Van Life in Ireland: Our Shocking North Coast Experience

- Lost in the wilderness of Northern Ireland. Vanlife this week had been full of Wild Swimming, Island hopping, storms and sunshine! Our home country has never felt so beautiful. Rathlin Island of the north coast of Antrim was full of quiet natural beauty, and some very special residents! Amongst the thousands of sea birds on the coastal cliffs we spotted some puffins!! The weather is typical Northern Ireland with rain and sun and storm all in one day.
The giants causeway is one of the top spots to visit in Northern Ireland for good reason. We were blessed with clear skies during our visit and enjoyed seeing it with fresh eyes after all these years.
We finish off the birthday celebrations with a wild swim on the Atlantic Ocean in Ballycastle. The bitter cold water brought us to life. You never regret a swim!!

⤈ WHO WE ARE ⤈
We are Philly and Keely and we live full time in our tiny home on wheels Martha. After building our DIY home in a Citroen Relay camper we spent a year living on the streets of London before quitting our jobs only to be met with lockdown. Then we took our van further than she had ever been before to the very beautiful Turkey. Enroute we stopped off in Spain for a few weeks where we experienced every van lifers worst nightmare, we were robbed and they stole all valuables in our van. But now we are back on our feet, fully MOT’d and back on the road through Europe before we experienced another vanlife nightmare... our van caught fire! After the trauma of that we had a massive change of plan and have now made our way to Japan. We are starting a Japanese road trip and excited to bring you all along.

Hi again. I watched your vlog with Tom & Iz and enjoyed it. I do have concerns about their plan of relocating to West Cork. Did you talk about it with them and did they say anything about what research they had done? I know it's a romantic idea but I think it is a mistake. I love their vlogs and I am thinking about them when I say this.
We have talked alot about it and they are talking to professional about the laws etc that apply to them as foreigners renting land in cork. They will make the right decision. It's only temporary until the day comes they can buy land of their own with a little cottage or something already on it.

I totally agree with you about the cost of attractions for families, I have brought up 3 children and I can honestly say that I felt guilty about not being able to afford to take my family to certain places but that said as they have grown up they have said that they never felt they missed out and got to do and go places other children never did.

Unfortunately I’m not watching in you in order so I’m not sure where we are with this episode but Happy Birthday Keely 🎂 I hope you had a lovely day. Skellig, Michael for puffin viewing it’s just the best! I went there in 2018 and puffins were literally nesting a phone away from us as we walked up Skellig Michael to the beehive Heights so well worth doing and then you get to see whales and dolphins on the way out there

As well as parking in Portbalintrea - you can also park at the start of the tramway in Bushmills for free and walk down its just under 2 miles from there
- do a 5/6mile circuit down round the causeway and back everyday... and im so gutted i missed seeing you guys, i have been following you ever since you featured in the videos with Lost in Transit

I was just telling my partner that I really want to go to the Giant's Causeway! I will be in Dublin with him in June, then going to a wedding in NI, then traveling a bit, so hopefully we will get there! xo ❤❤

You can get close to puffins off the coast of Anglesey. There's a boat trip to, wait for it, the clue is in the name, Puffin Island from Beaumaris. I've done the trip twice. Well worth it.
I got halfway to the causeway many yrs ago, my kids were complaining it was too far to walk... 😕.
