Welcome to the world of Voctave .... you are not the only reviewer to cry at this performance .... You can not go wrong with anything that they do .... More Please ...
Love your reactions! A great Christmas/Christian song by them is Mary Did You Know? featuring Voctave with Mark Lowry. Mark wrote the words to Mary Did You Know some 30 years ago. He sings the lead with Voctave as his "backup band" ... it is absolutely THE BEST version I have ever heard by anybody ... PERIOD!
Yes, Voctave are all Disney cast members. When working at the Walt Disney World park in Orlando, they're known as the "Voices of Liberty" and sing at the American pavillion at EPCOT. At EPCOT they only perform 8 at a time (four men four women). As for which princess is which... "Some Day My Prince Will Come" is from Snow White and the Seven Dwaves". sung by Snow White. "Once Upon a Dream" is from "Sleeping Beauty"., sung by Aurora. "Part of Your World" is from "The Little Mermaid", sung by Ariel "Reflection" is from "Mutan", sung by Mulan. Note that Mulan is one of the many "Disney Princesses" who isn't actually a princess (there are actually several). "Colors of the Wind: is from "Pocahontas", sung by Pocahontas. Another Princess who isn't a princess. And yes, all of Voctave's music is on iTunes.
Finally found Voctave. Hooray! Most are veterans of Disney's Voices of America. They are based in the Orlando area. Some still work for Disney in voicing characters that sing and doing voice overs. Founder and master arranger, Jamie Ray, is a consultant to Disney and Universal. They have a limited catalog, so you need to space them out, but you can't go wrong with fan recommendations. Oh, and they have a lot you can add to a child's playlist.
*Voices of Liberty* (at the American Adventure in EPCOT). All 11 Voctave members have been VoL members at some point and half of them still are (mix of full-time and subs).
@@alanstumpf2084 Yup. Drew and Aaron still sing with the Dans. They've all had various singing gigs at the Parks. Another fun fact is that EJ and Kurt were part of the original cast of Finding Nemo at Animal Kingdom.
0:00 Snow White - Someday my prince will come 3:50 Sleeping Beauty - Once upon a dream 4:50 A Little Mermaid - Part of your world 7:49 Mulan - Reflection 10:20 Pocahontas - Colors of the wind
So if you ask me the best Voctave Medley is the Prince of Egypt Medley. It is just audio, but it is an ear-gasim. Princess order was Snow White (vocalist Kate Lot), Aurora, aka Sleeping Beauty (vocalist Tiffany), Ariel (vocalist Sarah), Mulan (vocalist Ashley), and Pocahontas (vocalist Chrystal). And yes, Voctave have a bunch of Christmas music. They mainly tour in the latter portion of the year because they are full time members of Voices of Liberty in Epcot.
I like their 'impossible dream', 'Mary did you know' and recently - 'somewhere'... they have an old video - 'fly medley', featuring different members, but it is still that 'disney' sound that everyone loves... from I recall, all of them did work for disneyworld at one time or another...
All of the members of Votave have sung with the Voices of Liberty, at Epcot Center in Disney World Florida, at one time or another. Their Christmas stuff is unbelievable and if you want to hear something that's amazing, listen to The Great Movie Medley. It's an ode to the great John Williams and his movie scores. Only one song has lyrics and on the rest their voices ARE the orchestra. Also, during the height of Covid, they did a virtual video of You Will Be Found with 900 people from 55 countries. Because of the 11 members, they do not have to add layers in the studio.Simply put, they are unmatched, especially in a live show!
Voctave is insanely good! I have watched and listened to nearly all their stuff and it is ALL AMAZING! My favorite Christmas carol that they sing is "Carol Of The Bells of Notre Dame". I believe all, or certainly most, of the members have sung in the group Voices of Liberty at Epcot.
The lyric soprano is the mighty Kate Lott. Welcome to the Voctave wormhole. Enjoy your stay. :) I suggest the Disney Love Medley and Mary Did You Know? (with the song's lyricist). As others have said, many or most are members of Voices of Liberty.
So indeed Christmas! They can ROCK a Christmas carol. Check out O Come All Ye Faithful, Mary Did You Know, Carol of the Bells/of Notre Dame, This is My Wish/Let There Be Peace and on a non-Christmas note, Their Prince of Egypt Medley is Astonishing! Thanks for the great reaction and welcome to Voctave!
Voctave is just fabulous! More Vocatve reactions!! I recommend: Disney Heroes and Villains Medley (you met the ladies of Voctave in the Disney Princess Medley, meet the guys in the Heroes and Villains Medley), The Great Movie Medley (a tribute to John Williams), Somewhere (From "West Side Story"), "Someone Like You" (with Jody McBrayer, from "Jekyll & Hyde"), Remember Me (from Coco), and two musts--"Where Are You Christmas?" (tissues nearby, I need one every time I watch this) and "O Come All Ye Faithful" (EJ Cardona has the lead and he is just out of this world).
You are correct that at least one of the studies vocals. Jamey Ray, the second man from the left, teaches at Rollins College. He arranges all of their music. He specifically tailors each part for each member of Voctave. And yes, the name is a combination of Vocal Octave. I’d love to see you react more to Voctave. If you want to know what they would sound like singing Christmas carols, they have 3 albums of them. Mary Did You Know features Mark Lowry who wrote the words. It is AMAZING. Kate happens to hit a G6 in it. It doesn’t matter what song you choose by Voctave, they are all equally as good as you just heard. Glad you enjoyed this!
Jeremy Michael Lewis pitched the name "Voctave" to Jamey after rejecting Jamey's original name "8va". Jamey goes into the details at the beginning of Voctave's 2019 TH-cam Live chat, and also explains the story in an interview with Mark Lowry. It's a fun story.
LOVE your reaction to thus masterful performance! I also love this video and this group. I have probably watched it, with and without reaction, 50 times at least. It is hard to have a favorite in this immensely talented group, but Chrystal Johnson's voice (Pocahontas) thrills me. And Yes!!!! They do Christmas!!!! DO NOT miss their "Mary, Did You Know" in which they provide backing vocals for Mark Lowry (he wrote the lyrics!). But, seriously, ALL there Christmas songs will bless your socks off. Britt, I almost never use this many capitalized words, but.... I am so glad to have shared your joy in discovering Voctave on this, my very first video of the celebration of my 70th year of my very blessed life. I am going to say a heart-felt prayer for you now. God bless you.
Ah, the Voctave rabbit hole...check out their "O Come, All Ye Faithful". The high note singer is Kate Lott. The arrangements are by Jamie Ray, the second from the left. When I worked at Disney World, I sang in the employee choir (cast choir) for the Christmas Candlelight Processional 18 years. The Voices of Liberty from Epcot were dressed as Dickens' carolers, and sang with us. I've heard them sing since 1981 when Epcot opened, and I get chills Every. Single. Time.
Kate Lott is the first soprano, Tiffany Cohen the second soprano, Sarah Whitmore, 3rd soloist Ariel, Ashley Espinosa, 4th soloist Mulan, Crystal singing Color of the Wind Pochehantas. You should check out their Christmas songs. Expecially Where are you Christmas
Yeah, that was easily what I'd call an eargasm! A happy tears-inducing one! You nailed that description of its complexity and the work they all put into it! Y'know, . . . Valentine's Day is coming soon so perhaps you might give their "Disney Love Medley" a listen!?

Voctave DOMINATES my Christmas music lists. They are amazing and I hope to see them on tour one year. Please watch more -- anything you pick will be good
Had found they performed in Dayton in '22 and was unaware. They returned in '23 and I h ad tickets for months. Guess who gets sick that very day?? Damn it. Hoping '24 will be my year, provided they give me another chance.
@@embran8486Went to see CW in Lima a month or so ago. I had tickets for months and months and was so looking forward to this. I've been a fan since theirv1st appearance on PBS. Absolutely loved the original 4 ladies and since then it hasn't been quite the same, but still an outstanding group of singers. Now only 3 singers, WHY ?? Whoever set up the sound system that night really did a poor job. This venue only sit 1800 and the sound level simply ruined it. Only when a solo sang was it acceptable. Truly disappointed in the night. Won't blame the ladies for this. Hope you can get the opportunity to see them in person and good luck.
@@ronallen6578 Nah, but thanks anyway. I heard the current ones and just from that not a fan. Let alone going to a concert of theirs (actually so far never booked a concert once, only accidently joined when i was in the same location of any band). The balance in the old group between natural voice, classical and musical theatre was great. Something for everyone. And Méav carried it all for me. Now its musical and Poppy exclusive.
🪄 ✨ Magical. The first song was from Snow White whilst the second was from Sleeping Beauty (my favorite). i adore ALL your reactions but this one was truly special! Your awe and excitement were a joy to watch. You may have said that Little Girl, Brit was screaming, well darlin' Big Girl, Brit pretty much was too! Precious 💕 i look forward to seeing many more videos like this one! ~🩵☘️🥀
Congratulations Britt!!!! You've finally found a rabbit hole worth diving into!!! You will love it!! Yes, they are the "Voices of Liberty" and sing at Epcot's American Pavilion. Hope you enjoy the Journey!!!!!
I have to put my two cents/suggestione in as well . While i have to agree that i havent heard a single song from them (like not one....what group can you say that you love every song they do? Every one? I mean seriously) some of the ones you shouldnt miss that arent christmas songs Great movie medley Prince of Egypt medley (audio only but still available on youtube) (also my personal favorite) And since i know you grew up in church - oh come all ye faithfull featuring EJ Cardona (whose voice will absolutely blow your mind. everyone who has ever heard voctave sing will back me up on that one. )
Thank you for requesting "Oh Come All Ye Faithful." I was struggling to remember the song where EJ holds a note forever. It's breathtaking to say the least.
I love your reaction to Voctave. They do a lot of Disney music, as all of them have worked at Walt Disney World and some still do. They also sing a bunch of Christmas songs, and Broadway songs from musicals, and a mix of other favorites. They have a "Heroes and Villains medley" where the men have solos like the women did in this song. In their version of "Somewhere" they each get a solo. Welcome to the Wonderful World of Voctave.
I’m a big fan of yours! I’ve been waiting for you to meet Voctave since the moment I saw your first reaction. Funny you said what you did about Christmas! You are correct, they can and have ROCKED many Christmas songs! I can’t wait to see your reaction to those!
“Can you imagine these people coming up to your front door on Christmas?” If you go to the American Pavilion in Disney World’s Epcot park during the holiday season, you won’t have to imagine as you can see most of them sing to you there (as all of Voctave’s past and present members are either former or current members of Epcot’s Voices of Liberty). With that said, Voctave does have quite a holiday playlist if you want to hear more of their work. I’d recommend “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Carol of the Bells of Notre Dame,” “Christmas Waltzes,” and “Mary, Did You Know?”
They have some incredible Christmas music but in the meantime I would highly recommend Disney Love Medley and Great Movie Medley. Disney Heroes and Villains is also really fun. They always make me cry. So much talent in one group!! And you’re right, harmonizing is not easy!! ❤
First song is One day my prince will come. (Snow White). Second is Once upon a dream. (Aurora). Third is Part of your world. (Ariel). Fourth is Reflection (Mulan). Fifth is Colors of the wind. (Pocahontas). Hope that helps.
I have been soooooooo waiting for you to get to Voctave and speaking of Christmas, they have at least 2 Christmas albums/CDs and are a MUST during the holiday season!!!!!!! The men are featured in a Disney Heroes and Villains medley!
If you want a Christmas treat, listen to Voctave sing "Where Are You Christmas" but have tissue on hand because it will likely make you cry. ;-) Also, this one features the women with the men singing backing vocals. There's another that is a "Disney Heroes and Villains Medley" featuring the men individually.
They are not all Disney voices but about half of them do sing at Disneyworld in Orlando. In a group called Voiced of Liberty. You ain’t seen nuthin’ yet, Missy! EVERY video is a masterpiece of sorts. I have seen them 6 times in concert and, believe me, this is not studio/mixing magic. They sound JUST as good live and are just incredible. Glad you discovered them.❤
They're not all *current* Disney World singers but all 11 have worked at Disney World as singers at some point (and all 11 have been members of Voices of Liberty). Kate, Drew, Aaron, Karl are still VoL members, while Ashley and Sarah are subs.
Well since you did the Disney Princess Medley, you should now checkout their Disney Heros and Villians video to hear all the men's voices. After that, have fun. They have a pretty large inventory of songs. By the way, they are all current or former members of the Acapella group Voices of Liberty, who perform daily at Walt Disney World's World Pavillion America, at Epcot center. Some have also Sung on Disney soundtracks, and some actually do character voiceovers for Disney. A couple of the men have also been members of The Dapper Dan's Barbershop quartet that sings on Disney World Mainstreet. Yes they do tour as well. You really can't go wrong with any of their stuff.
Voctave is DEFINITELY a rabbit hole that is worth diving into! They are absolutely accapella harmony magic! Check out their cover of Mary Did You Know with Marc Lowry (Marc is the writer of the word to Mary Did You Know). And their O' Come All Yee Faithful will bring you to tears. They are in league by themselves!
Yay Voctave ! Loved your reaction, here's some great covers from them: - Disney Love Medley - Disney Showstoppers Medley - Disney Heroes/Villains Medley - Poor Unfortunate Souls / I Put a Spell on You - O Come all ye faithful - Mary did you know - Someone like you - Where are you christmas ...:D
They are all Disney singers. Loved watching your reactions and can recommend; Disney Love Medley with Kristin Maldanado from PTX, Disney Heroes and Villains to show off the men, Great Movie Medley sung live, O Holy Night, Mary Did You Know with the writer of the song featured, O Come All Ye Faithful, Somewhere and every other song they do.
I was thrilled to see you were finally reacting to Voctave, especially the Disney Princess Medley. As much as I love Pentatonix and Home Free, this is a step above them. Sheer Perfection!!! You would probably really enjoy the Disney Love Songs Medley. Kirsten from Pentatonix is singing with them. It's enchanting.
I really enjoyed your first time reaction to Voctave. They are a fantastic a cappella singing group, and their pure harmonies are unbeatable. That's not to take anything away from the other phenomenal a cappella groups, Home Free, Pentatonix and VoicePlay. During your reaction, you identified one of Voctave's main advantages. Voctave, with 11 incredible singer/soloists, can create a much fuller sound using multiple harmonies. It is a supremely talented group. Now that you've heard all of the women featured, you might want to check out their Disney Heroes and Villains Medley which features each of the men. You also speculated that they'd do a great job on Christmas Carols, well you would be right. I would start with Mary, Did You Know, featuring Mark Lowry, the guy who co-wrote the song, and move onto O Come All Ye Faithful (a tenor solo), and finally check out their rendition of Where Are You Christmas. When it comes to repertoire, these hardly scratch the surface. Welcome to the Voctave rabbit hole. Enjoy the journey!!!
@BrittReacts Recommendation: Every time you pause, I recommend that you rewind before continuing on so you miss as little as possible. You rewound a few times during this reaction, but not every time and, I think, you missed some things you wouldn't have had you rewound. The complexity of Jamey's Arrangements and Voctave's Performances definitely requires rewinds at every pause to catch and appreciate things. And it's not just Voctave I recommend this for. I recommend rewinds for all of your reactions. Rewinding, to me, enhances a reaction because it allows you, the reactor, to catch as much as possible during your first viewing/listen. As far as Voctave are concerned, no, the ladies are not "Disney Princesses." However, as some people have pointed out, a lot of them (both the women and men) work for Disney. A lot of them sing in a choral group called "Voices of Liberty" that sing out of EPCOT at Disney World. So, yes, Voctave is based out of Orlando. A couple of the guys, however, ARE Official Disney Voices, not from the movies, but rather from Stage Projects. There are two songs they've put out that showcase the men with Disney songs. The first is "Disney Showstoppers," which is the "Prince" equivalent to the "Disney Princess Medley" that you just reacted to and they're both from the same album so they were recorded at the same time. The second, which really illustrates which two guys have, clearly, "done this before," is the "Disney Heroes and Villains Medley." I'm interested to see if you can tell which two guys are "official." I do, highly, recommend deep diving the Voctave "rabbit hole" as every song they've ever done is of the highest quality. I would love to see you react to them all, but that's up to you if you want to. Either way, welcome to the Voctave Fandom and have fun with the deep dive!
As many have already suggested, and by #Voctave is genius. Truly masterful vocals, arrangements, layering and dynamics. Their Christmas music is divine and their Disney and Broadway phenomenal. Disney Heroes and Villains - showcases the guys Somewhere - one of their newest, arrangement highlights each of their voices You Will Be Found - done separately during Covid! Prince of Egypt Medley - perhaps their best (audio only, but you won't care!) Can't wait to see you react to more Voctave - you will NOT be disappointed.

This is an incredibly beautiful performance!
Their Christmas songs are awesome especially from the Grinch movie “Where are You Christmas?”. Be sure you have tissues!
You gotta check out their version of “O come all ye faithful” Christmas time or not it’s mind blowing
Their Christmas songs are amazing but you must hear their Where Are You Christmas.
You want her to cry??
I want her to not miss an amazing experience.@@Kiroshadow
🪄 ✨ Magical. The first song was from Snow White whilst the second was from Sleeping Beauty (my favorite). i adore ALL your reactions but this one was truly special! Your awe and excitement were a joy to watch. You may have said that Little Girl, Brit was screaming, well darlin' Big Girl, Brit pretty much was too! Precious 💕
i look forward to seeing many more videos like this one!
~🩵☘️🥀
Thanks for letting me in on what felt like "ecstasy" for you!
You are so welcome!
Just imagine the tryouts for this group I would be so nervous you have to be so confident in yourself to make this magic
Congratulations Britt!!!! You've finally found a rabbit hole worth diving into!!! You will love it!! Yes, they are the "Voices of Liberty" and sing at Epcot's American Pavilion. Hope you enjoy the Journey!!!!!
Yes! Thank you!
I have to put my two cents/suggestione in as well . While i have to agree that i havent heard a single song from them (like not one....what group can you say that you love every song they do? Every one? I mean seriously) some of the ones you shouldnt miss that arent christmas songs
Great movie medley
Prince of Egypt medley (audio only but still available on youtube) (also my personal favorite)
And since i know you grew up in church - oh come all ye faithfull featuring EJ Cardona (whose voice will absolutely blow your mind. everyone who has ever heard voctave sing will back me up on that one. )
Thank you for requesting "Oh Come All Ye Faithful." I was struggling to remember the song where EJ holds a note forever. It's breathtaking to say the least.
Definitely go on a Christmas binge with Voctave. It's literally life-changing
They have Christmas albums. Many are from Voices of Liberty at Epcot American Adventure
Omg!!!! This is one of the most beautiful things I’ve heard!!
I’m a big fan of yours! I’ve been waiting for you to meet Voctave since the moment I saw your first reaction. Funny you said what you did about Christmas! You are correct, they can and have ROCKED many Christmas songs! I can’t wait to see your reaction to those!
A great follow-up song to this is Voctave‘s villains and heroes in which all the men get a solo. You will love it!
This my friend is a master class in how it works and boy do they know how it works!
“Can you imagine these people coming up to your front door on Christmas?”
If you go to the American Pavilion in Disney World’s Epcot park during the holiday season, you won’t have to imagine as you can see most of them sing to you there (as all of Voctave’s past and present members are either former or current members of Epcot’s Voices of Liberty).
You have to do their Villains medley ❤
If you want a Christmas treat, listen to Voctave sing "Where Are You Christmas" but have tissue on hand because it will likely make you cry. ;-) Also, this one features the women with the men singing backing vocals. There's another that is a "Disney Heroes and Villains Medley" featuring the men individually.
If you’ve ever seen The Price of Egypt, Voctave did a medley of it, and it’s stunning. There is no MV for it, but it really doesn’t need it.
“These women are out of this world!”
*Part of Your World starts playing* 😂 👌🏽
Britt please react to VOCTAVE Disney Heroes & Villains Medley.
Hey Brit love your reactions. I would love to see you do The little mermaid medley by voiceplay
Listen to Where are You Christmas, bring tissues you’ll need them
Voctave is DEFINITELY a rabbit hole that is worth diving into!
Loved your reaction, here's some great covers from them:
- Disney Love Medley
- Disney Showstoppers Medley
- Disney Heroes/Villains Medley
- Poor Unfortunate Souls / I Put a Spell on You
- O Come all ye faithful
- Mary did you know
- Someone like you
- Where are you christmas
...:D
Do Voctive Movie Picture Medley next.
I couldn't imagine being more in love with Britt than I was before.
Love how you zeroed in on that dissonant harmony at the end. Great reaction!
Voctave is a great choir.
This is my very favorite Voctave medley. Thank you SO MUCH for your reaction.
Popularity over contingency. Still ever so fabulous.
Voctave kills everything they touch, they're one of the best and underrated. Hoping to see more reactions for them!
@BrittReacts
Recommendation: Every time you pause, I recommend that you rewind before continuing on so you miss as little as possible.
The second, which really illustrates which two guys have, clearly, "done this before," is the "Disney Heroes and Villains Medley." I'm interested to see if you can tell which two guys are "official."
I do, highly, recommend deep diving the Voctave "rabbit hole" as every song they've ever done is of the highest quality. I would love to see you react to them all, but that's up to you if you want to. Either way, welcome to the Voctave Fandom and have fun with the deep dive!
I’m 57 , a singer from years ago lol, and this darn video makes me tear up every time I hear it, so yeah, thanks for that!
Colors of the Wind from Pocahantas has always been one of my favorite songs. Maybe one day you would react to Vanessa Williams singing the whole song.
As many have already suggested, and by #Voctave is genius. Truly masterful vocals, arrangements, layering and dynamics. Their Christmas music is divine and their Disney and Broadway phenomenal.
Disney Heroes and Villains - showcases the guys
Somewhere - one of their newest, arrangement highlights each of their voices
You Will Be Found - done separately during Covid!
Prince of Egypt Medley - perhaps their best (audio only, but you won't care!)
Can't wait to see you react to more Voctave - you will NOT be disappointed.
Voctave is an acapella choir 6 men 5 women
Welcome to the Voctave rabbit hole, you said about them rocking Xmas songs, that’s one of their specialty’s, from Mary, did you know to Carol of the bells of Notre Dame to Where are you Christmas, they knock it out of the park whether Disney, Halloween, Christmas or anything else they are angelic 👍👍👍
