Born in 1947, I grew up during these great times and music. We danced to all this music besides the style we had. Now, in 2023, Chris Ruggiero sings a lot of oldies in a classy way, the way it was done!
Okay. I like all Doo Wop Songs. It is so indispensable to me. I am now 65 years old. But along with my brothers, we love our very great Idol Elvis Presley to date. But this doo wopp song by The Passions reminds me of that time of yore. It is a great group, especially the lead singer Jimmy Gallagher, he is the most vocal singer of this whole group. My great compliment !!!! Thank you for posting my friend .
OK Its Wednesday April 15 2020 and I am listening again to the Passions singing Gloria.. And once again, I can't believe how great Jimmy G 's voice is. You youngsters ( under 50 ) should listen closely to this THIS IS MUSIC !
I was born in bay ridge moved to Benson Hurst loved watching the guys doing acap Aella on 18th. Ave. Watched the varazano narrows bride being built. I'm 71 live on long island now but Brooklyn, doo woop music, and the best slice of pizza you can get will always be in this girls ❤
It is Monday February 22 2021 and I am still in love with these great songs....I hope that many of you " young" folk get to hear this music You will be in love with it !
it will never ever get better than this. We are truly blessed to have grown up with Doo Wop. Todays' music - if you can call it music - sucks. From an old Brooklyn girl
@@amysheneman3277 Hi Amy I am also a Brooklyn guy I lived at 395 Ocean Ave.. between Caton Ave and Woodruf Ave. Had great times....Started at Erasmus but moved to Long Island...... How about you !!!
I love these guys, nothings better than those days. They took us on a trip that we’ll never experience again. I miss this so so much. It was magical !!!!
Great job guy's. Gave this old Dude the chills. You know I think the reason why the song "Gloria" is such an everlasting popular hit, by very many groups, is that everyone can identify with the feeling of an unfullfilled love. For that gut sick feeling you got for "that" girl on the Bus, "that" girl in your class, "that" girl down the street who will never requite your unspoken love. It goes for everybody men and women who sigh life long for that "one" who you could never have. "Gloria" touches such a chord in all of us who long.
Jimmy Gallagher and the Passions one of the all time Greats of the Doo Woo Era and that song is a treasure brings back so many beautiful memories those were the greatest of days 🤗❤️🌹🌹
This one of my favorite songs to listen to back in the day. As old timers I must say that they did a good recreation of the original recording. Well done.
My band THE BRAVADOS was popular in the sixties and early seventies, always played GLORIA to a great crowd who danced and sung with us.. Nothing like todays music.. These doo wop songs have always, and will always be the best !
This "original group," will forever be one of doo wops very best...I also agree with Rich, Tony Passalacqua singing Rosemarie is great. The sweetest voice, hands down, Jimmy Gallagher ❤️
These great artists show the real class that groups from the early years of "Rock & Roll" had. 50 or more years after their peak they still know how to entertain and give enjoyment to an audience.
Today - July 7 , 2922 and I'll feeling so great because of this music . Listen to the lyrics of the songs that helped form what was important to us . It was about love and caring about each other . Take heart and think about that .
We also saw them at the Ruth Eckard hall , also loved meeting Debra Nader whom I had saw earlier at Uplands in NJ. We flew all the way from Deer Lake in NL, via Toronto to Tampa, stayed at Safety Harbor Resort, great place ...John and Ruby Wellon......Jimmy's voice is wonderful....
bob cavicchio My sentiment, exactly. If I wasn’t bald, I would be ripping my hair out. I'm sure that a live audience that lives these guys enjoyed the corniness, but some editing for the Tube might have been nice.
@@bluediamond4662 They coulda invited Ol Joe Biden along to show his demure "shuffle" to add to the atmosphere! But yeah they talked longer than they sang! Lol!

when Doo Wop was first coined in the early70's, Jimmy G and the Passions & Tony P and the Fascinators were what Doo Wop was about. Soooo good.
Uhm, 1970s? It started in the 1940s and got big in the 1950s.
