Takes courage to show your mistakes! But by doing that it makes your show relatable to the audience and allows us to learn. You’ll get your redemption next year!
Showing this miss is very painful but that's how it went down. Nothing sinks the lesson in more than editing and seeing it over and over and sharing it!!! Yikes!!!
Work that hard to have it fall apart, been there. Actually working on a video right now where I spent 19 straight days chasing bulls in the backcountry just to botch my one opportunity. It still hurts to watch the footage. Hopefully I will get over it soon, bow season is coming fast. Great video by the way
@@406highlanders cheers! Thanks for leaving the comment and sharing my pain. I am just traveling back from killing the same ram on the first this year. Super redemption.
Great Vid. Too bad about the shot! Thats why I replaced the scope on my main rifle. No more windage and elevation adjustable scopes for me. I figure mine was "mal-adjusted", from putting it in and out of my rifle case. Didn't check it before the shot , and the Elk walked (ran). It was an easy peasy 200 yard shot too!
We spent a half hour and clearly aged him at 8.5. Video footage does not do it justice but we could clearly count through a 60x Swaro spotter. Would not have shot if I had any doubt.
Thanks! Very painful!! The sheep was at 215 yards which was my zero but the elevation turret was wound up to around 700 yards. Huge mistake as I was completely calm and took about a half hour getting set up perfectly and missed that it was wound up!! Heading back to the same spot this year.

I feel your pain!
That is a Heartbreakers for sure. No dials for me on my scopes. Keep it simple works for me.
I love shooting steel too and have never been a hold over guy but this was a pretty tough pill.
I had that ram at 7 with all the footage you showed.
Things happen for interesting reasons…..

It could have been worse with a bad hit
I completely agree!
Id say my turret was maxxed out too😉
There a zero cuts in the edit and that’s exactly how it played out…. Still hurts!
Nice try that look like a nice sheep better luck next year. How far was that shot?

Shit happens man, I bet that will be the last time you do that though. Too bad it was on a sheep though! Good luck this year
@@jamesl2697 let’s just say that the lesson was well earned!

What scope are you using ash? Does it have a zero lock?
