I've had one of these for five years, use it every summer with an outside setup, don't cover it- five summers, rain and shine, the stand is rusted but the bag is in flawless condition. I just empty it in the autumn and put it away for the winter.

I saw in another video where they first unboxed and filled the bag. The bag material seems very thick and stiff so now I understand why you suggested using air to inflate the bag first. I was thinking along similar lines by putting warm water (not hot) into the bag and letting the plastic/rubber material slowly reform from its' flattened shipping shape before fully filling it and stressing it to the max. A lot of the One Star comments was about the bag splitting and I wonder if filling it with cold water in a cold, flat, stiff bag might be too much stress for the material. In any case, I'd still be afraid to hang it inside my house. In the basement there is a floor drain in case my bag develops a split. Another thing I would have liked to have seen was some sort of metal/plastic circular ring or half circle between the "D" shackle and the rubber mounting hole - to spread the stress over a larger area. But, it may not be needed since I haven't read of any failures in that area.

    • @TheRollDdice
      @TheRollDdice ปีที่แล้ว

Great idea! Filling it with warm water to let it stretch out is a lot more feasible than pumping compressed air into the Aqua Bag for most of us.

Anti freeze works! I tried and left it there all winter. For this size 10 - 14 Oz of anti freeze is enough. However! You can’t get the antifreeze by simply pouring. I actually used injector to pressure press it inside the bag

  • @christianwarrior4367

Just a tip. I have had my 21" bag for 2.5 years and what I did was fill it with water 3/4 full, then with a hand pump I filled it with air till the wrinkles went away (shove the needle of the hand or foot bike tire air pump all the way in). The wrinkles are very hard to hit in cold weather. I used a ladder to place the foot tire air pump on and filled it with air till the wrinkles went away.

I put anti-freeze in my buoy to be able to hang it outside and it was just fine even when it was -10°C for a prolonged period of time recently.
(Just mix the water and anti-freeze to the correct proportions for whatever temperature you want the buoy to handle).
I also made a smaller buoy to work as a headhunter bag that I store in my basement and hang up whenever I want to use it. I believe you recommended that in an older video?

you can add a $5 shutoff valve to the end of the hose, so you don't have to return to the spigot. You're essentially bringing the spigot to the bag's end of the hose

You can buy valve adapters for the regular Water Buoys like the red thing you have in the corner.
You can get them very low money (youtube censoring the word beginning with ch) searching "Polyform U.S. Inflation Adaptor compassmarine"
Its a universal pump adapter, I imagine it must be possible to adapt the sensor to fit it or to attach a general Pressure Gauge.
I presume its just a pressure gauge in the sensor, which is why one side measures more than the other, and why they want water seeping out, to create a tight seal.

RE: maybe I had a bad batch considering the rubber plug + a car tier compressor could help inflating the bag
Living in Belgium, I bought mine online from the Netherlands.
It's a great training bag but ... on mine the plug and the reserve plug both had their tip part break off with only rather soft screwing.
The one that was in it, even broke off during the first unscrewing!
I work as a technician, so I know not to apply any more pressure than needed ... so I'm sure I was careful.
Luckily because of the rather weird design of the plug, it almost looks as if it is intended to happen (which is what I thought at first because it happened so easy) ... fortunately the part that broke lose also had a rubber stem that goes rather deep into the other part of the plug, so ... some superglue fixed the issue and because of the big area of contact, it holds excellently.
To me it seems like the plug isn't made in one part, which results in the weakness.
Keep a long nosed plyers or a good strong tweezers at hand + superglue and you'll be fine ^^
    ----
Also the garden hose adapter didn't fit my Gardena EU type garden hose nozzle ... so I had to hold the hose and nozzle adapter together with my hand.
Since I put the bag in my attic gym, I ended up not using the garden hose (connected to my washing machine water tab) but instead used my bathtub shower hose to fill the bag and just lift it up one stairs to the attic.
I chose the 70 lb / 35 kg version so I could handle it myself with relative ease.
I can recommend it. It doesn't put a lot of strain on the beams of the roof in my attic, it feels good to my wrists, ... .
You won't regret getting this smaller version AND you can manage it all on your own.
If you were to get a heavier version ... you will need a second person to help, especially if you live in a penthouse without a garden and need to fill the bag.
    ---
Since I didn't have a compressor on hand, I had some difficulty to make the bag become round since it came a bit canoe-shaped out of the box.
Since I put it in my bathtub, I could use warm (not hot) water
It wasn't too hard but also not easy to get the bag to become ball shaped.
I had to fill it as far is it would and use my hands to push on the bag to take shape.
Eventually it worked with some patience.
I would recommend using e.g. a 12v car adaptor car tier compressor and just inflate the bag next to the car before filling it with water.

Nice review. I'm considering getting the 15 inch Aqua bag (£110) or the A2 polyform buoy (also 15inch for £35). But the aqua bag is £75 ($105) more expensive than the polyform, would you say the aqua bag is still worth considering due to the softer feel of the fabric? I am happy to pay more if there would be some significant benefit particularly if it's easier on joints?

Never tried the sensor, but I love the aqua bag. I'd never go back to a traditional heavy bag. The ability to throw uppercuts is a game changer for your training. Looks like you need to add more water though, thats why you have the wrinkles. If you can remove that plug and water doesn't immediately start shooting out, then you still lots of space to add water to get rid of those wrinkles in the bag

Great content! Looks like you can really work body shots too. I'm very interested in getting this but one concern. I have limited space where I'd hang it in my home gym in the basement. I'll have to take it down when I want to use my bench press, etc in the same space. I know you showcased the 18" and that's 120#s. Obviously, a pain in the ass to hang/rehang solo. Thinking about the 15" cuz that's significantly less weight at 75# and more managable. Question: Do you think the 15# is large enough to work body shots based on your experience with the 18#?

    • @csquaredboxing

Two things I forgot to mention in the video:
The aqua sensor does NOT fit the polyform aqua buoys. The thread and diameter of the fill hole is completely different.
If you have to fill the bag yourself, you can get a garden hose shut off valve adapter that you can screw on the end of the hose. That way you can turn the water on and control the flow from next to the bag without water spraying everywhere.
    Food for thought.

  • @atrain4980

I'm planning on buying the 18" bag, but the problem is the only place where i can attach it to, is where the attachment point would be 15" from the wall. So the bag would have about 7.5" of clearance from the wall (if i understood the dimensions correctly). Would you think that would work? I've understood that the aqua bags don't create as much movement compared to traditional heavy bags. And the attachment point would be pretty low so the chains could be quite short, which would also reduce movement. Also, the place would be in my living room, so how much noise would hitting it create? I guess one could wrap the chains with something so that could help a bit.

    • @csquaredboxing
      @csquaredboxing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

That would work, and you’re correct aqua bags are typically more stationary because they absorb the energy of the shot much better than a traditional heavy bag with bounces/ swings more

I apologize if this is covered later in the video (still watching). I already set up a mount in my garage gym, and really only have room for one bag at a time. I ordered one of the smaller headhunter Aqua bags, but also want one of the big ones. How am I gonna switch them out without having to drain the big bag everytime? That seems like a pain in the ass! Really excited to use the bags, but I wanna utilize the different sizes. Theoretically, would I be able to safely lift the large bags off the chain and place it on the ground while I use the smaller one? Thanks
