The dogs and I head to the village of Yarker to walk the Cataraqui Trail, west from Yarker to just beyond Curl Road and back. Though the day is cloudy, it is warm and humid and I thought it might be interesting to see what insect life and other small creatures might be active. This section of trail cuts through "alvar" habitat that is becoming increasingly rare. As such it is also possible to find species here that utilize alvar habitat and they too can be uncommon or rare.

A very beautiful video Todd! Thank you very much for all of your hard work, and sharing your many talents! Absolutely wonderful photography, of so much beauty in nature, we may not always spot. Or identify. I like this alvar landscape. This video is such a great treat to enjoy before the long weekend. Thank you, and happy Canada Day weekend! Pat
