A little context to this innings:- Before this match, India played a practice match against some local team and struggled against them and Australia was at the height of their cricket. But Ganguly stood up and said we are here to fight and this one inning put the spine back in the Indian side and it was hard fought drawn series one of the best we played in Australia.

I was die hard fan of Dada whenever I used to watch dada playing I was praying to God that let him play for long and score big runs when he gets out early I was feeling so sad and I used to go out for some time for us it was not just cricket and being fan it was beyond that,in those days my father, brother all together were watching cricket we won't get back those days.
I am also like as you at the time but still I like ganguly dada batting and remembered his beautiful shots based on such videos, now he affected by cardiac problem hence I pray god that let him recover from it and lead his life peacefully and hopefully..

Dhoni has many 70*'s, 80*'s, even 90's. That doesn't mean MS is not good batsman. Ganguly used to bat at 5 or 6. Dhoni bats at 6 or 7. One of the main reason MS doesn't have a single 100 outside asia is mostly he used to bat with tailenders. bcoz VVS, sachin n dravid was not in that good form in their last times between 2008-2014. Sometimes he got out cheaply, sometime he got out on 70, 80. And sometimes he remains not out.
Did you you forget that Dhoni bats at 6 or 7. They won't get much chance to score centuries, but he has very good averages, actually better averages than Ganguly in tests and one-dayers..
