I died laughing at 8:05 when a ship's foghorn goes off during your voiceover. You didn't think maybe you should do a second take for that one?? XD
"It's obviously very quiet... BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRP"
Just in time it’s like telling the pedestrians off to cross the road quick 😂
We edited that in for a laugh! No ships around that area!
Nice review as usual. Loving the electric content, in spite of my love for real bikes
Cheers!
Real bikes like this is made up, just call it electric big boy
As soon as the range is 250 ….this will be a winner . It’s a winner now but you need to map your journey. Not yet a spur of the moment detour change as you will always need to take your range into account , yes you need to do that to the internal combustion engine but generally fuel stations are in every suburb. Your charge fill up is only at home or a willing stop over for a few hours . I still say it’s a winner if you know your to and from journey.
Awesome looking bike the styling is fantastic. Would really consider this bike!
Mate I bought one, love it. Ride to work daily. Cheap Rego. Cheap to run and Super Fun
How long have you been using it?
@@BikeReviewcomau About month or more mate
Steve Ball I also have one too and have done about 1,500kms. Big grin on my face every time I ride it. As a commuter bike, it works brilliantly.
How does the acceleration compare? I'm thinking about one to replace my 278cc scooter but am worried it will be too slow off the line?
@@gooble69 it's fast enough from standing traffic but nothing like my 650cc.
Please do a review on the 2023 model!
Thanks. Do you still have your moto ? Are you always happy in 2022-05 ? good road
Very nice bike, I like it been looking around for an electric affordable bike for a few years. The US bike Zero is just too expensive. But this is perfect. Thanks for the detailed review.
No problem, best of luck! Jeff.
@@BikeReviewcomau Are they coming to United states
95k top speed, 110k range, so you can't really take it on a highway or on any decent day ride. It is a good commuter bike if you don't need to go on a highway.
Pretty much sums it up mate, cheers.
This looks like Umina ? Cool bike btw
At 6.00 we see the sideview with rider .. The Pinion Passenger doesn't get much space.? No centre stand ?.. What fault would cause that Anti- theft wheel lock to come on at speed?
How much is rego
I've been waiting years for an affordable electric bike for commuting and it looks like we're almost there. Having owned a bunch of scooters, a 125cc equivalent is still too flimsy even for commuting. I've owned a 125cc, 180cc, 278cc and 650cc and something around a 250cc is the sweet spot. Quick enough not to be an obstacle, but small enough to cut through traffic :)
Check out Evoke Urban series. I've got my eye on that. Drive a CB300R gas bike right now.
Yeah I've had a 125, a few 250s, 750 and 650. Also driven some larger ones as well. As fun as the big bikes are for pure speed the 250s are nice for the daily commute and fun to ride.
Do you know how does the servicing and maintenance goes with this bike?
We don't know a lot about it but is is going to be basic general servicing, probably every 5000km or so, we have emailed SuperSOCO to ask more info.
Nice vid thanks for that.
The bike seems quiet small or is it just you being rather tall?
It's tiny - halfway between a mountain bike and an MX bike in size...
Nice review. At first I thougt you were driving on the wrong lane until I realized its in Australia...
Cheers!
There's rumours that Super Soco are working on a faster 10amp charger for these too, from the stock 5amp one. 😁
I've had one on order since March, but due to C19 taking ages. My brother is a Sparky he's going to make up harness so I can charge at 15amp. As battery is 45amp, still way below 1C.
Unfortunately the support from Vmoto if you every have any issues is a lot to be desired. I have a issue with the plug on the battery and it has been in the dealers shop for 3 months now and it took them 3 weeks to pick up!...still waiting!
Holy moly - which country?
What's the rego cost for one of these in Australia?
Would be a State by State thing.
Whats with the washing machine type chimes on the bike ?
Some weird welcome note! I agree, sounds like the washing is ready to hang out!
Is that a clutch on the left or a rear brake? And can you change gearing if you want a bit more go or a bit more top speed?
No clutch lever, just brakes levers like on a bicycle. It does have a switch on the right-hand controls; three speed presets. Handy for speed limits in the neighbourhood.
I reckon it'd pull slightly taller gearing but maybe only a few teeth on the back. Might get that magic 100km/h
is the bike good quality? will it last a few good years ya reckon?
3 year warranty, at least here in the UK anyway. I'm about to buy one.
What did the Rego cost in Vic??
Hopefully cheaper than a petrol bike to encourage the market to expand.
It varies depending on your experience as a rider (beginner or years of experience) and where you live. In my case, I live in an area of the UK where there's theft hotspots. (Was quoted £1000+ for comprehensive/£90 per month) Feel free to call out the insurers on this biased approach, I have.
Thanks, but wanting to know Registration costs in Victoria Australia, our Authorities have very little info on Electric vehicles
Hopefully Geoff can answer this one?
@@VISATcomms Not sure mate - I have emailed Super SOCO. Jeff
Rego $300 bucks per year. Which is great. Victoria.
Steve Ball Thanks for the info. Cheaper than a full size road bike so thats good.
Pretty keen on one. Daily I wouldn't be on the highway but would be nice to have the capability. How bad is it on highway 100km/h traffic?
100km/h highway, it would not do it Top speed is 95km/h and sustained at 95, I reckon you would be lucky to get 40km...
Cheers for that. Very tempting but being able to hit 100 at least for a few kms would be needed. The impact to range I could deal with but being stuck on a highway and not being able to keep up doesn't sound like fun. Guess the next bike will be petrol.
@@SSd4zz4 is there a way to derestrict it to get more than 95 kph? Would need at leat 100 kph capability to keep up with traffic, otherwise it’s just dangerous.
@@BikeReviewcomaurobably 80 km/h with front wind. And in the slopes probably less
The sound so cool, It's the elevtricalbike have a manual option?
There is no transmission. It's an electric motor, not an engine.
Imagine asking for a manual option on an eletric bike, which has mostly downsides to a normal petrol bike, are you okay? 💀
Whom got the highest mileage super soco tc max an has it been reliable
Looks like a nice option and I can live with avoiding highways on my daily commute but I would need at least 100 km range and preferably slightly more. This bike seems to be just short of that.
110km it alleges
@@supersonic249 yeah going 40.
Going 80+ stop and go and this thing barely makes it 60km. Absolute garbage.
And they wonder why escooters are a thing. Mine goes 70 and does 80km going 25kmh....
Battery is 72V/45aH not 60/30
Wow, how many ads?
is this weather proof?
Haha! I hope you’re joking.
can i drive this on car license?
No unfortunately you need a full bike licence.
A bit more power and distance and I'll be looking to get one.
Could you do a review on the previous TC model? It's got slight more range, uses a hub motor but 15mph less. Mainly aimed at the 50-80cc rider market. Still looks lovely.
Might be hard to get a bike up here to NSW from Victoria at the moment but I'll ask them if they can ship one up.
I heard these were tubeless? Is that true? Lots of nails where i commute. Id like something that self seals
Good question, I'll ask the importer. Jeff.
Hi Robie - I just confirmed with them that it is a tube type rim on the spoked wheeled version. Cheers, Jeff.
@@BikeReviewcomau thanks man :)
Its good you tried it on a hill though it wasn't clear what speed you were at near the top. A lot of commuters live in hilly cities and that will be the acid test for those buyers.
Wasn't fast, probably only around 45km/h before turning around at the end. Was a VERY steep incline, the steepest I could find in my area.
Can you ride these with a car license
No, it’s is rated the same as a 125cc petrol motorbike. Need a LAMS license in Australia.
Any motorcycle or scooter in Australia needs a state motorcycle licence.
@@kazadventures 50cc or under you only need a car license
@@PrimeministerAus depends on the state. Not all states allow under 50cc scooters on your car license.
@@SSd4zz4 QLD does....👍🏼
In between a motorbike and a mountain bike. Not even close. Way more towards a motorbike if not same as almost.
I disagree there is a bright future for electric motorcycles. $8000 for a motorcycle that has a range at best 110klms and takes 9 hours to charge. If people are delayed 9 minutes at a petrol Stn they become very impatient. Until batterycharge times and how far they can travel dramatically improve motorcyclists won’t buy them.
At the moment I guess the expense will be high until they are developed, and hopefully battery tech and charge tech improves.
Most people who commute don't sit waiting for their electric vehicle to charge.
They plug it in when they get home. When they go to work in the morning they have a full battery again. It's like waking up with a full tank in your commuter scooter every morning.
They save time not having to swing by the petrol station to fill up.
@@Hebdomad7 There are many example where electrics won’t work. In your job you have to travel from site to site with no access to electricity. Soon range anxiety will start happening. Your boss asks you to keep working for overtime sorry boss my scooter is running out of electricity. You arrive home from work with barely enough charge. The boys/girls ring up to meet up for a feed and drink, sorry my scooter is out of electricity or that special finally asks you over for a romantic dinner, sorry Not me but my scooter has run out of charge. Just a few examples I’m sure people have or will experience many more. I’m all for electric vehicles and I hope the technology keeps improving to make them a practical mode of transport.
I agree 1/3 of a day to charge it for a paultry 110kms is just too little for me to and $8000 for this experience is just too much
Peter waits 3 hours for his phone to finish charging where most normal people put it on charge while they sleep
Looks good
cool 👍
Sorry for $8000 dollars hardly a world changer 110kms on one charge then 8 to 9 hrs charging the thing so 1/3 of a day charging it and then a paultry 110kms approx travelling range I'm sorry but electric bikes are going to have to get a lot better before I spend $8000 on one I suppose you could always buy 3 or 4 batteries and 3 or 4 chargers but I guess these will cost more than the whole bike I say 3 or 4 chargers because 4 batteries would take 36hrs to charge using 1 charger and then you have approx 440kms travelling distance just like having to call into a service station every 110kms to fill up with fuel⛽ But yes they are quiet have reasonable acceleration but how many times can you charge the battery till it's kaput its not like your buying a 300 dollar hammer drill batteries for those are astronomical in cost imagine how much a battery costs for this bike and there's no aftermarket batteries so they can charge whatever they like, if you can get a new battery or would you have to buy another bike No not for me I'm afraid I will just have to stick to the old combustion engine and get 500kms per tank
Is it made in china?
Yes it is - cheers
@@BikeReviewcomau then it is disqualified.
@Stephen Lee LOL!!!! I dont know whether to laugh or cry....Is it the most technologically advanced nation too?
