Stay with the v6 platform for boost, it's been done before by a guy named Brent thuman I believe he has the fastest 7th gen accord runs low 9s it's insane
I want to do this to my 2004 manual so bad. This is amazing to see on the same car as mine and not the v6 for once. Ok I gotta ask though, how bad is the gas miallge now cause I know it's origionally like almost 40?
I haven't really pay attention to it but it's really not that bad , I get about 220miles out of 7gallons or so so that's about 31mpg ,really depends if there's traffic and how you are on throttle
2.4l auto's from forum post i saw with mild upgrades like bigger and better cooling with 15k milage atf changes. its lucky to even keep that tranny cool with heavy usage on a barebones motor no tuning. Manual are the saving grace for your wallet long term. im still learning about this platform, i dont know exactly whats all available in terms of auto trans internals for the platform, (note still a honda newbie)
I would recommend getting a auto trans rebuilt with new stock internals and a new trq converter, it should withstand 350hp boosted a good turbo manifold will help with the trq not killing the trans quickly it is doable
Hey man I just bought an 06 accord k24a8, do u think the process should be the same? Should I manual swap it? What would u recommend because I can’t find many videos like urs. Any help will be great from anyone :)
The process will be nearly the same , except you either gotta find a manual or acquire all the manual parts , trans,mounts/shifter and cables/hydraulic line/ clutch master /slave then then a manual engine harness, I have seen people turbo there automatic k24 accords, they use a 05 accord ecu auto or mnaual but it needs to be a 05 for sure ,and use the ktuner end user to tune it
My engine bay caught fire from my motor leaking on passenger side axel and it flung it on my engine harness touched my engine harness on my turbo 3inch down pipe and caught fire so I highly recommend a turbo blanket/ heat wrap on the downpipe, and fixed oil leaks I hade bot but no wrap on the downpipe
@ssjwlliam4752 yes and no , depends on previous owner maintenance really, some people run 300-500 hp on stock transmission, others like me keep shredding stock gear synchros around 330hp , if your doing roll racing it will be easier then consistent line launches that puts more stress on parts
If I have a automatic transmission would I have to convert to a higher torque converter stall for the turbo build, especially if I plan to keep it automatic?
@@2point4turbo thank you for the information I was planning on keeping the car’s transmission stock automatic for me. Also thanks for the series, gave me the idea of force inducting my 7th gen Accord I4
Hi I have 07 Honda accord coupe and I wanted to make an all motor build but one of the things I'm confused is tuning. I have k24a8 with couple mods (air intake, exhaust, headers) but idk if I should get hondata or k tuner and even then how would I be able to get it tuned. I heard there's people that put a chip into your ECU and others had to get hondata ECU to work with it. I'm new to trying to get my car first tune and wanted to know by anyone's personal experience on how they got it tuned. (btw I forgot to mention mines an auto later on I'm gonna manual swap it :D)
so first all you would ktune rend user r1 its a chip you need installed from a local dealer that sells/installs them or you can order a whole done ecu from here www.hamotorsports.com/products/ktuneruserboard you send in your ecu they chip it and send it back . you cannot run hondata with out completly wiring in the ecu into you wire harnes or you can spend roughly 3k and run you stock accord ecu with a boomslang dual ecu harness adapter and runa standalone ecu like haltech elite 1500 tjis option will be plug and play mad nice but also mad expensive
Hey I’m new to your channel and I have two questions. How fast have you reached And I was wondering if you had any extra parts that you’re willing to donate to my build
@DONTE I'm still tryna figure out what style I want to go with but honestly I really like boostedboiz/cleetus mcfarland style aswell as gears and gasoline, once I get a gimble for my camera quality would be alot better you can check out my other channel @sikkraz3r
I have a 2004 accord it’s full jdm motor and tranny but I still want to go turbo can u please give me the info of what u looked up including injections cuz it’s hard to find parts for that car
As far as I know, as long as the engine has been took care of, you don't need to tear it apart. What it has in it is strong enough for up to 400hp and a little more. But if your taking a K24A with a couple hundred thousand miles on it, I would back down and have it tuned to about 300-330hp so you don't have to worry about something catastrophic happening. If you decided to do it, I hope everything works out great for you and you end up with an awesome daily drivable turbo toy. @@kpraz
Get a sidewinder much better fitment then a obx top mount or a log manifold , k20/k24 sidewinder are the same thing there's no specific one for accord but tsx/rsx/elements are same shi
Can you realistically turbo a K24A8 auto trans on an 06?? I've heard the A8 is substantially more difficult to turbo than the A4 out of the earlier 7th gens and I've been wanting to turbo mine, but I won't do it if it's not worth the effort.
I don't see any difference from the k24a4 auto and a a8 there slight motor difference but essentially is the same as my method just the Trans is different, there is some on in Austin TX with a turbo k24a4 automatic 03 coupe that he tracks so I don't see why you couldn't either there is a option for auto or manual turbo cats in ktuner aswell
Thanks for letting people know you Can turbocharge a K24A4 Automatic. I am super excited that I'm about to finish mine. I had a friend that started helping me and told me he knew all about it,,, I have had to take everything he touched back apart and hope the turbo is still ok. If not, I have a couple more brand new turbos from Maxpeedingrods I can throw on it, thankfully. I am also building a KA24DET from block to the head, all Tomei parts, but after my Accord I have recently got a nice hook up on some cool OBX Racing Sports parts ( I have never used any of there stuff before) for my wide body 1997 Civic HX. After I finish my Honda's and my fav 1993 wide body hatchback 240, I am going BMW with a 528i with plans to twin turbo it's straight 6. I know I could do better with just one turbo, I just want to be able to say Twin Turbo, lol. I may do a smaller turbo to get some boost in the low range and then a larger one at the higher end. I have studied up on it and it sounds like a nice challenge. Anyway, Thanks again and if you have any tips for me on anything, please let me know because I am doing all the work by myself and doing the turbo thing is all new to me and really doing the Honda's to get my feet wet before starting on the 240, it's my baby and everything has to be perfect on it, no less. Wishing everyone a great night.@@2point4turbo
@gary4904 that's dope man yea just really all I can say is research research and save up and buy once tbh , I did it a little to half ass and now I'm regretting not getting the stuff I needed from the start aka heat shield and more heat wrap on my wires cause I burned them up so now I gotta replace my engine harness and coolant hose so take heat from the turbos into consideration
@@2point4turbo Thank you and I sure will be doing what you told me. I always try to do anything I do right the first time. My friend really cost me a lot more time and money, but having to take everything he did back apart made me go ahead and do even more. Also gaining way more knowledge about it all which was why I needed to do because of what I said about my 240. I have seen K24 engine wiring harness's on EBay for around $35-$50, so I'm glad that it wouldn't brake the bank for you. Before ordering one, is there any way you can repair the wires that were damaged? I have worked in the electronics business for close to 30 years and have repaired way worse than your harness could be. I also have a little problem with my coolant hose in the firewall. It is touching the turbine's housing. I am going to try to see if I have the right size of some G-Plus hoses I have a lot of and replace it, But for the time I took some of a larger size hose and split it down the middle and slipped it over it and wire tied it into place. I have replaced or upgraded so much more than I had planned and I have had a great time working on it all. Even gained some new friends from companies I have been using and super happy about all the free parts that companies have sent me. I would be very proud of what all you have done on your Accord, even if you say you did it a little too half ass. I think you did a better job than most could hope to do. About the heat problem you said something about, I am doing a custom heat shield and custom 1.5'' pipping with electric fans going to where the turbo sits to keep the temp down for the whole area. I am also thinking about do a hood scoop and cutting my hood out to keep it cooler too. I'm proud of my work so far and wish I could send you a pic of it so far.
@@2point4turbo Another thing about your heat problem, I had an idea about taking some aluminum house ducked pipping, I used 6'' round ducked pipe and cut it down the middle and folded the sharp edges and rapped it around my down pipe. I did blue header rap on the custom down pipe I made first, then did my idea and used stainless steel header ties to hold it in place. I did like 5 header ties on it to make sure it would stay firmly in place. I'm sure with all I have done, so I think it should really stay much cooler than what most people would do. Maybe try doing what I did. You can get the ducked pipping cheap and the header ties are not much ether.
Hey man, I have a 03 cm4 accord as well. K24a4 5 speed. I have a turbo installed. Now I’ve read online that you can’t use the stock ecu for hondata? Is that true ?
What maf sensor are you running? I turbod an 07 k24, ktuner, bigger injectors but now when it gets into boost it pops super loud out the exhaust. I have downpipe and a cherrybomb lol. Sounds like i run over a miniture horse. I change stuff in the ktuner charts but results seem the same. I could drown it with fuel and still runs the same o2 readings as normal.
I have the stock maf rewired to a Gm style speed density , I would highly suggest taking it to a proper tuner till you have a better understanding at what your editing with cause you run the risk of melting a piston or leaning it out and both are no bueno
@@josephbenson3757 my tuner set it up and wired it for me i would have money up for it befor bugging people about it cause time is money i personally dont like to waste peoples time esp with out money in had , first step get the car to a tuner and see what they say first ask them all the questions you might have so have your notes ready
Thank you, I haven't been uploading much recently, I started a new job saving some money for better equipment and more car parts plans are sidewinder and haltech ecu for it so sub and stay tuned it means alot 🤗
Currently as is with a proper tune or injectors ,but dyno says 210-230whp on like 8psi maxed out stock injectors and 13.0afr so it's little Rickey I definitely need injectors lol
Working on boosting mine and looking to see what other people have done for turbo location, this is an incredibly well detailed video. How’s the motor holding up to boost over the long run?
Um extremely sorry I haven't replied, the cars engine bay caught fire and I have just felt like absolutely shit with my mother passing I haven't done anything to fix it ,I'll try and get a video update on it
No cause the pistons in the stock a4 accord will hit the valves on a a2 head , so you gotta replace the pistons, I figured if ima already gonna swap to a2 pistons might aswell just build the bottom end at that point, so it's not just a viable option for minimum gains when turboed ,it's alot boosted gonna make good power just the power band would be better but na , stock a4 motor or boost will take 500hp with a good proper tune , honestly a great turbo manifold does wonder so your not forcing more boost to compensate the lack of decent flow
@@2point4turbo oh okay, I honestly had no clue the a2 head would make piston on valve contact, nobody talks about that in the vids I’ve seen of putting the a2 heads on the a4 bottom end

I wish there was a video on how to turbo the Accord, I’m trying to turbo my automatic but I’m having trouble finding the right kit & how to do it.
really i pieced it all together honesly a rsx or a tsx kit would work with slight modifcations to the inter cooler piping
Could the AT manually lock-up clutch(solenoid), make it like a MT?
lol dumb question

Great video man. I am thinking of adding a turbo to my K24Z2. What would be powerful and safe for the engine daily build?
Anything around 300-400hp is safe on them after that you run the risk of shooting a rod out due to the trq same issue with all accord motors but if you do some good supporting mods you'll make that with breeze also new video being uploaded soon
that dyno graph had me rolling lmaooooo
loved the editing lol, subbed mainly cuz of that and also because i liked how u explained everything, i alos just got a 9th gen honda accord V6, and trying to learn how to mod it, any tips?

Cold air intake can be good, if you want to go far you could change the cam, headers, and exhaust which will make a difference because Hondas love to breathe
Changing the cam to a 35-45 degree from the stock 25 vtec/ I-vtec

I got a 2006 accord j35 swap. It’s got reground cams, injectors pnp intake, j pipe. The basics/could say fbo almost. I make 300 to the wheels right now and want to go turbo. Just wondering if I should stay with the v6 platform or not. Any thoughts and ideas?
Stay with the v6 platform for boost, it's been done before by a guy named Brent thuman I believe he has the fastest 7th gen accord runs low 9s it's insane
I want to do this to my 2004 manual so bad. This is amazing to see on the same car as mine and not the v6 for once. Ok I gotta ask though, how bad is the gas miallge now cause I know it's origionally like almost 40?
I haven't really pay attention to it but it's really not that bad , I get about 220miles out of 7gallons or so so that's about 31mpg ,really depends if there's traffic and how you are on throttle
dudue sick car i bet its tonsa fun. awseom dyno graph holy tits... igot a turbo accord too!

Lol awesome!
is it not viable to do this for the same generation but for automatic? thoughts please? i have a 4 cyl and 6 cyl
Just seeing this now, process is exact same
I would recommend getting a auto trans rebuilt with new stock internals and a new trq converter, it should withstand 350hp boosted a good turbo manifold will help with the trq not killing the trans quickly it is doable
appreciate the response
@ElogantFitness yea man no problem 😎
Lowkey think the cold air intake took some hp off, I got the same car and cai

This is a four-cylinder?
Yes its a honda k24a4
Hey can i know if the car is still running man, if yes ngl i wanna go the same path you did
My engine bay caught fire from my motor leaking on passenger side axel and it flung it on my engine harness touched my engine harness on my turbo 3inch down pipe and caught fire so I highly recommend a turbo blanket/ heat wrap on the downpipe, and fixed oil leaks I hade bot but no wrap on the downpipe
Would a stock trans handle 300-400whp? Sorry am new to car scene but I love Honda/Acura
@ssjwlliam4752 yes and no , depends on previous owner maintenance really, some people run 300-500 hp on stock transmission, others like me keep shredding stock gear synchros around 330hp , if your doing roll racing it will be easier then consistent line launches that puts more stress on parts
What kit looks good on the 7th gen??I need help I want to mod mine but i dont know what bumper to get front and rear . I have the lx version tho
I have no idea I have just what ever the stock ex came with no body attachments or anything I haven't even looked at any since I got the car
If I have a automatic transmission would I have to convert to a higher torque converter stall for the turbo build, especially if I plan to keep it automatic?
I'm not sure they make after market upgraded trq converters but it would be wise to replace with a new while going down the turbo route

(btw I forgot to mention mines an auto later on I'm gonna manual swap it :D)
so first all you would ktune rend user r1 its a chip you need installed from a local dealer that sells/installs them or you can order a whole done ecu from here
www.hamotorsports.com/products/ktuneruserboard
you send in your ecu they chip it and send it back . you cannot run hondata with out completly wiring in the ecu into you wire harnes
or you can spend roughly 3k and run you stock accord ecu with a boomslang dual ecu harness adapter and runa standalone ecu like haltech elite 1500 tjis option will be plug and play mad nice but also mad expensive

wdym you painted the intercooler, doesnt that affect the cooling?
Honestly I don't make alot of hp for it to affect it at all, so not a real issue yet
16s thankssss was thinking about this.. if it could beat an eg😅
If it makes you feel better I did a test hit on the street and it did 13s at 84mph so the turbo with just under double the hp made a 3 sec difference
@@2point4turbo so stock with just the turbo made it to the 13s?
As far as I know, as long as the engine has been took care of, you don't need to tear it apart. What it has in it is strong enough for up to 400hp and a little more. But if your taking a K24A with a couple hundred thousand miles on it, I would back down and have it tuned to about 300-330hp so you don't have to worry about something catastrophic happening. If you decided to do it, I hope everything works out great for you and you end up with an awesome daily drivable turbo toy. @@kpraz

Where can I get a manifold for a turbo I have a 2004 Honda accord ex 2.4 brotha I been looking but I can’t find anything
You need ktuner end user on a 05 accord ecu manual or auto
@@2point4turbo thanks man. 05 and up or 05 specifically?
@boostedlawnmower9955 05 specifically, ktuner has a list of compatible rad ecus

I have an 04 accord ex manual k24, I wanna turbo it but btw did you ever think abt putting the k24a2 head or a k20 head on to make more power
