Building & Testing a V10 Engine With LARGEST Bore and SHORTEST Stroke! (Automation | BeamNG)

  • Today I will be attempting to build an engine that has the largest bore and shortest stroke combination possible in Automation to see what kind of engine we end up with! I decided this needed to be a high revving V10 and boy was I surprised by the results of this absolutely ridiculous stroke to bore ratio. I ended up putting the engine into the ONLY car it would fit in and turning it into a track monster to rip around in BeamNG! Check out the video, let me know in the comments below what you thought, and I hope you enjoyed watching this as much as I enjoyed building the engine and !
    Thanks for watching the video! If you enjoyed it, make sure to like it, share it with your friends and give me your feedback in the comments below!

    To rev high you need max flow everything and the lightest possible moving components, cast light and billet is where it's at👍 a big turbo can also help but then you need heavier internals again.. cast block and heads are good actually, not for weight but strength. The torque dropoff is that the cams are too Conservative.

      high end numbers are actually due to valve float. the valves arent CLOSING enough to actually make compression, hence all the power falling off. you actually need to LOWER the size of the lobes on the cam and increase duration. that way they are open longer, but just not as wide. a smaller cam lobe at super high rpm causes less float because it's not trying to slingshot the valves with a baseball bat. ive been building engines since the 90s, some at low RPM, torque monsters, and some that push over 9k. very very different geometry to keep valves happy. a cam'd drag car with 1000hp at 5000rpm has almost the opposite cam profile as 1000hp at 10,000 rpm.

    So cool to see you all having fun with this! If you soften the valve springs and and raise the cam profile it will move the torque curve further up the rev range and get you a lot more power and torque, you may have to lower the max RPM a little but you'll get way more performance out of the engine! Keep up the good work Cosmo, love to see you having fun with it!

    Variable Valve Lift would be better known by one of its trademarked names "VTEC". Two separate cam profiles for the intake valves (not sure if they have VTECd the exhaust side on newer engines), driven by a oil pressure lockup actuated by a solenoid. Rev speed will be driven mostly by rotating mass, which includes flywheel weight, piston weight, and connecting rod weight. I get kind of a "Lancia had a baby with a Citroen rally car" vibe. It accelerates so slow for being so loud: literally my IRL car lmao. Yeah, those gears are waaaayyy too close together. I would start by lowering the ratios a bunch, and once the shifts are in the right spots, fiddle with the final drive ratio. You could do the maths to figure out the correct ratios, but where's the fun in that?

      @@darealkosmo If you do it right, you should be able to get those ratios figured in two iterations (gearing is either maths or iterative). I always start with the "I've gone too far" step, then bring it back 30%, but you could try a "cut it in half, then half, then half" approach also.

I used my data from My RSX Type S's non stock K20A2 engine and the TODA short stroke kit morphed in to a V10, I settled on 89x77mm 4790cc, Dual 69.8 mm exausts 11.5k RPM 15:0:1, cam 92, VVTL 100, ignition was 76, 6mt with top speed of 425 kph 0-60 2.2. AWD 22/78, AFR 11.9, ill leave the rest to you but I did fine tune the crap out of it and fit it in to a lotus Exige chassis made by Aruna. I have all the stats but I figure I gave enough for you to put the rest together, or at least people reading who know what they are doing. Most the other stats are optomised for breathing and 15 quality ofc. I am just about to rebuild this in the new version as I have not played in over a year.

So far I am at like 950 HP and 650tq, this is far too high, I need to stretch it out I am far too light for this wheelspid, I am running sports not slicks.

    From 1957 to 1965 Chevrolet made a mechanical fuel injection for 1957 Chevy cars and Corvettes until 1965. You can find cutaway images online to see the complexity. All said though, the engines made more than 1 Hp/Cu in. and were capable of high fuel economy and, surprisingly, often met mid to late 1970s emissions with only a PCV valve. FYI, I'm a retired old school mechanic.

    Trust me, auto mechanics is fantastic to get into, being self taught in my opinion is one of the best things to do, you learn at your pace. My brother taught me the basics then i learned anything else from the internet and my own truck i bought. I know about the springs and lifters some, variably valve timing is crappy, if you can mess around with your own tune you can definitely make more power and have it run smother. If your springs are stiff they will be harder to move obviously and return to they position faster and with more force, not a great thing but you don't want weak springs.

I was going for a beefy truck and Automation and BeamNG seems to think I was joking. A stupidly mahoosive 7964.11cc V10 overhead cam 3 valve turbo charged with a 9.18 cm bore and 12cm stroke length. It's limited to 6300 rpm, but it some how is throwing down 736.7 horses at 5400 rpm and a whopping 927.5 lb-ft (1257.5 nm) of twerk- sorry, torque at 3200 rpm. I tried it out at Johnson Valley thinking I got like a super duty or a gnarly Raptor. . . . The thing don't work out on Johnson Valley. It easily gets up to +100 mph in 2nd and I've had it zipping across the salt flat at +200 mph. It, in theory, should be decent on dunes. The problem is it yeets itself off even the smallest berm. You should always merge your exhaust with a V configuration. And I mean always. The closer to the engine you position your merge, the more torque you'll make. The further away, the more HP you'll make. Its been proven time and time again to be the best configuration. Port matched headers into a merge, out dual. Another thing, connecting rod destabilization has to do with harmonics and the balance of the rotating assembly. Ive never played this game. I'm speaking reality here. However in a simulation format, the laws of physics should be the same as they are in real life. I have no idea if you're able to balance the rotating assembly or not. Ive seen you mess with the harmonic balancer settings which might be the move if you're running into high connecting rod stress levels. I'm actually an ex Marine but since 2016 I've been an Audi mechanic. They sent me to Germany for 7 months to learn the R8 inside and out. I'm proud to say I'm one of 5 men in Nevada who is certified to work on the R8. I'm the only certified guy in my area (Reno, Nevada). So believe me when I say I know my shit. big bore, big valves, big overlap, big exhaust, big throttle body. This has been the Honda recipe since the early 90s. Your problem is a lack of exhaust momentum at higher rpm, the rods experience stress because they aren't moving a piston freely, they basically ram the piston in the exhaust stroke like a second compression stroke which completely sets off the engine balance. Especially for a v10.

I have refined armor and helmet as well as the Giga Shield and a protection amulet that adds about 10% to my HP... which is almost 2800. I try not to enhance a Pal until I have an Alpha version. You can redo dungeons after a few days and you can back out of the boss chamber a few chambers to spawn a different boss if you do not like the one it spawned. I have a lot of Alphas... like 30+. I am running out of space in my Pal Box. I have a lot of Kings and Queens too. I just hit level 39, but I was focusing on base building most of today. I was tired of the Pals putting stuff in different chests so I built a refined metal chest and made sure it was the closest and put all the crafting materials and seeds and Pal bits. The other chest has everything else. I have over 130,000 gold. Yes with a flier you can get the effigies (especially when it gets dark) and eggs.

Single point efi means there is 1 small opening on the point of the injector nozzle and efi is electronic feul injection. Multi point operates similat to single point except it has multiple holes on the tip ie more fuel and beter spray pattern and atomization. Lastly direct injection is just fuel is directly injected into the combustion chamber. Whereas single point and multi point in automation is port injection. Hope this helps.

    Single point EFI is, at it's most simple, a carburetor with a fuel injector instead of a carb jet. A lot of hotrodders experimenting with EFI use systems that resemble carburetors, bolt up to the same place on the intake manifold a carb would, but spray fuel instead of fuel sucking through a jet from a pressure drop in a venturi.
    MPFI places individual injectors right before the intake valve. These are either mechanical (a special pump driven by the serpentine belt that sends fuel at high pressure to the right place at the right time) or electrical (the injector receives an electrical signal to open a valve inside of it.)
    Direct injection is modern mechanical fuel injection that places the injector inside the cylinder head, after the valving. This uses a mechanical pump driven by a lobe of the camshaft to shoot fuel directly into the cylinder under very high pressure.

    for higher revs you probably need higher quality on your top end parts. and a much higher camprofile so you get som top end torque. your gearing should be more narrow between gears and final drive should set top speed. ;)

    short stroke leads to not enough time for the engine to intake air before the valve closes. Less power. Long stroke small bore means valves duration can increase leading to more air intake.

    All you need to know is this equation to produce the best displacement for your stroke. .7854xdia2/PSI or Kpa. You need to know the max pressure for each cylinder at .7854 of the ignition stroke .7854 is a quarter of PI. If you know the average pressure of all the cylinders you can set the fuel ratios correctly in any computer to make max horse power per RPM and pressure, .7854xdia2/Kpa, Get it?

    Also the higher it revs the longer your gears need to be so spacing has to be high

    A lot of the rpm band is being wasted, probably airflow.
    The truck isnt exactly slow, 0-60 is about 5 seconds. The gearing also seems odd, but it could be because of the power drop off in high rpm...basically, it sounds like it wants to shift much sooner

  • @Checkitfirst
    @Checkitfirst 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Where can I get this

  • @collinsavunen5306
    @collinsavunen5306 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    One reason you are slow is your power band is in the middle of your rpm range but your gear ratio is designed for the top end of the rpm range. My understanding is shift just after peak HP and land at or just below your peak torque. Would love to be educated further on this topic.

  • @FredBuildandFix
    @FredBuildandFix 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You need more cam and intake that's what affects the more the rpm power potential but you gonna lose lower for sure. That where vvl save the game with a low cam profile for torque down and big cam lob for rpm horsepower. If variable intake runnerwas a thing in thia game , power band can be tuned lot more.
