A day in the life in China. I began a journey by train from London to China on 12th January 2020. My intention was to spend a year exploring the wonders of this huge, ancient and enigmatic country.. Who knew at that point i was headed to the epicentre of a Global Pandemic. Setting out on that adventure changed my life and 4 years later I am now making a home here. Exploring Beijing: Little New year. Walk about in Caishikou and the Fa Yuan Temple
Little new Year and the day started and ended with honouring the Kitchen God. First sweeten his mouth with sacrifices of food and then in the evening we send him off to report to the Jade Emperor on our year in the kitchen by burning his image. We were bound to Peng’s parents in Fengtai to help with moving things around for a new bed that was arriving. Our reward was lunch. We were no help as the men who brought the bed did everything.
