- Install and review of the Super ATV EPS kit for the Honda Talon. The kit solved the issues with the power steering dropping out and generally heavy steering.

Can’t justify all the work with no room to install this upgrade. I have had no problem with my stock set up . Enjoy watching the struggle and thanks for the vid

Thanks, Terry, Just got mine installed this weekend along with an upgraded Hess rack. Going to do the wiring trick tomorrow so I can hit the trail by next weekend.

I need to install this on my live valve too. Does the Live Valve still communicate and work properly with the steering light grounded? Have you noticed any difference in the suspension after this mod?

I have a 2020x on 6” portals and 37s my stock power steering is still smooth, maybe cause I’m only on an 8.5 wide tire, definitely will still probably put this in with the RB3 steering rack
Seems like there is no real pattern to the PS trouble. Mine has had issues right from the start but I also hear stories like yours where there's never been trouble. I have the RB3 rack and highly recommend it as well.
After seeing the quality of the SuperATV arms on my friend's CanAm, there's no way I'd trust them with my steering.
That looks awesome! Don’t have the budget it for it at the moment, but do you have any information on the power steering mod you did before?
@Terry Hatfield There are two plugs into the original EPS motor that are unplugged before it's removal. What happens with them on the new install? I see no place for them but it seems strange for them to just be abandoned. I have watched nearly all of your videos about the Talon and have followed your lead on a bunch. Thanks!

Terry did you have a blank plug on your steering ecu? Port “C” on my steering ecu does not have a plug in it.

Terry where is the eps wire located on the four seater? You convinced me so two of us ordered the ez steer. Turns out none are available due to the demand. Waiting for China to build them! Super atv doesn’t know when they will be available. I called Super atv and they are trying to get a date when we can expect the units to come in.
Bummer on them being out of stock. No experience with the 4 seat but I believe the control modules are under the rear seat on them. Let me see what I can find out about the wiring colors and I'll get back with you. I believe it should be the same yellow/green but not 100% sure. Update: The colors in the harness between years and models are the same.

Found the eps wire and control module under left rear seat, then under a rubber dust cover. The dust cover was hiding it from view.

Do any of you guys have issues when Turning all the way to either side as far as knocking or excess play after install?
If this kit is used on a Live Valve what are the drawbacks? I see in the comments that there are two unused plugs on the factory harness from the eps motor. I assume one is a power plug and the other is maybe a steering angle sensor or something? I'm concerned this kit could cause issues with my Live Valve.
Sorry but I have zero experience with the live valves. I know there's been a considerable amount of talk on the Facebook groups about doing it but not sure if anyone actually has.
I just got a reply from Jamie at RaceCo which clears up my Live Valve specific questions. This info is probably limited to pre 2023 models. He says that his EPS kit will not interfere with the operation of Live Valve suspension as long as you leave the sensor on the rack and pinion, which i plan to do. Another vendor recommended RaceCo saying that the EPS is actually the same as SATVs but the shafts and U Joints are much higher quality and last longer.@terryhatfieldmin
@@stevelash5821 Jamie is a great guy and really knows these machines forward and backward. His kit definitely has higher quality shafts. The Super ATV stuff is comparable quality with the OE stuff. If I were racing I would certainly go with the Raceco. The Super ATV kit has been bulletproof for us.
Will an Inferno heater core installed in the center of the firewall interfere with the installation of the EPS motor or controller?
I don't have any experience with the Inferno but I don't think it would.
