I have NA A306. Originally purchased 707, then realised the output was too low. For some unknown reason A306 is louder than 707, so I decided to keep it. I like the compact size, also it has very nice Sony's warm sound signature. I really enjoy listening to music on this device. Only downside is that it occasionally hiccup due to slow performance & battery life is horrible when streaming (Apple Music with Loseless, it can play about 4 hours).
The Sony NW-A306 really does have a nice sound signature, I'm happy you agree. Now the volume can be an issue but getting better via flash updates. One thing you may want to experiment with is try listing to the same music on the Sony Xperia 1V. It lacks from of the sound filters of the NW-A306 but has some advantages too (including but not limited to more volume).
Love the size of it, the USA version sound is its biggest issue as we talked about in a previous video, and the cost to import one from Japan is to much. The hiby r4 for $250 is a better buy in everyway except size, the hiby m300 is slight bigger for $150-$200. Hoping the next one doesn't have the sound restrictions. Currenty using my modded iPod classic 5th Gen, and sometimes my hidiz ap80 pro.
The Hiby M300 ( Amazon link: amzn.to/40RddRZ ) is a nice unit but still feel Sony is alittle better quality. Astell and Kern P1 has been making allot of headlines for Quality but is $450 (Amazon link: amzn.to/4exA5cd )
PS The Hilby R4 looks amazing! (Amazon link amzn.to/3YQL4Yx ) not sure the sound yet but may review in future. AND the neon green one looks cool too (Amazon link amzn.to/4i4kkwy ) - Look like wipe out vibe! Hiliby gets a A+ for looks.
It’s really meant to be used with its native app and onboard music, streaming will destroy its battery life. Replaced it with the Hiby R4 ($250) and never looked back.
Yeah I still don't get how the Sony is better than the m300. M300 has better battery, no volume restrictions, and is basically almost vanilla android. Also cheeper
@@GOZESSize the Sony is slightly smaller and half the thickness of the m300, sound on m300 is better. Also the two models I messed with the Sony had a better looking screen vs the m300.
Gotta disagree with all these posts. Got the a Japanese NW A306 and the sound is superb and I love having all my music in a device that is not tied to my phone notifications. Also really enjoyed organizing and creating my FLAC audio files. Enjoying my SONY Walkman thoroughly.
Just picked mine up for $250 a week ago and I agree it's a terrific device. Sound quality is excellent, love the long battery life, small size, and Sony's player and features. I did disable all the extra Android crap, and it feels reasonably snappy. (Wish it started up faster, though.) Of course, there are better players out there - for hundreds of dollars more - but this one is well worth the price.
Stupid purchase. I'm not carrying another device when my phone does fine. I'm not carrying around a digital camera either. Because I already have it in my pocket.
That's like saying why have a powerful computer, top gaming console as you have a cell phone that while not the best performer for a given task does just "ok".... Heck why eat tasty food when flavorless vitamin enriched food paste keeps your body alive. It's about enjoying the finer things in life before you eventually die.
A good dial up internet connection makes DSL unnecessary. A postage stamp makes email unnecessary? How about water from the toilet makes bottled water unnecessary?
@@zaandam0172 Hehe - In all seriousness its a luxury item but if you're a big enough music fan HD audio is worth a try to see if its worth the cost to you. I'm sure options may vary. a better analogy would be "Why fly first class when coach will get you there at the same time" .... Answer it's a different experience and is it worth the price.
I have an iPhone 16 Pro with a TB of storage, but I use the Hiby R4 for music because it’s fun. I also have a few Moon Drop 💿 players because 💿 are awesome.
@@johnnysleeze4389 Agreed ... You could get Sushi from a gas station (ok but....questionable quality compared to options) and You could listen to music from Cell Phone (ok but....questionable quality compared to options).
Love the yellow 💛
Thanks! Its like Retro Sony Walkman cool!

Um I thibk there are better options now. For $350 it's not worth it. Look at the new Fiio JM21 for $179
The lest expensive Fiio I see on Amazon is the M11 ( Amazon link amzn.to/3YLKGdO), its $499 and thats more than the Sony.

Love the comment, I'm pretty sure that a dedicated player is way better.
Keep going
