Thanks for your kind comments Donita, much appreciated. As you are only too aware, a lot of time and effort went into the making of this video. 9 days all-up and approximately 90 hours. Knowing what I know about the song now, made it all the more difficult to put this video together... there's the woman, Holly, next the biblical reference to Solomon's 'Song of Song' (the Old Testament), Jesus Christ (the New Testament), the lonely child, the unborn child ("the seed"). Understandably, it is, as Neil puts it "A stream of consciousness song", for the above references are masterfully interwoven into a stream of consciousness, where the listener is asked to not listen to the lyrics but to the feelings they convey. Incredible! And to think that Neil composed this amazing song at the tender age of 28. Such wisdom; such insight for one so young. A true musical genius.

My research then took me further than I originally anticipated. Once there, the only realistic course was to do a remake based on additional information received that and also the additional skills I acquired in the ensuing 8 years.

Even though 'I Am... I Said' is my absolute favourite Neil Diamond song as it mirrored my feelings and state of mind, back in the early 70s and the song that got me "Hooked", 'Holy Holy' is a powerful song, made even more so by this incredible Hot August Night 1972 performance. If you haven't already done so, try listening to this song through good quality headphones... Goosebumps! Totally agree it is the climax of Hot August Night. Thanks for your kind comments Donita, much appreciated. As you are only too aware, a lot of time and effort went into the making of this video. 9 days all-up and approximately 90 hours. Knowing what I know about the song now, made it all the more difficult to put this video together... there's the woman, Holly, next the biblical reference to Solomon's 'Song of Song' (the Old Testament), Jesus Christ (the New Testament), the lonely child, the unborn child ("the seed").
Understandably, it is, as Neil puts it "A stream of consciousness song", for the above references are masterfully interwoven into a stream of consciousness, where the listener is asked to not listen to the lyrics but to the feelings they convey. Incredible! And to think that Neil composed this amazing song at the tender age of 28. Such wisdom; such insight for one so young. A true musical genius.

Thank you Donita, truly appreciative. Having viewed my original video recently and realising its inadequacy, left me with no alternative but to consider a remake. My research then took me further than I originally anticipated. Once there, the only realistic course was to do a remake based on additional information received that and also the additional skills I acquired in the ensuing 8 years.

Even though 'I Am... I Said' is my absolute favourite Neil Diamond song as it mirrored my feelings and state of mind, back in the early 70s and the song that got me "Hooked", 'Holy Holy' is a powerful song, made even more so by this incredible Hot August Night 1972 performance. If you haven't already done so, try listening to this song through good quality headphones... Goosebumps! Totally agree it is the climax of Hot August Night.
