Turbo charging a car isn't as scary as some people think. Although every car is going to be different, this video should get you started on your research to put your own turbo kit together.

Are we forgetting one of the most important things about any application of forced induction???? No mention of piston ring end GAP doesnt matter how much crap you put on it or tuning if your ring gap is to tight the new found cylinder pressure and heat will cause butting of the ring ends and basically break the ring land on top of the piston. Sure it may work for a while but no matter what its gonna happen. All do yourself a favor pull pistons out of engine and file down your rings before adding forced induction than you are good. its your money free advice
Important detail regarding the turbo coolant lines. Thermosyphon effect. Angle the CHRA and plumb cooler water to lower port and out of high port. Eg water feed from bottom of engine block, through the turbo and returned to top tank of radiator

been thinking of turbo charging my NA 1.8l engine for a while now, obviously after I do a full rebuild with forged internals that can handle well over 1000 HP. It's going to be far in the future when I get started on everything because I dont have the money nor the time right now, if I had the money and then some I'd drop it off at a mechanic, I have one nearby that I trust a lot, they helped me fix my car when I bought it because there was a lot of work that needed to be done to it before I could get it licensed. They trust me, I trust them. Only thing I dont trust anyone with is brakes, oil, and fluid changes, I do all those myself. But hopefully soon I'll have money saved up and time on my hands to get started on making my car my dream car.
@@MZopyrus id shoot for like 380 honestly, I don’t think I’d need more for a daily, the turbo kit can hold like 450 I think so my expectations will be more then reliable.

Every video i watch on turbocharging your car, i never hear anyone mention ring gap. Does a naturally aspirated engine have different gaping than a turbocharged one? I have an Mercedes M180 engine from about 1964 in an Unimog 404 and i would like to charge it a bit because i live in very high altitude and i can feel it starving of air. Is there any way i can just bolt a Turbo on it without many sensors so it doesnt change the Power much just counters the thin air in high altitude?
I want to swap a rx8 13b engine inside a 370z but keep the interior and keep all the components that’s already in the car. Idk if I need the engine and transmission but also don’t bout the ECU too bkz idk if the wiring harness would work with the Nissan wires thts Inside the car already. Idk where to start or look for, there’s no videos bout it but if some kan tell wat I need to do or send me a link tht would help a lot. If this made sense some how I would like the help

I think I’m going with a CX racing kit, then just upgrad a few parts from there, and eventually doing custom work once I’m comfortable with the setup.
Actually very smart. Change out the parts as you need them. Just don't push it too hard on the dyno and get a modest tune
