I've always appreciated your videos for your honesty and your realistic approach to professional soccer. Educating younger kids about the reality of chasing the dream and also the idea that "there is no secret" is greatly important. In the end, I have found you can't blame anyone but yourself. The amount of work you put in determines the results you get and I think you've done a fantastic job explaining it. Well done mate 👍
Love that Matt wants to help Nick by showing him that he just has to take responsibilty for how things are going and he has the ball in his hands. U create your own world. It's all about perspective and little about facts. As long u believe, the results will come. It's the law of averages and attraction. Just stay positive and enjoy the procese. I believe Nick can do it. Become your greatest version and u will succeed. Peaceeee
Matt is absolutely right and here is what I think - If he was good enough and a stand out player he will get the contract. Imagine if a premier league player goes to a team like this, what will they do? They will take him asap when I see that his level is very good and the same goes for everyone that is trying to make it. Don't expect to be an average or below average player and to get signed, work to get to a very high level - ball game, fitness, game IQ etc. and when you get to that level you will get signed at a pro team ;)
Well said Matt. Train Effective needed to hear this from the right person. From experience I know how easy it is to fall into that mentality that the world is unfair and skewed against your but for anyone who truly wants success you must learn to supersede that, stop complaining and work harder. Cheers!
The only Gatekeeper there is your self. There is corruption everywhere, that's life. But it's how you react to that corruption that will either lead you to success or failure.
Wow I never knew how much you cared about what message are being sent out to us and it really makes me look at you, Matt, in another light. Damn you truly are an inspiration. Respect and love from Sweden
Damn dude you got selected from an open trial?! I would be gutted to be cut 2 days later after that. I've been to like 3-4 open trials and I felt like 90% of the guys there played on the same level. Anyway sounds like you've got good mental toughness, that's a good thing to have
Honestly one of my biggest inspirations and role models not just within football but everyday life. Spreading this sort of positivity and having the balls to say something against what you truly think isn't right shows your character and how much you truly care about not only your viewers, but also the kids (including myself) that also watch Nicks videos and are potentially influenced by them. Been supporting you for almost two years now and just want to say keep up the great work and keep inspiring people like myself to achieve their goals.
This is my first video I've watched on your channel and the way you said what you said here makes me think you're coming from a real love and heart felt angle! You're a good man. Nick is my man, I love that dude for his hustle and all, and I know he's going to make it, yes I noticed a change a bit, but thank God he is still on to 365days now. Nick, let's go! thanks for this vid
Wow, long time no see. Yeah, I've been following Matt since like 2 and a half years ago. He is very helpful, and gives me motivation to continue my destiny.
Of course lol If you are an outstanding player on the field and go to the teams that Nick has went - the first team will take you straight away. He went to 100 teams and nobody signed him because he is average lol
Barcelona4Lyf the players that do pay their way through trials and have not much ability do you think they end up playing in the top leagues making millions nope they end up in some semi professional league making less then what I do
If someone says you’re not good enough then that’s honestly a chance to improve and get so much better, saying you’re not good enough should motivate you.
This vid is fantastic, just to see 2 people on TH-cam that inspire me most come together to help each other. Keep going Nick and thanks for all you're help Matt
Matt, what you're saying here is so important. Every person has the potential to be their best supporter - or their worst enemy. There will of course be struggle and hardships along the way in whatever path you're walking, and everyone has their own personal struggle, and everyone doubts themselves at some points. But when you let that inner critic take over and drown out the inner supporter, it's a slippery slope that doesn't lead anywhere good. I'm a relatively new subscriber (subscribee?), but I love all this content. Keep up the great work!!
I agree with many of the things you say. I've been negative myself (many times) but I've learned to use those moments to push me forward afterwards. It's hard, but this is how the beautiful sport gets rid of the ones who aren't meant to go to the next "level". The way I look at it: "if I keep pushing, it will happen... maybe tomorrow, a month, a year... but it'll happen"
waiting for the "nick humphrees reacts to matt sheldon" haha, but i'm so glad this video was made it makes so much sense and needs to be heard by not only nick but a lot of people
Mr. FIFA Q8 same, i watched 2 of his games from when i lived in germany but then i moved to the united states and i got to see like 3 of his american team games because i live by fcc and can watch him play them
I’ve been following his 100 day challenge since day 7 and I loved it and it gave me the motivation to chase my goal but honestly I like your message better thank u
I love that you keep on spreading this positive message, Matt ! Your journey was not an easy one and you could have chosen the easy way, the negative way. From an optimistic to another, keep up the good work amigo! POSITIVITY ALWAYS WIN !
What an amazing message Matt, i am on the East Coast in Boston where soccer is not as popular, it is such a struggle but i keep working hard and trying all ventures, i feel like staying positive is hard but rather you stay positive in the pain and have a story to tell when you make it than quitting and having nothing to say at all.
I follow both of the channels since Matt's been in Germany and Nick ever since his 100 day challenge and both channels are truly amazing... You can learn from both channels. I really like what you did here Matt,. Because I also thought the same thing especially after Nick's 100 day challenge was over.
Super true. His business can help kids out. But he needs to understand simply he may not be good enough to be a pro. And that his words matter and shouldn't be spreading false info around. Thanks for standing up Matt.
Couldn't agree more with you Matt. I really thought Nick was going to make it I admired all his hard work but now he has and attitude like "it's not my fault, it's the coaches". You hit the nail on the head when you said that you must push through all this rejection. I think Nick needs a wake up call to get himself back on the saddle and I think this video is what he needs
Love you Matttt Agree 100% I also watche his 100 day challenge and when he did that vid where he was talking about Coruption i havent watch him since the bcs i didnt want to listen his negativ mind set..
Man I just hope Nick takes this the right way because honestly although Matt is only a year older, you can see that Matt knows what he's talking about much more than Nick. I know Matt is just trying to give the guy some advice, but I can't help but think Nick might take this the wrong way which I don't want to see
Well said bruh........positive mindset never fails......,when we stop believing we start playing.........if a thing comes easy u will never value it....ur right spreading negativity isn’t a good choice instead we should build out strong mindsets.
Nice video bro. If you are good enough if you are good enough nobody is stopping you, sooner or later you will make it. And this not only goes to football but any part of our life.
Matt I love how u made this video. I used to think of this in a negative way because thought my club was corrupt. Over the summer I trained as much as I could and have been in talks with coaches at my club and now, I’m getting called up to the A team because of this hard work and I didn’t let the “corrupt ness” bring me down I used it to rise me up.
Love that Matt, been watching you both for a very long time and being a aspiring footballer I've been through it too. Couldn't agree more with what you're saying!
100% agreed, I’ve been following you for a while and I you made me realize that the world of football is tougher than what we all expect, something that nick doesn’t realize, he thinks that he already earned a pro contract because he is putting some work to it but I bet most of us had trained as hard or maybe even harder than him. Sometimes you gotta realize that you can’t achieve some of your goals and is part of being an adult
I agree wholeheartedly. I stopped watching his videos because the message quite drastically switched from "hardwork prevails" to "blame others for your lack of success".
Honestly from what I have read about his story and on his blogs, although he claims to be invigorated by all the philosophical things his read and his apparent self belief, he doesn't at all have the proper mindset needed to succeed in this sport. To think that the game is corrupt is one thing, and I agree to an extent, but at the end of the day if you perform well enough in a trial to a point where the coach thinks you can improve a squad, you are going to get picked, regardless of the imaginary factors that he believes are there, ughhhh anyway, good example of what not to become hey
Good video! I have that experience when you are better than someone but the treat him like he is twice better as you. But that motivates me and I hate it because it is all over the world. A lot of people tell me now that I can't be a pro but I don't listen to them. I was to a Barca camp in my country and I was better than many kids there, but the coach decided to put me in the second group. I was very nervous that time that I had in my mind a lot of negative mind. And then we played a competition, first and second group together, and then a lot of kids saw who was I, even one kid told me that I was better than a lot of kids. I will never forget that, but one day I am sure that they would see what they've missed and will prove them wrong.
great guy this video just shows what great of a guy Matt is! Also keep your head up train effective you just got to power through the head times & not make excuses for them
Really nice video man! So,i'm playing for a team and im 15...But this year i started extra-curricular lessons and their program are the same as my team's trainings..So im really disappointed and i really want to play football as much as possible. Please give me some advice man!
I agree with you man I used to follow him but he got to negative for my liking. Yes we have too much negative in the world today I am a director at a soccer club and oh I tried to do is give him positive feedback and tell them there is nothing easy if you have a goal if you work hard enough you will achieve it
Bro even though I’m 13 and I also want to go pro, I can understand that most people are just bad people. Even my friends say I’m trash and I even got cut from a team, I manage to push through the hate and failure to push myself even further then I did before to improve
Matt i just seen nicks respons to this video and hearing both sides of the story its clear why he isn,t pro he really is negative and despite your help to guide him he has taken it very wrongly because he thinks only his mindset ia right. At 20 years of age im on the same issue but lll work hard untill i reach the point of success or complete failure untill then keep head up and graft.
train effective went to the most difficult place to play football in the world its the most physically league to play in plus there's tons of competition I believe if train effective wants to play pro it might not be England or Europe it could be Asia with so many leagues you can play in so many countries. he needed to be real and seek a professional level which is within his current abilities then after proving himself he could go anywhere.keep going hard guys and play as hard as you can for as long as you can!
Great video if you wanna watch another good TH-cam of soccer watch Sheldon twedi I don't think that's how you spell his last name but Hes doing the 365 day challenge very positive and inspiring TH-camr for young people who wanna play pro football. He's a good TH-cam and a great person for younger players to look up too like people looking up too you! Keep it up Matt
Wow never knew there was a lot of positive people here going after the same goal that really pumps me up I can't wait for my pro contract one day lets keep fighting!
*Let me tell you something. I, like Nick and countless more passionate and devoted people are going for that ultimate goal - to get a pro contract and do what you love. Well, just like Matt said, ENOUGH of the negativity. It is all up to you. Just put it that way, Matt is 24, much more experience, better physicality whereas Nick, lack most of this and still complains a lot. Well, mate.. I have been playing all my life, I have dealt with scoliosis when doctors were telling me to stop, now.. GET YOUR SH*T TOGETHER and either lift your head up or quit. 'Cause, if it was easy, everybody would do it. To y'all, who is passionate about something, would give their all and cannot live a day without thinking about.. CONTINUE GUYS AND NEVER STOP! Even if it does not work, know that you have given your best and it is your fault only if it does not work. This is sport, you need to shine early if not, you will struggle, realize that. That's how things go.. But, hey. There is this guy, Jamie Vardy and the fact that he has done, why can't you? Love you, Matt, thanks for the transparency and keep on grinding, just like you did back in Germany. DO NOT SETTLE DOWN UNTIL YOU REACH WHERE YOU WANT TO BE!*
i agree with you on mind set but mat my whole life ive been told your good enough but there are just players in the club that cant be removed due to the bored. i dont care but it does happen just got to keep fighting it comes one day but how can you receive anything if you always quite!!!
Guys please don't start a hate train, watch Matts whole video with an open mind and follow what Matt said don't spread the negative shit because life is hard enough with all the critics wether you like Nick (Train Effective) don't go hating on because your subscribed to Matt just remember the real message here and think positive. Don't spread the hate spread the positivity
I play for watford fc and im on a scolarship im seeing alot of friends geing released main reason they dont work hard work hard take every opportunities dont waste time and thats it youll get what you deaerve maybe not making it but you get what you deserve
Used to like his videos but unfortunately his attitude made me unsubscribe . His rejection revealed his true character and in fact showed how he was too mentally weak to become a footballer
I've always appreciated your videos for your honesty and your realistic approach to professional soccer. My motto: “give them something they can’t deny”
I agree, I stopped watching him about day 105 because of his shift of attitude.

Exactly. At the end of the day it doesn't matter if you are a billionaire or a dirt poor guy - Skill is what you need to make it!
Especially if you are like 25 - if you are average you won't go the top leagues, no fucking way.

Wayne Rooney screenshotted your comment. It's inspirational.
True.
Used to like his videos but unfortunately his attitude made me unsubscribe . His rejection revealed his true character and in fact showed how he was too mentally weak to become a footballer
