This is my favorite version of this song, partly because it’s with Voctave, partly because Mark wrote the words and delivers them like no one else can. More Voctave reactions please.
Best rendition of this gorgeous song and its because Mark wrote it and sang it with the feeling only an author can know. Btw;, he has MS and must sit, rather than stand, as a result.
I mean, everyone here is incredible, but... Kate. That G6 is ridiculous, but I'm even more impressed with the pianissimo D6 at the end. The amount of control she has is insane!
Mark Lowry, the solo/lead guy in the middle wrote this song. You can tell he enjoyed performing this with Voctave. Mark probably envisioned the host of angels sounding much like Voctave here. Best rendition of the song bar none.
The man all the way to the left is Jamey Ray who founded Voctave and arranges all of their music. Almost all are current or former members of the Voices of Liberty who sing at the American Pavillion at EPCOT in Disney World in Orlando. The premise for the song came when Mark Lowry wondered what he would ask Jesus's mother if they were sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee. That first soprano is the amazing Kate Lott. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Mark Lowry is the lyricist of this song, and is a guest artist for this performance. He is not a member of Voctave. Voctave has done a number of collaborations with various artists, including 2 different ones with Kirsten of Pentatonix. But their music on their own is totally stellar. Mark is a Gospel music solo artist now, but was part of the Gaither Vocal Band for many years. He is seated because he has a mild case of multiple sclerosis, but as you can tell it's had no apparent impact on his lung capacity!
Mark penned 'Mary Did You Know' as a poem which he used on a Christmas card one year. Several years later he sent the lyrics to several friends to get suggestions for putting his poem to music. His friend, Buddy Green, who is a marvelous harmonica player, composed the original music in this gorgeous minor key. Check him out. Much later, Mark Lowry sang 'Mary Did You Know' as lead in this Utube video. The group of singers known as Voctave is an acappella group that sometimes sing backup as they did with Mark, but when they sing as a group, they use as many or as few members as required for the individual productions! Kudos to everone in Voctave for everything they are part of! Mark was sitting down in this video because he has MS. It is incredible that He had such marvelous breath control.
Voctave almost always gives me chills. O Come All Ye Faithful, Someday, and Carol of the Bells of Notre Dame are probably my top 3 but those change because I love all their songs
I've followed you for some time, and I just LOVE your heartfelt sincerity when music touches your soul. I just listened to your newest (Heroes and Villains), and then I dug into your prior Voctave reactions. This reaction was a long time ago, and I'm surprised I never noticed it before now. While this particular piece isn't my favorite, it IS very beautiful. Great introduction to Voctave!
Did you know the MS also caused him to become partially deaf in one ear? And he just had another surgery on the leg he broke in that motorcycle wreck several years ago.
Wonderful Reaction! I hope you'll do more reactions to Voctave. They are one of my favorite groups! Merry Christmas! p.s. Just a thought...look around and see if there is a community chorale in your area. You can join in and sing with a group and have fun with others who enjoy singing too!
I had earlier suggested a different one, but I just listened to several of their songs again and the Disney Princess Medley is by far my favorite. There's a reason it has over 8 million views.
EVERY Voctave video is stunning and will create those goosebumps. "Disney Princess Medley", "This Is My Wish / Let There Be Peace on Earth", "Disney Love Medley (featuring Kirsten Maldonado)", "Over the Rainbow", "You Will Be Found (from Dear Evan Hansen)", "Some Day" - the list goes on and on. Please react to more Voctave!
Merry Christmas for you. The next song is released today, from Floor Jansen sings Ave Maria, (not the one with Marko) but her own special version on youtube.
Well said young lady. Mark Lowry has a friend named David Phelps. Please give him a reaction live only please. Sounds like just as I am. No More Night. Never Walk Alone period end of the beginning. He does a Whitney Houston cover at the age of 52. I have nothing and so many more. Well done girl I will be looking for you and your reactions
Sweet thing... if you want to get back into music, DO IT! You are never too old to do something you love! (David Phelps is another one that will restore your faith in music!)
Sadly you've just seen the awesome best. Most of the rest is bloody Disney. THIS is what they can do, take music into mystique. Mark Lowry helped with that a lot of course. Enjoyed this.
I know this is late, every person reacting to Voctaves videos are affected the same way you did. I watch the reaction videos, just to see how they, well, react. Your closing statements affected me, as the video did you. It is never too late to pick something up where you left off. You can find affordable instruments online. Singing costs nothing. Even if it’s karaoke or just “car karaoke”. Live your life. No regrets. Get out there and make yourself happy. Music is the healer of all wounds. I hope you read this. Or whomever may be reading this, please do the same.

Mark Lowry (soloist/older man with glasses) wrote this song. Voctave are the backing choir.

Mark Lowrys voice and singing his song. Made the Voices in the choir sound even better. He’s voice is amazing. GodBless
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_am_(biblical_term) Mark is blessed by the Great "I AM"
Hey Tauri! Thanks for introducing the group! Jesus! My Lord is here permeating our emotions! The music is wonderful! 🙌🙏❤️🥹

Pentatonics also has a cover of this that’s amazing

Your makeup is really on point! (And yes, Voctave is brilliant and Mark Lowry is a beast)
Vocatives O' Come All Ye Faithful

Mark Lowry is also a Christian comedian
Tears ? Welcome to the club ....
Great reaction. Hope you'll check out more of their videos.
That gentleman is Mark Lowry, who wrote and sung the song originally!! The reason he is sitting is because he has MS! 18 seconds.....twice!!
Did you know the MS also caused him to become partially deaf in one ear? And he just had another surgery on the leg he broke in that motorcycle wreck several years ago.
Ah, yes! So happy you did this one. Voctave is a trip. Great reaction.

Them all are so amazing!! You should react to their another christmas medley😌
Listen to: Disney Princess Medley, Prince of Egypt Medley, Movie Medley
To really hear what Voctave can do, check out the Disney Princess Medley (seems to be the most popular one).
I had earlier suggested a different one, but I just listened to several of their songs again and the Disney Princess Medley is by far my favorite. There's a reason it has over 8 million views.
And this is only a song about Jesus. The real thing may not make your life easier but he will make it oh so much better!!!!!

Are you a Gemini ?
No, pisces...
Good voices, but I'm not familiar with the song. I prefer more fun Christmas songs.
