      Randomly. Sometimes I go straight for abab
      Sometimes more like
      A1A1+ B A1+ A2 B+ or other patterns . Just like what feels right at that moment 😁

      I honestly cant keep those in my mind that professional thinking which i realy admire u for. Its more like my subconcious telling me what to do when i got bars ready and how i want to delivery them ( Your substractive method u showed us before really helped me in this process) . None or less, seriously professional naughty content as allways .

    Thank you Navie! Your channel proves to be invaluable and underrated in the content you post. I'm beginning to get back into my production after taking a brief hiatus, so this type of content is very much helpful. I find myself arranging in a way that sort of resembles what you've talked about, but this solidifies what I know. Creating variety and not making my music sound so repetitive is something I struggle with along with mixing.
    Thanks again!

    1.) 4-8 bar intro
    2.) 16 bar verse
    3.) 8 Bar hook
    4.)16 Bar verse
    5.) 8 Bar hook
    6.) 8 Bar bridge
    7.) 8 Bar hook (x2)
    8.) Outro

  • @BRUTHAWAR
    @BRUTHAWAR 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Because most ppl have SUCH a SHORT attention span I usually include an 808 hitting once during the intro to create some anticipation, as well a catchy snippet of the chorus.

    • @NavieD
      @NavieD  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a smart way of going about it. Do you keep the intro short relatively speaking

    • @BRUTHAWAR
      @BRUTHAWAR 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NavieD Yes. Between 4 & 8 bars, depending on the tempo. I'm also a lyrical artist with a strong message, but I've had to learn to simplify in order to hold people's attention. dramatic pauses, breakdowns & change ups in your vocals & beat keep them listening.. the balance between anticipation & unpredictable creates interest. I have a naturally lower tone voice, but i usually pitch it up a bit, because it sounds more energetic that way. The artist's way is an interesting juxtaposition of intentionality & experimentation.

  • @boothbuster
    @boothbuster ปีที่แล้ว

    Let me ask you this - have you ever toyed with the idea of just doing stacked loops with no or very little arrangement? I find that I spend a lot of production time on the structure and arrangement, because it takes (me anyway) time to figure out which notes to cut off early for the change-up, etc. (i.e., I don't usually just use the blocks and leave it at that - I like to add the candy or effects automation to transition) On the one hand, that's the only thing I'd feel comfortable releasing as a final song, but on the other, for beats for lease - how many people listen to the whole beat anyway? And can't it actually be annoying for a listener to remember where the changes are? Like for the rappers I know - one of them gets annoyed counting off the bars and would seem to prefer just hearing the main theme over and over. (kind of like what you said with the A1A2A3 - minimal changes... I have been thinking of doing more like that myself to save time) Anyway, I am just thinking, if one doesn't even know which beats are gonna sell more - why not just offer the layout and additional production as an after-service?

    Maybe this is a hip hop thing but typically bridges come after the chorus or drop. And it's not about building anticipation, that's what the verse/build is for. The bridge is a break. It's a breather. You just hyped your listener, the song hit it's high energy peak, you need to hit a calm before you hype them up again.

    • @NavieD
      @NavieD  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fair enough! I have just heard so many examples of bridges showing up in so many strange places, that I was a bit hesitant to say "this is exactly where a bridge should go"

    I find it very difficult to transition from the intro to the main beat, you got suggestions yo?

      Hmm typically including a drop, or adding a drum roll right before the verse is also a good way to go. Or a reverse crash/riser

    I'm not usually one to do any type of self promotion but I owe a lot to navie and his videos. I made a beat after watching this today its on my channel. I tried to use one of his structures along with a ton of stuff I have learned in prior vids. Navie is one of the best out there very clear and descriptive, plus most of his stuff can be used in any d.a.w. I use caustic 3 on my tablet for instance.

      Thank you Buddy! I am glad you are able to actually apply the stuff that I show. Also, I don't think I've hard of Caustic 3. Is it any good?

      Caustic 3 is a very powerful mobile app. It is good for beginners because its very straightforward and easy-to-use. You can check it out in the play store or @ singlecellsoftware.com. it loads wav files in either the beatbox or p.c.m. synthesizer. There is also 8 on board synthesizer , f.m synth, modular synth, sub synth, a baseline synth ( i believe is modeled after tr-303),k-synth ( string sounds),pad synth , 8 bit synth. If you need a mobile d.a.w I suggest checking it out. The only thing I don't get is plug ins or vst, most vst sounds icon find in wav format.

    This is one of my problem areas and this video is a great resource, however the video audio is all over the place and your voice -18db while your FL is 0db. As soon as you hit play on FL my ears start to bleed.

    There's this; average, standard and fail-proof... and there're nuts like me, who makes up to 8 different sections to spread around the full structure lmao.
