I just got my body type and colors report from you. It was life changing! Thank you so much! A lot of the stuff and colors I was wearing didn’t match and I always felt something was off. ❤ thank you thank!
OMG I always knew something was off! That front tuck would look great on others but would look awful on me no matter what and I thought I was just afraid of trying new looks when really I just knew these looks didn't work for me.
I was typed by you as a Sharpened Soft (SD). I have an arsenal of some easy no brainer items/hair/makeup that help me to look a bit more put together: large hoops (5mm and above); soft eyeliner (a pencil liner that's super quick to blend - I always choose a colour with shimmer which further softens the line); a "smarter" or more glamourous element in my outfit that is sort of extra to what is expected in a occasion I am dressing for (e.g swapping sneakers for boots, swapping jeans for trousers in a luxurious fabric). I hope that is helpful 😊
As a soft dramatic, I rely on soft fabric that skim my body. I find pants challenging and mostly rely on simple long tank dresses with long cardigans, creative looking gold necklaces and large rounded style earrings to look casual yet put together. This has become my uniform. I will sometimes swap out the long duster cardigan for a colorful and bold kimono style.
I love this! You are right about the uniform. I, as a romantic, also struggle with pants. The only ones I wear are white with elastin, and still- dresses are the best. I started wearing them everywhere and I love it! Just adding this detail or that one depending on the occasion 😅😊
you're so right ! I'm an SD too and I've close to given up on pants .. I recently decided to just find dresses and skirts for every occasion because I feel the best in them
@@CarasGaladhon from Amazon. I usually wear a black base. And a colorful kimono. I wear a colorful slip dress with a beige , navy, grey, or black duster cardigan. Some of the cardigans are different textures to keep things interesting. It’s my no fail uniform for casual or dressy events.
I'm so grateful for your kind and flattering descriptions of us beveled types Kibbe and related schools of thought made me believe i looked good in unconstructed and dressed down styles BECAUSE I'm inherently assymetrical, grotesque and unruly myself This is a much kinder perspective. And it is true ..i tend to look way too dressed up and polished usually haha. I used to think "i can only get away with looking that way if i am a beautiful type, and not as a Natural" Thank you so much 🙏❤
oh not at all! I'm not really even trying to be kind, I'm only saying what I believe to simply be true. If you haven't watched my video called 'are classics the most beautiful type' you should watch that too.
Im a TR, and I tend to go for a soft/tailored look. I have soft curly hair. When doing my hair, I try and keep it soft with round edges. I have to at least do my hair and simple makeup to look some what put together. If I don't, I look like I just rolled out bed. Im 5'3 with a small narrow body. I can easily be overpowered by large or heavy clothing. It can be a struggle at times to find the right fit of clothing. Also, at 37, it seems to be hard to find clothes age appropriate. It's like the fashion industry forgot to make clothes for women between 30 and 40 😄.
All my life I kept trying the baggy flowy clothes of a natural or beveled type. Horrid on me. Soft gamine fitted clothing is what suits me. I’ve stopped wasting time and energy since I’ve learned from you. Someday I want to have you type me because I’m still guessing. Soft gamine/classic with a touch of theatrical romantic. Anyways fitted stuff.
Curly hair naturally does have pieces sticking out everywhere and is tousled though --so this is really confusing for us bc our hair is always going to be tousled not smooth
take a look at how rihanna will do her curls. I heard kibbe said she is TR. but then again she is taller. regardless, even if she is SD, SD also needs pretty neat hair. so if she is TR or SD, either way, her hair very much applies to you as TR. imo she looks beeauuutiful with curls.
What if I am Soft Classic and Bright Winter? It seems so hard to be soft and put togerher and in harmony.Could you do a video about when a body type doesn't fit the colour type?
bright colors look wonderful on soft classic. just stay away from dark colors head to toe. I had a client who was SC and was typed winter and I told her to also incorporate cool pastels regardless. Colors like bright seafoam greens, icy pinks, and other bright cool and light colors were all lovely. bright lavender, cornflower blue. In your case, your body type opens up additional color options.
You mean like Icy Pastels? They are like white with a drop of pastel color. Pastels have more color to them, are chalky like and make me look I’ll while Icy Pastels are life giving.
Hi Merriam. I am warm and delicate but my body type is DC/blended sharpen. My color palette are not dark enough for the body structure. What color should I choose? Thank you very much.❤
Hi Merriam :) I found out from you today that I am Sharpened Soft. The fact is that I come from Germany and it's less common here to wear glamorous outfits. I also live in the countryside and often go for walks, hikes or cycling. For this reason, I would be very happy if you could make a video here or in the club about how to create sharpened soft minimal looks for sports etc. Many thanks in advance
if you're not familiar with her already, True Grit Couture on TH-cam is an SD and a rancher who lives in Australia. Her outfits have to be very practical for outdoor activities so you might want to check her out!
I always thought that I was a dramatic classic because I'm moderately tall and I have pretty balanced/moderate proportions overall. But I do look shorter than I actually am (my torso is really short) and I really do look good in some gamine clothing, what do you think could be my actual kibbe type. Classic outfits sometimes look too bland on me
Hello Merriam 😊 Are you maaaaybe planning to ever make a course/school/ classes for people who would like to learn what you know so they can learn it more and maybe make it their job? I understand if that's not your excitement, but I am interested. 😊
This was so helpful! Thanks! Are you familiar with barefoot dreams and their owner’s presentations on qvc? Well she looks absolutely fabulous in those casual, oversized, cozy/comfy sweaters. Then when I try one on I look like some kind of Sasquatch that belongs in a cave? So I think from your analysis she must be a natural, whereas I’m something …else… still love those sweaters, but I never wear them in public
oh I DO have problems to look put together as a natural, its just different problems. if theres a wedding I always am desperate. there are still good and bad looks for us just as for everyone else and tousled hair is not always looking appropriate. Im flamboyant natural and whenever the dresscode is not casual I struggle so much.
It feels weird to me when 'body/colour typing' consultants don't look put-together themselves. There's a few out here on YT and I wonder what that's about.....
I can’t find clothes for my body dimensions, type and height. I just use whatever fits decently. I am really tired of looking and I don’t have time to spend hours in clothing sites, ordering just to get continuously disappointed. I find that Soft Naturals struggle much more than other natural types.
@@diabolique5325 Hi, so your bonestructure is/seem to be more relevant than your colour palette? You wear black/navy near your face or more at the bottom or monocromatic from head to toe?
@@darjadrake4210 Sorry for my Enligh😊. Yes, I think the color suits my bone structure looks better than the color palette, especially longer piece like trench coat. I look good in black t-shirt which near the face but muted rosy color shirt looks well also. I do like darker color at the bottom, like dark leather dress or very tight black jeans. Merriam, I am 5'1 but not skinny nor overweight. My question is, does being short automatically mean I am one of the gamine body types, or can you be petite and be something else? I am definitely not a gamine tomboy type. I feel best when I am dressed neatly and feminine even in jeans. I usually know what I feel good in or not, even with certain colors. I do not look good in mustard yellow at all or bright red. I am fair, blue eyed always had blonde hair, as I got older dishwater blonde, now I keep it in the blonde family.
