It was perhaps 3 years ago while surfing You Tube that I came across Kenny and the Planotones. As a child of the 50's and loving the music then and now, I can only join the many others who appreciate his style and voice. The group is super!
Lyrics At Erasmus Hall High School, we used to harmonize Me and Benny and Aaron and two Italian guys We were singing oldies, but they were newies then And today when I play my old 45's, I remember when We'd practice in a subway, in a lobby or a hall Crowded in a doorway, singing doo wops to the wall And if we went to a party and they wouldn't let us sing We'd lock ourselves in the bathroom, and nobody could get in 'Cause we were looking for an echo, an answer to our sound A place to be in harmony A place we almost found And the girls would gather 'round us, and our heads would really swell We'd sing songs by the Moonglows, the Harptones, and the Dells And when we sang "Sincerely," we really sang it high Even though it was falsetto, we almost reached the sky We've sung a lot of changes since 1955 And a lot of bad arrangements we've tried to harmonize Now we've turned into oldies, but we were newies then And today when I play my old 45's, I remember when We were looking for an echo, an answer to our sound A place to be in harmony A place we almost found
his love and respect for the music, performers and our generation is unmatched----saw him live in Peekskill ny several years ago---unfortunely did not get to see him at Johnny Maestros farewell show
Legendary group and song! Had the pleasure of seeing them live in Pittsburgh in October 2019. Great show! Love Johnny Gale's strumming. One of the best.

Love this song ... The Best!!!
Amazing voice, Kenny originally sang with Jay Black in Jay and the Americans, and both still hit those notes in their 70s
Love this Group...Specially Johnny Gale...Love u Big John!!!!!
Thanks for for all the great music Kenny.
Best video of this song ever! Great job Deedee!
Great! Over the years!
Love love love…
Funny thing about this song...if it came out in the early 60s it would have been #1
He recorded it in 75 but it went nowhere
Bob Hazel You're absolutely right🎼🎼
I think that this song was on a" b" side of a record that they made in the late 50s. Not 100% sure.
Would love seeing Kenny Vance and Planotones in concert. Come to south FL ❣️

"Long live Doo Wop," the greatest sounding music to one's ear.
Great
Proving Once Again... There's only One Johnny Gale... 'Nuff said!!!... Doo-wop Dwight. Bridgeport Connecticut. Home of The Carnations and their hit Long Tall Girl...
Ol'55 (band from Melbourne) had a hit in Australia with this song in the mid 1970s. I always thought it was their own song.
Best doowop song, EVER, to be dung only by this group
Outstanding Doo Wop!
Reminds me of a group from my hometown. That opening not the singing. That guy on the guitar.
DooWop at it's best!
yes the ending is great
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
Whos the guitar player?
Johnny Gale!
Is there really any other kinda music? Nah!......Do Wop 4ever
Yes!
Oh my god oh my god .he's certainly has the gift
I gotta remember not to watch his videos while on my couch cause Everytime he hits that note I fall on my ass.
There nothing at the end of the song
At the end when they sing Acapella, the sound guy gave them an ECHO.
Yes there is Ass hole The song Darling Loraine
The guitarist looks like he high.
The guitar balances Kenny´s voice perfectly. Johnny got an award last year for his talent.

Looking for an echo
Deceptive title - anti-climactic!
You just missed it!

Ol’55 do a better version
Not impressed with Johnny Gale at all.Kenny Vance is the man.
Australian group Ol' 55 does it better
You can’t be serious. Ol 55 mainly lip syncs all their videos.
LONG LIVE DOO WOP!
AMEN ! TO THAT....ROCKINRONNY HERE.
