1/5/13 I Google "Doo Wop Christmas" - Kenny Vance & the Planotones which I heard on a great Long Island oldies station WLNG. Then I see Ronnie Spector, Planotones & Danbury, Ct mentioned. I couldn't believe my fate of finding this. I recently enjoyed my 50th class of '61 Danbury High School reunion. That summer I appeared at record hops as the singing lifeguard & shared the stage with Ronnie & the Relatives (became the Ronnettes) & Gene Pitney before they became Rock 'n Roll Hall of Famers.
Yes, I noticed that and was disappointed. I'm glad you mentioned it, as I did not want to be the only one to post a "critical" comment :) Also, the harmonies with her as lead were just not as tight as when Kenny is lead. It sounds nice, it is good to see them together, but it does not have the "magic" I was hoping for.
The GREAT Kenny Vance and the Planotones .. with the great Ronni Spector. YES!
What a treat to see Ronni Spector and hear her sing. She has not changed a bit, She sounded terrific and looked great.
I seen Ronnie and the ronettes and Chuck Berry it was 74 or 75.IT WAS GREAT !
Was at this concert. It was great & so was
Ronnie Spector.
Loved Ronnie since I was 13, still do. I'm 61.
When a group of people appear on the current talent show programs and they can sing like this .....
thatl'e be the day....
Ronnie was the best
Could sing any song and
Loved her sound
Ronnie was the best

great stuff even though Ronnie was off key at times.
Miss Ross was great but I would take Ronnie Spector over her
She's off key at the beginning, then fine after that.
