For the song? Truly a beautiful song. A cover of the Volga Boatmen. For the fighter? Perfect the art, and keep it simple. No fancy trash talking bullshit. His art is in the cage, or in the ring, or on the mat, or wherever. But he kept it simple and to get the job done. THAT is the mark of a true fighter. You're going to run your mouth? Great. Let's see how much you're going to say when you've got your jaw wired shut.
I have been trying to find this forever! A thousand salamat! Fedor is the greatest ever & a very honorable man. In my mind, he hasn't retired. Legends are eternal.
so far i have only been impressed by the history of my fathers THE ROMAN SOLDIERS. Now i have a human being alive who i can dream to meet and shake his hand and thank him for the power and honesty he gave to this sport. RESPECT FROM ITALY TO FEDOR AND MY RUSSIAN BROTHERS:
Powerful andrea ladies and gentleman. Fedor was absolutely amazing. Not been in awe of a fighter in the same way. Maybe cain. Fedor was something else tho, even if cain would beat him. I think his mentality set him above the rest. people who speak insultingly of fedor should be ignored.
Bigfoot koed a 264 pound Overeem , Bigfoot was never able to do that to Fedor who is 230 pounds when Bigfoot was 290 going in to the fight with Fedor ...... shows even at Fedor's worse he was at his peak better then any heavyweight out there today .

I have never seen a fighter with the kind of mystique Fedor possessed. Speaking nothing of who would beat who (I'm in the camp that thinks prime Fedor beats prime Cain, but there will never be resolution to this question). A guy like Jon Jones equals Fedor (so far) in terms of how unflinchingly dominant he has been, as does Daniel Cormier. The problem is that both of them reveal too much about their personalities to the public to be the same sort of figure as Fedor. Whether you like him or not, Jon Jones is plainly human, with human foibles, immaturity, arrogance. Fedor was a fucking monolith. He was like an assassin from a sci-fi movie, unfrozen only to be unleashed on his opponents. Fedor was obviously only human as well, and you KNOW he had thoughts about all the people/journalists/fighters trashing him, he probably had things he wanted to say to them at times, but he had the restraint and mental strength to not fall into their game of reaction baiting and drama mongering. Plus how tough, how calculated, how freakishly powerful, how good everywhere he was, plus he had that gut and build that basically self-denied anabolics. It all gave the impression of somebody who was more than human. GSP has the same kind of attitude, and I love him as a fighter/person, but he retreated behind his defenses after losing to Matt Serra, so he never got that mystique (in fact, almost every new GSP fight, everyone would discuss how the next opponent would be the one to beat him). A guy like Cain basically acts like Fedor (being ultra-tough, not trash talking, etc.) but...I dunno. Maybe he will be there eventually. He seems to have all the tools. It could be my own biases that prevent me from seeing him that way (I've watched Cain since he was on the undercard, whereas I didn't start watching MMA until Fedor was already like 15-1 and had won the Pride HW Championship). Maybe it's that I find Cain's music, combined with absolutely no other mariachi or mexican theatrics, to be goofy, whereas Fedor's was always dissonantly beautiful, cathedralized his walk to the ring, and served to highlight just how intimidating he was. I don't know. But damn. There will never be another like him.

Sadly, he lost to Matt Matrione, but he is still a legend.
Gecolby Wright he’s coming for revenge. That ko of Mir is proof
It is true. Mitrione beat him, but even he respects Fedor.
