    I've had the rv5 for 12 years now. Just love it's easy setup and room to spare. The only reason I do not connect the roll out awning next to the rv5 anymore is the pole that stop me opening that rear door. My fridge sits there but love your setup and your "kiss" rule which many forget to focus on.

    Definitely regret going with a RTT myself. Wish I'd gone with one of these. Not being able to drive off easily isn't ideal.

    Im getting a oz tent 3 for my tourer jeep. With afew side walls thats a awesome setup...i was thinking about doing a 270 wing.and oztent TJ together.thats definitely a nice setup you have.🤙

    The only criticism I have is that the floor saver is supposed to go under the tent - it helps protect the floor of your tent from sharp sticks and rocks. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Other than that, great set up. 👍🏻

    Exactly what i did after my kings roof top tent b.s 3 years ago
    I brought the oztent rv4 2.5 years ago still use it regularly over 300 nights in all sorts of weather and it still looks new and its actually faster to set up than my swag oztent gear is awesome

    Mint setup mate ! I just got the rv5 tent and planning to set up exactly like this with my Landcruiser and arb awning. My tent is 2.6 meters, awning 2.5, so very close. How does it hold up in the rain with that caravan connection ? It wouldn't be water tight with that gap where awning meets caravan connector, even if one was tucked under the other as it looks like you have done, its a weak point in heavy rain do you agree ? It would be perfect if that connection was like the other side, waterproof zip or sail track on to the awning.

    Looking to do similar but with an RV5. We have done the swag thing, which I like when I'm on my own. "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication". Then we did the roof top tent for 3 weeks up the cape, which was great but setting up was a little bit of a pain having to pack it up everyday. But we are about to have our first child and I don't want to be passing a child up and down a ladder! Haha.

      Have you had the rv5 set up the same as the rv3 as seen in the video yet? If so I’d love to know how it went. I want to do the same but with a drifta 270.

      @Liam Burnett Did you do it, and if so how did it go ? I'm keen to know as I'm about to set up an rv5 with my Landcruiser.

      Nah, we ended up buying a soft floor camper trailer. That way we can keep the car clear and leave our campsite when we want to. Also allows us to pack for camping ahead of time.

    Second rime watching this its a great arse setup mate love it im diving deep into reaearching this tent and setup love it nobody but snowys has this setup but theres is frontward of the awning not to the side like yours!
    So you sown the velcro tabs on the connector to just wrap around the awning pole nice work man....doesnt leak through the stitching etc ?

    • @gareth2480
      @gareth2480  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks mate. I’ve not had it in heavy rain, however I’m sure it wouldn’t be water tight between the caravan connector and awning pole. This set up takes up a bit less room as opposed to having the Oztent connected off the front of the awning. Great tents, you won’t regret getting one.

      @@gareth2480 thanks for the quick response yeah got a bloke selling one for $800 and he's giving me the extra floor saving mat and the extra tougher bag to go in, has a tiny hole on the front floor but that can be patched I'm trying to get him down cheaper, but yeah love it mate can't wait to have a setup like this instead of a bloody coffin swag that's has no space in it....only bad thing I hear is winter camping the condensation etc

    Get a side awning and you are laughing. I put two oztent stretchers in my RX4 which makes inside the tent more usable with storage underneath

    • @jcproductions007
      @jcproductions007 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm doing the same mate, great idea, can fit a little table between the stretchers at one end for phones, lantern etc and storage underneath them as you said plus more.

    Air mattress
    Stretcher beds?
