Vegetable Garden Update and Happy (belated) Canada Day!

Happy Canada Day! The weather is nice so I decide to take a brief tour of our vegetable garden to show how it is progressing. Luckily, we've had regular rain during much of spring and early summer so the vegetable garden is coming along well. Of course, rain also helps the weeds to grow fast too so we have spent a lot of time hoeing and hand pulling thousands of weeds. Growing your own veggie garden is a lot of work but the rewards are many.

Thanks Pat! We’ve got the garden in pretty good shape right now although certainly it could have been better planned out as far as spacing and location of crops. But it’s fine the way it is.

For the past 15 minutes, we have had a very heavy rain downpour in downtown Ottawa. Plenty of rain this spring and summer!

@@seanmitchell4382 No rain here tonight. We’re often in the rain shadow of Lake Ontario (when it comes to convective development). Inflowing southern lake breezes and rising topography carry storm development further inland up towards Hwy 7 and we get only clear or partly cloudy skies.

Beautiful garden Herve. In Alberta, we are SO far behind as we got frost in mid-June. 😩

Thanks Krista! How are the gardens there doing? Sounds like a lot of roofing activity going on eh? By the way, many thanks for all your visits with Grandpa. Sounds like he’s going through another rough spell. We’ll get up again when we are fully cold free. Not too long from now.
