I rode Firebird when it debuted as Iron Wolf at Six Flags Great America. It was a really fun ride, but I think my favorite part was getting stopped on the lift hill for about five minutes. We were maybe ten feet from the top in the front car. I was a kid so it was all very exciting to me and I loved getting to look around at the park from up there so I actually have really fond memories of it. I'm curious what I would think of the ride now.
Worst active coaster for me has gotta be coast rider. Those shin guards and trimmed turns make the ride so unbearable. It also has a little rattle to it which is surprising
It’s really not as bad as people say but most of my hype is just for the first half and the corkscrews. I still do not understand that figure eight element…….
I went to Six Flags America for the first time earlier this month and I was actually surprised at how much I liked Roar. I’ve only heard negative things about it, and yet I absolutely loved it. It definitely was not the smoothest coaster out there, but I have a very high roughness tolerance so I didn’t mind it, and I actually really enjoyed the layout, it had a solid amount of airtime and laterals, and just generally felt like a wild experience (the roughness might’ve helped with that feeling lol). I do normally love GCIs, and this one was no different (but if the park could put some millennium flyers on it that’d be great)
I actually went there myself start of June for the first time. It wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be. It was FAR better than Firebird. I HATED Firebird and that was really the only coaster I actually thought was bad at the park (the SLC wasn't open when I went still)
I didn't like Roar as much as you, but I didn't think it was bad. It's a bit rough, but honestly, Voyage & Shivering Timbers are far rougher. Roar gave me no airtime in front, but it was quite smooth. The back was rougher, but it did have some decent airtime to redeem it. I do put Boss on my least favorite coasters list, due to the extreme roughness and no airtime, but Roar doesn't deserve the hate it gets. Firebird deserves all the hate it gets and more.
I remember being at LA and watching you ride Swiss Toboggan and get off holding your neck and thinking “well he’s several inches taller than me, so I’ll be good”… yeah no, I think we both dealt with neck pain for the next two days. That thing is awful.
Video idea: redo your top 30 parks. You last did it 2 years ago, and by now there are new coasters in parks, like pipeline at sea world Orlando, wildcats revenge at Hershey, snoopys soapbox racers at kings island, and much more
I’m recently noticing how much enthusiasts complain about good coasters for minor reasons. A little rattle doesn’t ruin a ride. boo hoo you hit your head a few times. I enjoy almost every coaster on this list, can’t redeem Time Warp though.
I agree, a little rattle isn't a dealbreaker for me, but there are some rides where it's a bit too much. If I get off the ride with a huge headache, there's something wrong there. And yeah coaster enthusiasts are way more critical of roller coasters than your average person. Ride has a ton of speed but not much airtime? Instant 6/10
Vortex at Carowinds is good. It’s a little uncomfortable but I think it’s pretty good. You might not like it, but I can tell you it’s better than hurler.
I actually like a lot of these coasters, but Firebird & Coast Rider are on my bottom 10 list. CGAs Grizzly is not quite that low, just because I can handle boring as long as it's not painful, although the 10-15 minute dispatches with 2-train ops are painful. With Swiss Toboggan, it should be qualified that only tall people will dislike it. Around 5'6" and under, we don't hit our head on the ceiling. I enjoyed my 5 rides, but I did realize that even one inch taller, and I would hate it.
You missed the opportunity on this one. For this video you should have gone in descending order with #1 being the worst PRT of your worst coasters. As always, an entertaining video!
I might be crazy, but I kinda enjoy Anaconda-only because that particular kind of ride experience is getting harder and harder to find since they got rid of Vortex at my home park Kings Island.
Did Apocalypse get worse when converted into FIrebird or did it stay about the same? Since I remember it was actually tolerable, kind of fun, when I rode it in it's last season. Roar was definitely much worse, same with Mind Eraser (which I think this list agrees with those assessments), but I also thought Wild One was worse just because it was far too rough to be enjoyable. Like, the roughest roller coaster I've ever experienced rough. I remember getting off of it in 2018 and remarking "that made American Eagle feel smooth." Like, it's a good layout. It's just too rough. I'd also jam Mineblower in roughly that same spot. Also Vortex is worse than what Apocalypse was.
I’m surprised by the only B&M to bang your head. I’ve had some really bad rides on other B&M’s. Georgia scorcher, rougarou, CGA’s patriot, some of the Batman the ride’s, and even a bad ride on Dominator. Pushing your head forward and sitting towards the front has helped but I’m still surprised to hear that’s the only one

My take on Grizzly at CGA. If you think of it as a family coaster, it's perfectly fine. It fills a hole in that category and it's enjoyable just not thrilling
I’m a bit confused with Mighty Canadian Minebuster. Visited CW last week and absolutely enjoyed it. Had a smile on my face the whole ride. Wilde Beast on the other hand almost took my soul, has to be the worst coaster I’ve ever ridden.
The sad thing is that many of these look better than everything at my home park of Elitch Gardens. Our best coaster is a Vekoma Boomerang. We also have an SLC...

My least favorite coaster is the Spinebuster at Canada’s Wonderland. 4:22 I know Flight Deck is violently rough, but I still find it to be quite fun. I think the jolts of the ride give it some extra fun, especially with my favorite element being that double roll.
I rode Anaconda for the first time recently. I choose to believe that the slowness is part of the theming. It's supposed to be themed to a giant snake, and a giant snake does not need to move quickly. I thought of that as I was on the ride, meandering through the last few turns. I'm not saying it's not a boring ride, because it is, but I enjoyed it more than I thought I would because I thought of that.
Put Time Warp and Voyage in front of me I'm picking Time Warp. I rode Time Warp back to back and enjoyed every second of it. I rode Voyage back to back and had to take Ibuprofen and Tums and sit for half an hour.
My first 5 trips to Carowinds I only rode Copperhead, Afterburn, Fury and Intimdator and skipped everything else. Then some friends finally talked me into vortex and hurler and they confirmed I was right. Those rides are just garbage
Hot take: I actually like Vekoma SLCs. Flight Deck isn't very good, but I really like Ednor (the only other SLC Ive ridden, although that might change soon.)

Bandit.. or Wild WIld West(how it was named during it's Warner Bros park status) in Movie Park Germany needs to be RMC'ed. It's the roughest wooden coaster I've ever done. It's just unpleasant. You have too much space in the cars with only a lapbar. Every corner you get smacked against one side of the car. In case of steel... I have two very bad ones. The Vekoma SLC and Boomerang. And.. Walibi Holland has them both. The SLC is the prototype of the series, and even with re-tracking, different trains.. it is still the worst ever. With the new trains they have seatbelt restraints.. which causes your neck to take the banging instead of your head. The other one is also a Vekoma.. The Boomerang. Alle the ones I've been on were rough. Mainly the cobra roll smacked your head and neck around. Apparently there are worse rollercoasters from Chinese and Russian manufacturers,TOGO and some others... but I can't imagine how unpleasant these are then...
It's physically impossible to drop 144 feet and only hit 50 mph- then rise more than 100 feet afterwords. Try 62 or 63 mph. The park is mislisting this...

The two at my home park are fair. I've never been a fan of Hurler. I used to like Vortex, but it seems like it's gotten rougher as it's gotten older.
