With Wesker dead the series needs an overarching villain, it'd be great if it was Nikolai, he was an umbrella higher up, greedy, willing to sacrafice anyone and will have a grudge against Jill for leaving him to die. With Umbrella's collapse he'll become a renegade on the run. Changing his fate also gives a good reason to bring back Carlos in another game.
In wesker report, it said and its canon that Nicholai died in Raccoon City. Only Jill, Carlos and some survivors from Outbreak made it. That’s the canon story sorry :/
@@exnihilonihilum2318maybe I'm wrong but I couldn't find any notes on Nikolai in the Wesker Report video. He is mentioned as surviving in RE Survivor, which is unfortunately canon. That file he wrote was dated for Oct. 6th, so six days after the bombing.

@@exnihilonihilum2318 Survivor is canon because they mention Sheena Island in the prologue of RE 0, which is also canon. Truly a complicated web! It could be argued that Nikolai died in Raccoon City in the remake, but there was a second helicopter on the rooftop when Jill and Carlos left. He COULD have escaped in that to live to write the Nemesis report from Survivor, but it's all speculation! I personally like to choose to believe he made it!
Just like how the S.T.A.R.S members died in the first game, they all had no idea what they were up against and that there was a traitor among them.

@@tylragor1653 I wouldn't say a traitor, since UBCS's themself were have their bad side according to files on the OG RE3 and RE outbreak. Their main priority were rescuing umbrella empolyees or higher up, securing Umbrella facilities and recovering high-priority assets.
They were also allowed to rescue civilians (although this was not their main priority). They also were the higher-up members called Monitors (Nikolai and Tyrell in the OG were the two surviving Monitor) who had additional orders to destroy sensitive data, recover prototype B.O.W.s, destroy facilities of danger to the company, and record the outcome of fighting between the UBCS and the BOW.

For anyone saying Nikolai got killed by Nemesis in RE3 Nemesis original Game. Keep in mind that the his status is Open-Ended. He might have Escaped via Helicopter/Kill Him in the Helicopter fight or Died at the hands of Nemesis. This will depend on your choice at the Bridge Section before you enter the Factory Area. One thing to note also, if you have Played the Resident Evil: Survivor featuring Ark Thompson, there is a file in the theater states the combat data wtitten by Nikolai about the Creatures he encountered and about the Nemesis Tyrant. I personally believed that Capcom should shed some light for his official status on this
According to resident evil wiki, "What is known is that Zinoviev was made aware of an imminent plan by the US military to blow up Raccoon City and made plans to escape the city with his data. Three accounts claim he made his escape attempt at Incineration Disposal Plant P-12A. In one of them, he was immediately killed by Nemesis-T Type. In the second, he commandeered a helicopter and was killed in battle with Valentine. In the third, he escaped in the helicopter. A fourth account instead claims he tried to steal a helicopter from Valentine and Oliveira at the NEST 2 rooftop but failed and was left behind despite an offer to the reveal the identity of his buyer, though there was a second helicopter on the helipad he could have escaped on. Regardless of these accounts and whether or not he survived, what is known for certain is that Umbrella obtained at least some of his reports from Raccoon City" 2 accounts are from original re3 and the last 2 accounts are from resident evil 3 remake
Also, the epilogue pictures from the original RE3 shows Barry to have come to rescue Jill, which adds to the argument that Nikolai was not killed by Nemesis.
There's also a written file in Umbrella's End (The canon segment of Umbrella Chronicles that takes place at the Umbrella European Headquarters in 2002) that has a written letter between Sergei and Nicholai. If Nicholai was dead Sergei wouldn't be writing a letter to him. That portion IS in fact canon.

Canonically Nicholai survives Raccoon City as he makes a phone call in RE Outbreak after the city is destroyed to the Outpost there monitoring it and authors a report to Sergei Vladimir about Wesker potentially faking his death.
You miss the U.B.C.S squad killed by the "Nyx" at the end in Outbreak File 2. In Operation Raccon City you see few U.B.C.S deaths too.
They were a total of 120 U.B.C.S mercenaries sent by umbrella, but obviously the record of the squads and the names of all platoon squads are not mentioned anywhere so I have only included those which are mentioned in the games and are well known.

I have a lot of criticisms of the RE3 Remake, but I think it did a fantastic job portraying the human characters! And much as I think they missed the mark with Nemesis, it was nice seeing Tyrell finally get some time (and even named!) onscreen.
Also, I think Nicholai’s ambiguous fate in 3R was perfect, and much better than in OG RE3: It really drove home the fact that because he betrayed every single person, he was left with nobody to help him, in the middle of a doomed city.
Exactly! Also I don't know if I'm seeing things but the way he laughs it off or something similar to that and then it sinks in that his fate is sealed, then his smile disappears is just so great

Mikhail's sacrifice scene in Re3 1999 is more impressive and emotional than Re3 remake
It makes no sense though, Nemesis only kills people if they are in his way. After he tosses Nicolai aside he would have left him there to continue his pursuit of Jill. The Remake is better because he is actively in the process of killing him since he is in the way.

They kinda feel samey, of course not exactly but I don't see what one did better than the other? :0 Also in the Remake I liked that line they gave him, made him seem badass and glorious for willing to sacrifice himself with a fierce face too, he seemed to really care and be fine with going down as long as others will be safe
@@wanderingmercurymarauder761 Nemesis isn't a robot. When attacked, he acts in order to terminate that threat. Mikhail attacked Nemesis and the grumpy dude was 100% motivated to kill him.
I agree, the OG resident evil three made Mikhail a much more meaningful character. I always wondered at what point in the game nemesis took damage to his power limiter. Being hit with a grenade at this point in the game finally answered the question for me. At this point the transformations start.

That Biohazard 4D movie is the best RE product outside of gaming. Such a shame Hollywood is not capable to make such a creepy and neat story as that movie

I can’t understand why Capcom cut so many parts of the Resident Evil 3 remake from the original Resident Evil game. Such a shame.
Also I noticed that Capcom when they included female characters like Claire, Jill, Ada, etc, they make their game campaigns small and they don’t put the correct character development like they did with Leon and Chris.

Their plan was to only make Resistance, AKA a multiplayer game absolutely nobody asked for. People shat on them so they had to rush out a sequel to compensate. The scummy thing is, like MW3, this is a glorified DLC sold at full price at best and a shameless cash grab at worst.
Original RE3 was my childhood. I almost learned the map by heart. This garbage of a "remake" convinced me to never give capcom another dime.
Because it wasn't totally made by capcom but by a 3rd party studio too called M-Two, the game didn't had the same attention as the RE2R had and obviously the RE3R wasn't supervised by anyone from RE2R original team or the most important part of them. It's funny to see the RE1R got a much better treatment and kept the original lore while RE2 and 3 remakes tryed to change everything and make more linear, RE2R worked but could be better and RE3 failed horribly ruining the canon and the conclusion of the original trio.

Resident Evil Gun survivor is another bad RE like RE3R is and I like it very much, specially because I had the gun controller to play with and most people played with controller and it is awful, made what is bad, worse. Bud I like it very much and just because I like it very much won't make the game be not bad, same to RE3R. If RE3R wasn't that bad the sales would be the same as RE2R and RE4R would have received the same treatement as RE3R did but capcom took very careful steps on RE4 to not make the same mistake she did with RE3 and ruined the original trio canon.

Nikolai is dead either way. That shot Jill gave would not be a good shoulder to fly another helicopter on.
And let's be honest, his death was ironic. He betrayed everyone who trust him. He betrayed Umbrella. He betrayed Mikhail, Carlos, and the rest of the U.B.C.S. as a whole. He betrayed Jill Valentine, who would ironically be the last person that would have pulled Nikolai out of Raccoon City. Though, she decided that a person like Nikolai is not worth saving. And last of all, he betrayed himself by his own greed. After he betrayed everyone, they all turned on him and betrayed him in return. Mikhail's sacrifice left Nikolai alone. The rest of the U.B.C.S. in Raccoon City was dead, except for Sergei and Carlos. Sergei left Raccoon City in his own chopper without Nikolai. Leaving Carlos and Jill to be his very last hope in making it out alive. And guess what? They left him to die on that building before the bomb would come right afterwards, because he betrayed them too many times.
Man I still like to break out my old PlayStation and play the originals. Takes me back to the 90s. Good times.

Mikhail Victor actually was fighting Nemesis and he sacrificed himself by blowing him and Nemesis up in the process but Nemesis survived.
The thing that hurts me the most from the RE3 Remake is the fact that Capcom took off The Mercenaries minigame from the only minigame from the franchise where actually makes sense the name of the minigame. I mean, they really wanted to cash in over RE3 name and RE2 Remake success without a drop of shame. When they announced RE3 I was not only hoping Mad Jackal's minigame, but even a solo campaign for Carlos
the solo campaign for Carlos would be Badass, imagine helping the SWAT team and police officers try hold-off the horde of zombies just like in the Opening movie on the OG RE3

Being honest I think that he did escape. There is a second chopper on that roof if you look close enough.
@@Salemchevy I don't think he did because no second chopper was seen in the air while Jill and Carlos were in the air and Nicholai already stated that he needed help to be evacuated. I think the only way he could survive would be to go back down inside the NEST 2 and somehow avoid the Nuclear Firestorm. I wish there was an ending where you shoot him in the head, and he dies because that makes more sense.
He can join the list of other characters that will never return for some some reason, like Billy, Manuela, Jake, Outbreak crew, etc...

Yes there are many unknown UBCS member deaths like in RE3 opening and outbreak file endings, but those squad members were unknown
There were a total of 120 UBCS mercenaries in total But the data (name and squad) are unknown of those UBCS mercenaries so I only included which are well known in the games.

To be honest I’m just wondering where the hell carlos has been for the past… god knows how many games.
I can’t help but feel like his survival skills and knowledge of how umbrella operates would have greatly helped Chris and the BSA take down Umbrella
If i had to guess. One of many things happened:
*He decided to not continue the fight, in one of the paths in the original you could see him giving up all hope of escape until jill slapped sense into him. He still fought, but he was scared. Carlos's goal was never to stop umbrella, it was to survive
*He became insignficant
*He was returned to jail (Alot of them UBCS were prisoners sprung from jail)
*He was offed by umbrella for turning against them before their inevitable shutdown. They literally would have had all of his information.

Umbrella sent 120 UBCS mercenaries in raccoon city, we have seen only numbered of mercenaries on games/movies so there are speculations of many unknown platoon including this lady and her unknown status.

The only one who acted the part to a T was Nicholai. Theres usually 12 men or women in a platoon so there woulda been about 12 teams of UBCS.
The supervisors are the team leaders, the seargants if you will cuz it looks like they followed the same rankings as the military uses.
