Apple just released iOS 17.1 for the iPhone and it comes with more than 25 brand new features and changes, along with several bug fixes, security updates, and even battery life improvements.

I just updated to 17.1 on my iPhone 13 and I can say that the phone is cooler now it doesn’t get as hot as before but in terms of battery life Its still under testing. Never the less it’s a great update 👍🏻

Quick update. The battery is slightly better it’s noticeable, performance wise it’s better it’s not lagging anymore good update. I’m happy about it

Major battery life improvement on my 14 Pro, but on 17.0.3 it was almost impossible to reach one full day without charging. Now I got drop from 93% to 34% in 24h with very similar usage
so smooth and fast

Yes, I have a wallpapers album too and this is a pretty NICE feature honestly! Years of Walls here and now I can use use this to cycle through. Might have to go in and remove a few but very cool feature

I love the ability to favorite a song from the Lock Screen! I hated having to go into the music app then bring up the menu for that song then favorite or “love” as it was then called. Favoriting is so much better! The read now section for books looks so much nicer and cleaner!

I love your videos I’m always keeping up to date with all ! but I do have one small minor issue ..so on ios17.1 they removed how you can ping your watch , you was able to add it on the control center. Then another thing they removed is when you go in messages and text people they removed the option to let people know your focus status is on - which I hope they add these two options back because these played a good major roll for the iPhones !

Does this also fix the notifications sound issue? Idk I feel like the notification sounds specifically ringtone sound was much lower in 17.0.3?

Feels much more smoother IMO. I have AOD it wasn’t a sunny day here so it seems like the battery didn’t drain a lot. We’ll see tomorrow with a full charge. But loving it so far.

I tried using my apple charger and it stopped wanting to connect and then when I use other ones like 3rd party it works just fine I thought it was a big issue but it might just be the cable?
Updating the cover of playlist always were available on AM.
Hey Brandon, I have the 2023 iPad Pro and my buttons are backwards for volume change. Before the left button was to raise and right button was to lower the volume. Well this is still an issue on my IPad, is this something that I’m experiencing or is it something that naads to be corrected by Apple? Thanks and like you updates, thanks!!!

Hi Brandon. In instagram app, when opened and kept in background for longer periods of time, the Hz in the app drop drastically and becomes unusable. So I have to force close the app and open it again. I’m not sure whether I’m the only one facing this issue but it’s been happening in my iPhone 14 Pro ever since I bought it in October 2022. Could you please look into this?

I used the 14 pm since June and I’ve never experienced any battery drain issue not until I updated to iOS 17 my battery health went from 100% to 94% in like a couple of weeks I don’t know what to do Brandon any suggestions to what I can do please 🙏🏾

I was having issues FaceTiming other people who were also on ios17 with cellular data, I tried everything I could find online but the only fix was to FaceTime them on wifi, do you know if that's been fixed in this update?
You could always set custom art for playlists - the automatic generated art is new though

Note that for standby mode set to never turn off, you are forced into having night mode on, which means you'll have to use the red tinted low ambient lighting, regardless whether you want to. Good luck to those who have trouble seeing that shade.
You can go to the Standby settings and turn off night mode. Fairly certain it doesn't impact the night mode of your overall device, if that's what you were implying.
I just want to be able to add a song to multiple playlists at one time and notifications of new songs/features of artists I favorite
my iPhone 15 display freezes sometimes while watching videos on netflix or elsewhere. i'm still able to pause to video by tapping where the button is but the screen doesn't show it for those few seconds, it's so annoying are there any fixes??
p.s.: i've tried restarting and force restarting, updating to iOS 17.1, should i reset my device??

I’m seeing one bug around notifications, when my phone is lying down notification comes but sound doesn’t comes. I’m facing after upgrading to ios 17.1

Did they fix the curser for the keyboard. On certain apps when I hold the space bar and go where I want, the curser goes back to the beginning of my sentence or paragraph
i just updated my iphone 13PM and i have to say i had no bugs, but the performance its much much better, right away was more snappy and reactive....maybe its just me, but feels much better! next month ill update the battery and will be perfect!

Brandon (or anyone else) is there a way to get the magnifying glass effect on your text when you edit your text? I thought that came back or maybe I’m imagining things.
I have this bug, when in the phone app when I go to search a contact the phone app drops. I have seen that it happens more frequently with certain letters. Like names starting with M and others. It’s frustrating looking manually for a contact.

Thanks for laying out the new features. Have you heard anything about the Blink camera notification volume. Ever since the 17.0 update it changed and you can barely hear the tone when receiving a notification. Unless I have my phone right next to me I'm not aware. I contacted Blink and they informed me Apple needs to fix it. I've restarted my phone, raised the volume on the cameras and no success. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.
