His motives are odd but he has lost control of the city & wants to ensure that nobody escapes under his watch. Having him point the gun at Claire until he realises she is human & after his speak sending her off to leave him be with the dead mayors daughter. Then you meet Sheri before she runs off & a good while later you find his murder dungeon & he depending on if it is A or B will either be killed by Birkin quite brutally but quickly or have A G-embryo put in him. The original doesn't feel like Claire has plot armour just she got lucky that chief Irons in B goes to the trap door first meaning William grabs him & kills him giving you the window you need to fight him & in A that William had already reached him to violate him leading to you fighting a G-embryo which is a pretty poor boss fight. RE2 classic differs heavily from the remake with the original having what I think are more human characters for the most part & a more interconnected story with less plot holes. Like Leon in original game B play though saves Sheri giving her the vaccine & all as the original game basically had the idea to survive the apocalypse you need to work together the remake has damn you can do it on your own. Their is a brilliant Critic of the game basically called why RE2 Remake isn't so great or something like that. I came in prepared to argue in the comments but the complaints weren't focused at the good parts of the game just at how it butchered the story & characters whilst cutting a lot of the stuff from the game so they improved the originals flaws like MrX not feeling like he is actually chasing you & making the zombies so much more deadly but it failed to keep the good basically ruining them.
The deaths where they look away from the zombies while having a gun and they could have gained serious distance to take them out is pretty dumb though especially cops.

I wanna point out the 73 Bird was actually killed from a Licker that attacked the helicopter cause if you look closer you can see huge scratch marks that resembled the same claws from the Licker
Possibly scratched the helicopter and the pilot panicked or was killed or possibly somehow alive in the explosion killed him? Ok the latter is a slim chance seeing how fast he was going

lets not forget the many officcers that we find zombified or dead all around the Resident Evil games, RE 2, RE 3, RE 2 remake, RE 3 remake, for im sure they all had their own tragic endings one way or another and its easy to imagine that theres a possibility some of them were still alive when the nuke was dropped, in the end nobody but the main characters of this stories survived the Racoon City chaos

Capcom would not be ready to make something like that, people would probably lose their shit and the similarities to Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Japanese would find reason to be offended. Now Capcom USA? If they wanted to.... And I'm sure most don't wanna be the characters that die, although in outbreak some characters have an ending where they die or implied to be stuck behind when the nukes hit...
Reading notes and descriptions is still one of the things I love the most about RE. I liked to think about how the zombies and corpses ended up the way they were. What struggles did they go through, what were their final moments like?
Of the entire RPD, only a potential 8 survived (6 confirmed, 2 merely with a high chance they did). This is 3 people LESS than Black Mesa, who had 10 confirmed survivors (11 if you include Shepard, who was military, not Mesa).

I know I'm probably going off topic, but this video reminded me that Leon never shared a uniform with either of these officers. It was never offically explained why he wore an RPD SWAT uniform on his first day on the job. I was kinda lowkey hoping RE2 remake would fix that, or at least explain it (one of the million reasons, he was never provided a key to his locker, so he took an open locker, finding a veteran RPD SWAT officer's uniform). His oufit is so iconic, hence I figure I NEVER see anyone question this other than me.

Great video, though David Ford killed himself. He wasn't killed by zombies. You learn about this in the note found in the R.P.D's Dark Room in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. Edit: Now that I've watched the last part of the video, I see you've covered that note. That's how David died.
Marvin was bit by a member of STARS and succumbed to the t virus infection. He wasn't killed by some random zombie. You can see that happen in re3make Edit: the helicopter pilot that crashes into the RPD didn't just crash, in the original re2 you see some other officer flagging him to drop a ladder but when he gets grabbed by zombies he shoots his gun wildly and shoots the pilot, causing him to crash.

The one at the start of re3make just spontaneously explodes cause nemesis doesn't get his rocket launcher until later. And in re2make the helicopter just slams into the rpd with no real explanation. The only chopper I remember nemesis being responsible for was the one he shoots down at the clock tower in the original re3.

Raymond was the Deputy Chief of Police. So he was technically the second in command after Brian Irons and was tasked with leading the defenses out on the streets. He’s meant to basically be the opposite of Irons.
I remember ending on RE Outbreak File 2 Desperate Times ending about police cruiser passed by after Kevin and other surviving police officers and survivors in RPD in SWAT van were indeed Leon, Kevin's new coworker in RPD that he never met before shit happens in Raccoon City zombie outbreak.
I loved playing resident evil but I hated Mr X always constantly stalking and following me. And those got damn zombie dogs how I hated running into them. But still a good well designed game.
Bonus (non-canon) Death: Leon, Resident Evil Gaiden. How? Exploding, sinking boat. Replaced by BOW that can mimic. In the entire series, the only known survivors of the RPD are Chris, Jill, Barry, Rebecca, Kevin, and Leon. Rita and Harry do have a high chance of being alive, given they're the only cops beyond Kevin who is seen with the survivors in a scenario ending (much like the firefighters in Hellfire who appear a second time in the ending to Decisions Decisions and, thus, escape). Survivors commonly end the scenario alone, so NPCs with them implies they might've escaped together. (While Harry does appear in "Outbreak" with a potential injury and can be abandoned by running back to the van, that scenario is during the actual surge of undead, while "Desperate Times" is set after RE3's failed police barricade wiped out most of the RPD, so he canonically doesn't die in that scenario). Every other cop either dies to the undead, died via suicide (Jean can be found in Underbelly in File 2), was infected by the water supply, or was part of the failed "Operation Pushback" which attempted to take back the city streets (which means, if they did survive, the destruction of the city ensured their death regardless). There is, technically, one other survivor, but he's from the Java games "Confidential Cases" and, thus, most likely not canon.
Bonus (non-canon) Death: Leon (alongside Claire Redfield), Resident Evil Operation Racoon City COD: killed in a gun battle with Wolf Squadron during the operation to retrieve the G-virus sample and data held by Sherry Birkin. Claire is executed by Wolf Squad following the battle.

There are 2 more like Jean where you can find his body and note in Underbelly (it has a code that you can use to unlock his drawer in Desperate Times) and also Tony's body can be found in the kennel (if you play as Kevin he will still be alive for a bit)
Great video, Biohazard has always been my favorite game series and re2 was always my favorite in the series and the first one I played (well technically I made my mom beat both characters and both scenarios while I watched her because I was like 7-8 and to scared to play myself) and I think they did a great job with the remake unlike re3 the only things I was upset about was them completely removing the chief irons boss fight, turning the crocodile boss into a 30 second chase scene, and sometimes I wish mr.x didn't appear until B scenario like in the original but it's really amazing and makes me happy to see all these memories of my childhood being remade into games that fit our time and I wish my mom got to see the remakes for herself
I have never heard of someone's mum helping them with video games before. Probably just something that is less common for the people with the stories but like the next few generations will likely have more equal proportions. Just interesting as I am used to mums like mine who don't really understand or care to understand video games.
@@cillianennis9921 ya I know what you mean it was around 2002-2003 so alot of adults at the time didn't play or were used to video games but my whole childhood I was lucky and grew up with consoles I had the original Nintendo, Nintendo 64, ps1, Gameboy and Gameboy color, a sega handheld, and a few others and my mom had played a few of them herself with me and my brother so she was kind of used to it but it was great and resident evil has always been my top favorite game series since I was a kid but I was to terrified to play it myself being so young so she played it for me so I could see the whole game but close my eyes at anything that scared me if I needed too lol and your right about these next generations theirs definitely gonna be a lot more kids who's mom/dad play videogames with them
@@Jstrife9 thats kinda like my cousin & his dad who basically gives him so many games & plays them with him though jail breaking older consoles & when I was younger it was always so much fun to go to his Dad's house where you had basically every video game on the Wii-u & a N64, PS2 & a Laptop with all sorts on it. All the pirated movies you could ever watch. I grew up in the 2010s so we where mainly playing on what then was older consoles but I don't really care about the age of things as well the new stuff at the minute is all quite bad & the old is where most greats are lying hopefully with current trends we'll be seeing series like Resident Evil continue to be scary unlike the first games I finished 6 & Revelations 2 which is scary but not as scary as the older titles.
Raymond only died to zombies and not scissortails.. Capcom really just loves messing with canonicity of events...like when the female cop zombie during the final part of desperate times(siege cutscene) looked like Rita only for her to appear later and save you.

In Resident evil 2 of PSX if you don't k zombie Marvin in the first scenario he will be on the second scenario,same thing to Brad if you make him spawn on the first scenario and don't kill him you can kill him on the second scenario and get the key for the costume locker.
In order to survive Raccoon City, you need to look like a distinguishable badass and/or have wild/long hair like a boy band member and not look generic and plain. If you look generic and plain, chances are you will die.
Outbreak is such an underrated, hidden gem. It gave us so much more information & characters than any other RE game. It tells us so much more with what happened during the Raccoon City Destruction Incident.

In the right hands, you could do an intense movie about the Fall of RPD. Start off with the worst being the zombies and figuring out how the infection works. Slowly introduce lickers when they seem like they might have an ok handle on things. Throw in irons initially as a clear ally and then just have him murk people slowly one by one, end with maybe Marvin and someone else barely gettjng away and some text about how hours later leon and claire would arrive So much potential for interesting "in-universe" exercises in other media and its a shame it gets wasted on utter horseshit like the recent netflix series and that other godawful movie

Kevin as well, he survived escaping with Rita and a few other officers while Marvin stayed behind. There's also Chris, Jill, Rebecca and Wesker as well, they're the only ones of STARS that survived (even though Wesker kinda started everything in the mansion)
Also One Thing I Hated About The RE2 Remake Was The Lack Of Headshot Damage. Like How Can You Fuck Up So Badly On One Of The Main If Not Strongest Way To Successfully Kill A Zombie. Marvin was bit by a member of STARS and succumbed to the t virus infection. He wasn't killed by some random zombie. You can see that happen in re3make
Edit: the helicopter pilot that crashes into the RPD didn't just crash, in the original re2 you see some other officer flagging him to drop a ladder but when he gets grabbed by zombies he shoots his gun wildly and shoots the pilot, causing him to crash.
Depends on the game. Marvin was bitten by a random zombie in the outbreak games. But by Brad in Re3.

The one at the start of re3make just spontaneously explodes cause nemesis doesn't get his rocket launcher until later. And in re2make the helicopter just slams into the rpd with no real explanation. The only chopper I remember nemesis being responsible for was the one he shoots down at the clock tower in the original re3.

I remember ending on RE Outbreak File 2 Desperate Times ending about police cruiser passed by after Kevin and other surviving police officers and survivors in RPD in SWAT van were indeed Leon, Kevin's new coworker in RPD that he never met before shit happens in Raccoon City zombie outbreak.
I loved playing resident evil but I hated Mr X always constantly stalking and following me. And those got damn zombie dogs how I hated running into them. But still a good well designed game.
Bonus (non-canon) Death: Leon, Resident Evil Gaiden. How? Exploding, sinking boat. Replaced by BOW that can mimic.
In the entire series, the only known survivors of the RPD are Chris, Jill, Barry, Rebecca, Kevin, and Leon. Rita and Harry do have a high chance of being alive, given they're the only cops beyond Kevin who is seen with the survivors in a scenario ending (much like the firefighters in Hellfire who appear a second time in the ending to Decisions Decisions and, thus, escape). Survivors commonly end the scenario alone, so NPCs with them implies they might've escaped together. (While Harry does appear in "Outbreak" with a potential injury and can be abandoned by running back to the van, that scenario is during the actual surge of undead, while "Desperate Times" is set after RE3's failed police barricade wiped out most of the RPD, so he canonically doesn't die in that scenario).
Every other cop either dies to the undead, died via suicide (Jean can be found in Underbelly in File 2), was infected by the water supply, or was part of the failed "Operation Pushback" which attempted to take back the city streets (which means, if they did survive, the destruction of the city ensured their death regardless).
There is, technically, one other survivor, but he's from the Java games "Confidential Cases" and, thus, most likely not canon.

There are 2 more like Jean where you can find his body and note in Underbelly (it has a code that you can use to unlock his drawer in Desperate Times) and also Tony's body can be found in the kennel (if you play as Kevin he will still be alive for a bit)

Great video, Biohazard has always been my favorite game series and re2 was always my favorite in the series and the first one I played (well technically I made my mom beat both characters and both scenarios while I watched her because I was like 7-8 and to scared to play myself) and I think they did a great job with the remake unlike re3 the only things I was upset about was them completely removing the chief irons boss fight, turning the crocodile boss into a 30 second chase scene, and sometimes I wish mr.x didn't appear until B scenario like in the original but it's really amazing and makes me happy to see all these memories of my childhood being remade into games that fit our time and I wish my mom got to see the remakes for herself
I have never heard of someone's mum helping them with video games before. Probably just something that is less common for the people with the stories but like the next few generations will likely have more equal proportions. Just interesting as I am used to mums like mine who don't really understand or care to understand video games.
@@cillianennis9921 ya I know what you mean it was around 2002-2003 so alot of adults at the time didn't play or were used to video games but my whole childhood I was lucky and grew up with consoles I had the original Nintendo, Nintendo 64, ps1, Gameboy and Gameboy color, a sega handheld, and a few others and my mom had played a few of them herself with me and my brother so she was kind of used to it but it was great and resident evil has always been my top favorite game series since I was a kid but I was to terrified to play it myself being so young so she played it for me so I could see the whole game but close my eyes at anything that scared me if I needed too lol and your right about these next generations theirs definitely gonna be a lot more kids who's mom/dad play videogames with them

All the pirated movies you could ever watch. I grew up in the 2010s so we where mainly playing on what then was older consoles but I don't really care about the age of things as well the new stuff at the minute is all quite bad & the old is where most greats are lying hopefully with current trends we'll be seeing series like Resident Evil continue to be scary unlike the first games I finished 6 & Revelations 2 which is scary but not as scary as the older titles.
Raymond only died to zombies and not scissortails.. Capcom really just loves messing with canonicity of events...like when the female cop zombie during the final part of desperate times(siege cutscene) looked like Rita only for her to appear later and save you.

In Resident evil 2 of PSX if you don't k zombie Marvin in the first scenario he will be on the second scenario,same thing to Brad if you make him spawn on the first scenario and don't kill him you can kill him on the second scenario and get the key for the costume locker.

In order to survive Raccoon City, you need to look like a distinguishable badass and/or have wild/long hair like a boy band member and not look generic and plain. If you look generic and plain, chances are you will die.

Outbreak is such an underrated, hidden gem. It gave us so much more information & characters than any other RE game. It tells us so much more with what happened during the Raccoon City Destruction Incident.
Raymond Douglas was also the deputy chief, Irons purposely sent him out onto street detail, cant have anyone get in the way.
I can't believe how much more cinematic the original RE 2 and 3 are compared to the remakes in terms of cutscenes. Example, how Marvin dies.

In the right hands, you could do an intense movie about the Fall of RPD. Start off with the worst being the zombies and figuring out how the infection works. Slowly introduce lickers when they seem like they might have an ok handle on things. Throw in irons initially as a clear ally and then just have him murk people slowly one by one, end with maybe Marvin and someone else barely gettjng away and some text about how hours later leon and claire would arrive
So much potential for interesting "in-universe" exercises in other media and its a shame it gets wasted on utter horseshit like the recent netflix series and that other godawful movie

Kevin as well, he survived escaping with Rita and a few other officers while Marvin stayed behind. There's also Chris, Jill, Rebecca and Wesker as well, they're the only ones of STARS that survived (even though Wesker kinda started everything in the mansion)

In fact, most of the RPD officers died, whether they were men or women. Only a few of them survive and not much is known. Who is known like Kevin, Rita, Harry, Tyler, Leon, Chris, Jill, etc
There were a few RPD officers who were women, including Jill Valentine, Rebecca Chambers and Rita Philips. But as far as we know, all three are the only female survivors.
