      What did you use to make the boxing stand?

    • @SENSEIJASON
      @SENSEIJASON  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@champ0021 I believe these are galvanized steel pipes. They were made by my father years ago since I was a child. I’m 29 now. But basically you just get galvanized steel pipe, galvanization prevents rusting, and make sure the ends are threaded, so that you can screw them to connect via a “connector”. I’m not sure the mechanical term, again I didn’t build it. But it seems like a relatively simple DIY anyone can do, I’m actually thinking about replicating this and making a video. But the stand I have is still good after nearly 30 years LOL.

      @@SENSEIJASON I was going to ask you about the stand. I’m looking for one like this which should be better for movement than the everlast I have. How much weight do you think it can take, and how is it mounted on the ground. Great video, I’m looking at getting one but I’m on the fence about which size. I just got a Nazo 4ft xl 135lbs, and wanted to pair it with the aqua bag. I’m 5”11 200lbs. Do you think your stand could work for me? Can you send pictures, I’d appreciate it. elioniron@hotmail.com Again great video, appreciate it

      My father built this a long time ago, he used to box and be a workout fanatic. The bar was multi use, for boxing, gymnastic, strength training, etc. Though I’m not sure about the specifics, I believe it is one main pipe, 2 side pipes, and 4 on the bottom. All of them connect via those “pipe” adaptors/connectors. I’m very sure they can all be found at the local hardware store such as Home Depot. Apologies for the poor reference haha. Hey, but if you wanna know more let me know, and I’ll ask the old man himself! Cheers by the way and happy new year!

      There is no secret, if you want to be successful you have to work hard. But many do not achieve success because they do not want to work hard. School is more important if you said WKF is just your hobby. If it is just a hobby, you can just practice for fun. Try not to stress out too much and have balance between school and training.

      Hi Terry,
      Have you ever contacted aqua bag to determine if they are exactly the same? Because Taylor made no doubt may manufacture the bags, but how are you sure they are not modifying the aqua bags for combat training? The aqua bags do come with a bow shackle and garden hose adaptor that buying a Taylor made Buoy on amazon would not include.
      Even if the bags are virtually identical, Aqua bag offers some really dope colors, plus the garden hose adapter and bow shackle.
      In any case the points I made in this video, I’m assuming, would apply to both Aqua training bag Brand & Taylor Made Buoy.

      @Terrin Jackson II Hey Terry,
      After reaching out to Aqua Bag, there customer support responded with this: “We've designed the Aqua Training Bag specifically for boxing and to hold water rather than air like buoys. A few of our bags work specifically with the ATB Sensor which provides a personalized workout experience and round-by-round analytics, something that the buoys can't pair with.”
      So perhaps the main difference is that they are designed to hold water rather than air. And to piggyback on that, I made a DIY aqua bag a few months back, using the POLYFORM Buoy brand on Amazon, and when I filled it up with water it doesn’t have the same feel as when hitting the actual Aqua bag brand, it seems there is more shock absorption due to its specific mods for boxing and impact striking. The DIY aqua I made still felt VERY brick like.
      Hope that clarifies everything!

    What do u find the give on the bag is when you throw proper power punches? Does the bag swing excessively or can you land multiple power punches in combination?

    • @SENSEIJASON
      @SENSEIJASON  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When I throw power punches on the 75 lb it is fairly decent. But I would say if you are the type of puncher who likes to just let your hands fly, the 75 lb may move more than you like. But for all around boxing it is a good bag. If you prefer the feel of the aqua bag, and also a bag that is more steady, the 120 lb bag might be better.

      @@SENSEIJASON Do you find the 15 inch bag good for head movement and slipping or is it still too big?

    • @SENSEIJASON
      @SENSEIJASON  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For me it’s good, and it’s not too big. Definitely is way better than a traditional heavy bag for slipping, head movement, and you can actually duck under or roll.

    • @MohRub
      @MohRub 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @SENSEIJASON
      @SENSEIJASON  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Head movement, for me is still great with the 18 inch bag. For me head movement is very subtle, I never want to commit to deep or too far to the side. When I evade punches it is about staying out of my opponents range while still maintaining countering range. So for me the 18 inch bag is still great for head movement.

    Hi Jason, thanks for the video! Super helpful. For reference, what's your weight class? I'm trying to decide between A2 and A3 size buoys. I'm 145 pounds so I figure the small one will work fine for me, but I can't decide.

    • @SENSEIJASON
      @SENSEIJASON  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I float between140-145lbs, and I love both my 15 inch and 18 inch bag. The 15 inch weighs up to 75lbs, and the 18 inch weight up to 120lbs. Both bags have a different workout flow when I use them. The 75 lb bag I am moving a lot more using footwork, rolls, slips, ducks. But with the 120 lb bag I can release more power for longer periods without the bag moving. So in a sense, one bag helps me out with movement/power, while the heavier bag is much more power and output focused.

      Of course! Also you should know the bag only comes with the bag itself and the bow shackle, the thing the clips on the bag allowing for hooks or carabiners to attach itself to the bag. And no chain as well. Thankfully I had a chain and some extra carabiners to help prop it up as soon as I got it. If you have a similar pull up bar set up as me, I actually am not putting it on a chain anymore, I just got some heavy bag straps off of Amazon and they were super easy and convenient to set up, plus real cheap.
