A metal detector is a fun item to take when outside as you already have trailer you can carry it in. Nokta Simplex is a great value beginner model.

Nice area, we stayed overnight in Susanville back in 2017 while on a 5,000 mile motorcycle trip.

My first ever trip to Eagle Lake was also by motorcycle; about 20 years ago. Sadly, the lake level has dropped dramatically the past 2 decades.

F ING AWSOME. i love all your videos. i leaning back towards this bike the XD is not going to offer abattery extender for a while. so i forget tim im sure ask in pasted about your top range at full throttle and on pas 5 out 5. and what is total AHs. thx tim what views my man. you guys have ALOT OF BIKE paths. in city of boston and some surrending cities its good but once you get out of city not so much but my place in maine i can ride atvs snowmobile trails.

Thank you for all your positive support! I really appreciate it!
My farthest range using throttle only was 30 miles and it pretty much used up the dual batteries; I did a video about that ride here: th-cam.com/video/oHLBYwfvNUE/w-d-xo.html
Regarding PAS 5, I honestly never use PAS 5 because it has never felt necessary. But if I had to estimate, I think the Beast would likely get around 35-40 miles on PAS 5 depending on the terrain and conditions.

Great video thanks for sharing it. I see your still running on the Vee speed tires. I've put nearly 1800 miles on my Beast now. I like the trailer your wife is pulling. Is there a way to change the trailer axle to some kind of suspension for a smoother ride on the reailer? We have rail trails near where I live. Some go 20 miles plus one way. There is a new open trail called the Salmon barry trail along the Oregon coast that goes for miles. Maybe one day I'll check it out.

Thank you. There is no way to add suspension to the trailer, but since this video we bought a new flatbed trailer and a pair of 16x3.5" wheels for it. The wheels give much better psi range to soften the ride, plus it has knobby tires for better traction.
And we love Oregon. Elaine's parents lived in Florence before they passed away, and we still go up to visit friends and stay in Dunes City from time to time. 👍🏻

Just out of curiosity how tall are you. I see you have the seat post way up, that’s how mine is as well on my himiway zebra. How comfortable are you on this bike. Thanks.

I'm 6'-1" with a 34" inseam. I'd actually like to be able to raise the seatpost a bit higher, but it's pretty much maxed out. I have a Cane Creek Thudbuster short travel seatpost, and they don't come any longer. I considered longer crank arms, but they're already 175mm. I'm really comfortable on it and have no problems going on long rides, so I'm good with it. We just did 50.5 miles this past Sunday with no problem.
The Ultra Beast 2 is a pretty massive ebike and weighs in at about 92 lbs with both batteries installed. So in reality, any higher on the seatpost would make dismounting a bit challenging.

THANK GOD you gad a helmet on. and werent near top speed.

I always wear my helmet; even just puttering around on my beach cruiser. I've been around bikes my whole life and have seen lives saved wearing them, and devastating injuries not wearing them. I have a friend who is in his late 60s who raced cyclocross his entire life, and a couple years ago he was simply riding his 3-speed cruiser around without a helmet, crashed, and now has some brain damage. It just shows that no matter how much experience one has, it only takes a moment to change things forever.
With that said, I actually didn't take an impact to the helmet. I somehow managed to flip myself using my left leg and was able to do kind of a barrel roll and avoid a face/head impact. I guess some luck, and knowing how to fall was a saving grace. 👍🏻
I was probably going 10-12 mph when the crash happened. Could have been way worse, but every time I watch my crash it cracks me up! 😆
