    Thanks very much! Your experience having used for sometime is incredibly valuable particularly as I also live in London. I was looking at the TC 1500 but it seems a little underpowered. As other commenters said, it would be fantastic to have a follow-up review after the second service, which I think is 3000 miles. Another owner had to replace not only the brake pads with the actual disks as well, and his total cost of ownership formula didn’t look quite as compelling as perhaps many thought.

    Hi just a word on security. You shouldn't show you number plate.
    You are giving away your personal data.
    Best regards John

    • @flitsies
      @flitsies 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In the UK it doesn't really matter everyone sees your number plate in the UK, you can't get peoples address from their number plate in the UK unless you are law enforcement in which case everyone's number plate is open to law enforcement, just not general public.
      Even if you take down a number plate and go to the police they will not give out someone's address based on a number plate unless you have official documents, in the case of an accident they will contact the other party and follow it up but they will not issue somebodies address simply based on a number plate.
      So showing a number plate in the UK is of no real significance, maybe in other countries it is an issue but not the UK.

    • @flitsies
      @flitsies 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@despertamos9923 Well thats a problem for the govt to sort out because by law we must display the number plate for everyone to see, so be it online or on the road it makes no difference.

    • @flitsies
      @flitsies 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@despertamos9923 Well no because we have to by law display the plate, we have no choice.
      We can do nothing about someone cloning a plate the people who clone plates can just walk around and pick a random number that they see.
      But for your vehicle to go on the road it must display the plate.
      So like I said it makes no difference if your plate is displayed online in the UK because for the vehicle to go on the road the plate must be displayed.

    • @flitsies
      @flitsies 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@despertamos9923 Yes I agree that you should not put put personal info online that is not in question, but in the UK numberplate are not normally personal, they are only related to the vehicle and does not usually change, only the keeper of the vehicle changes, and that info is only privy to the authorities, but the number being seen makes no difference at all.
      Some people rake up thousands of miles every week with the same number plate.

    Do you ride with a passenger? If so, what is your total weight? Id like to ride with my fiancee but we total at around 160kg. Would this hurt the bike too much? (Range, acceleration)

      @flitsies 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would suggest you check the specifications as motorcycles usually state the maximum weight they can carry safely before handling becomes an issue or parts start to fail.
      But 160 kgs doesn't seem excessive to me as most small Escooters can carry upwards of around 140 kgs so this with full suspension should be ok unless it's made really badly, but check the specs or contact the dealer would have that info or get that info.

  • @flitsies
    @flitsies 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Just another thought on the subject of this bike, what is the charging amperage? Wouldn't a simple 13A extension do the trick rather than fitting out a special cable to charge with.
    I charged a Vectrix vx1 with a generator once 13 A max charge no problems no special cables needed, the charger takes what it can deliver.
    Most house hold plugs are usually not much more than 13 A anyway and you can plug that directly into a wall socket, so I believe, it's not like a cooker which needs more amps to work.
    These are nice bikes for small people but not much fun if you are big, they seem under powered, I have a 1000 watts Escooter which when pushed can go 25 mph and I'm not small, so why these are so slow is a mystery.

    • @FlyingFun.
      @FlyingFun. 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a few ebikes both DIY conversions and a mid drive bafang ultra, 25 to 30 mph is a easy enough task but after that wind resistance comes into play in a big way, add to that the weight of this bike and the limited speed is easily explained I guess, to push much faster requires lot of power and so very inefficient.
      Much better aerodynamics are required for bikes as well as better batteries if we are gonna have fast ele tric bikes with decent range.

    • @flitsies
      @flitsies 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FlyingFun. Yep for sure the more speed you want the power you need, but double the power won't give you double the speed, but it will get you up a hill better.
      The Americans have it about right 750 watts and a certain weight restriction so if you are heavy you can still ride, they also have more powerful ebikes of various classes.
      Basically even fat people can ride, however EU and UK laws basically make it almost impossible for fat people to start riding.

    I would suggest for your keys putting one of those plastic chains on it and attaching it to either the bike or your belt that way if you forget to remove the key it won't fall very far, of course if it's on your belt it won't go anywhere anyway, but if attached to the bike then it will just hang on the chain.
    I believe they are called plastic spiral clips, but just one word of warning if using one of these due to them being plastic they will break, so what I do is attach a shoe lace from the ring through the spiral to the other ring at the opposite end of the spiral, that way if the spiral breaks as they do, the lace saves your keys, double protection.

Assuming you still have your TC Max, has it lived up to expectations or has it started to fall apart? Would you still buy one if you had the benefit of hindsight?
