Something I did with mine that helped get it past that little last imperfection even after bending was put 2-3 metal washers under the top part of the bumper and putting the oem screws back in through them. This just raised the top of the bumper on that side up a few mm. Matched perfectly. Also raising those lowers the centre of the bumper just from deflection which matched the lower centre of the hood
Quite an informative video Johnathan, I would therefore assume that the tolerance issues are the same or possibly worse with a carbon fibre hood as well. As a JDM enthusiast and the owner of a highly modified Infiniti G35 sedan with a substantial amount of carbon fibre including a vented hood and duckbill carbon fibre trunk, the dimensional accuracy of aftermarket carbon fibre parts is dependant upon the mould and type of carbon fibre used i.e. pre-impregnated dry carbon fibre vs. wet carbon fibre. In case you were unaware, pre-impregnated carbon fibre has the adhesive already applied and must be stored at sub-ambient temperatures below 10C or the adhesive would activate. Once the carbon fibre is laid out in the mould in can then be placed in vacuum formed bags and then put in an autoclave oven for curing.
Looks good to me, I would have not noticed that there was a fitment issue. Your detail shows on your builds. Enjoy BMW invasion, look forward to the videos.

Great video. I was about to buy the same hood for my F32 but I saw this video just before the purchase. I will now be chatting with the body shop to check the fitment before they paint it. Thank you for the good advice.
Interesting about the rug technique 🤣, wonder if my PPF would be safe, probably when warm. I had the same fitment issue on the same side. Ours look pretty similar as far as fitment issues. I was able to mess with the bolts on the top of the front bumper and also put some washers underneath the screws on the side where the top of the bumper needed to be raised. Also adjusting the latch really helped on that side. Definitely to be expected ordering after market parts
To have better fitment of aftermarket pars like Hoods, Fenders ext... i was told to get CAPA certified parts.
The best part of the GTS hoods are yeah they look fantastic but the airflow helping keep tempts down is 👌👌👌 i would say i spent a few hours on mine getting it to about 96% good fitment and I'm just content with that but yeah aftermarket will barely ever be perfect fitment.. unless its the Kies charge pipes which btw look so good on the B58

Thanks for sharing and duly noted 👍🏽 I had an issue with a genuine E92 M3 hood due to mid year change in 2011 with hinges. So even a genuine hood could give some issues.

I took your advice about putting my f30 back to stock to sell it. It went super fast and I’m going to look at a e92 335i later today. I really hope that I can find that style of hood for the e92 because I really love it

Helpful video considering I’ve been interested in getting one but what’s the deal with the vent I’ve heard that you want to put a cover on the inside so you engine bay doesn’t flood is it something to worry about if I leave the vent fully opened and not put some kind of water protection on the inside
Mine is the passenger side, spent hours adjusting it. It’ll look good one day and another day it’ll look like shit lol. Like u said it’s a aftermarket hood, comes with it. Went to a body shop and the guy put a wooden stick under it and yanked it down, I thought he damaged it but that closed it a little more. But I don’t recommend that method at all😆

I want a gts hood so badly for my m2 it completely changes the front end look making it more square but looking at the forums kinda deters me from buying it.

Aftermarket intakes don’t clear with GTS hood. Gotta dremmel the vent

No I left mine out for a while no issues. You can clean your engine bay with warm water to remove rust and such.

Did you have any issues with the fender cameras when adding the paint match fender reflectors? I've heard there might be issues with the wires and camera itself. Did you make a video of adding those?
the camera kinda gets in the way when pushing in the old reflector and removing the old glue, besides that, i had zero issues installing it
