I remember singing "play me" in the back seat of my dad's late sixties red Mustang. The whole family was in the car, Mom and Dad up front, my two older sisters and me, 8 years old in the middle. As we're cruising down the road "play me" comes on the radio and I start singing along. My Dad lowers the radio and he can't believe that I'm hitting those low notes! My sisters and my mom were laughing and amazed! It was so easy because that song just grabbed me and it became a part of me right then and there. I'll never forget that moment.

Great compilation!! I’m grateful for that. How is Neil, how can he manage his illness. I think of him a lot suggesting/wishing strength and perseverance _ maybe medicine will coming up with a life-giving solution.// I’ve been a fan of Neil Diamond since Jazz Singer (touching me, as a jewish girl, deeply). For many years only his music, his fantastic voice could be heard in my car. Musically my kids grew up on Bach, Mozart, Bartók _ and Neil Diamond... I celebrated my 60th birthday with HIM (and with my friends) in Wembley Arena on the 27th June, 2008. And quite sure, his music, his voice will say goodbye to me at my funeral...

Thank you Millard, so relieved! This is one song I never thought I'd make a video for, but for some strange reason it kept creeping into my mind for over a fortnight. Eventually I relented and decided to work on it. So glad I did as I learned heaps more about the song after perusing the lyrics and listening to each and every word in earnest. I remember singing "play me" in the back seat of my dad's late sixties red Mustang.
The whole family was in the car, Mom and Dad up front, my two older sisters and me, 8 years old in the middle. As we're cruising down the road "play me" comes on the radio and I start singing along. My Dad lowers the radio and he can't believe that I'm hitting those low notes! My sisters and my mom were laughing and amazed! It was so easy because that song just grabbed me and it became a part of me right then and there. I'll never forget that moment.

Great compilation!! I’m grateful for that. How is Neil, how can he manage his illness. I think of him a lot suggesting/wishing strength and perseverance _ maybe medicine will coming up with a life-giving solution.// I’ve been a fan of Neil Diamond since Jazz Singer (touching me, as a jewish girl, deeply). For many years only his music, his fantastic voice could be heard in my car. Musically my kids grew up on Bach, Mozart, Bartók _ and Neil Diamond... I celebrated my 60th birthday with HIM (and with my friends) in Wembley Arena on the 27th June, 2008. And quite sure, his music, his voice will say goodbye to me at my funeral...

Thank you Millard, so relieved! This is one song I never thought I'd make a video for, but for some strange reason it kept creeping into my mind for over a fortnight. Eventually I relented and decided to work on it. So glad I did as I learned heaps more about the song after perusing the lyrics and listening to each and every word in earnest. I now have a greater appreciation for this song. It is obvious the Neil was so badly hurt in his early, perhaps teenage, years. Memories indeed, for us and for Neil. Take care, Doug

The guitarist was Carol Hunter, not Carol Kaye and the backup singers were Enda Hunter, Venetta Fields and Jessie Smith - 1:40.
