Exploring Beijing. What life in China is really like. YONGDINGMEN and the 24 solar terms

24th January 2025. I went to meet ex-colleagues Stuart and Kaz at YONGDINGMEN Gate and show them the columns of The 24 Chinese solar terms along the riverside. We were popular amongst the locals who wanted our photos taken with them. We walked through the park of the temple of heaven and had tea in a venue near the pearl market. After saying goodbye I cycled to Qianmen where I was meeting Peng to see the newly unearthed relic of the Water harnessing beast which was the remains of the Ming Dynasty Zhenyang bridge.
