Lost key to shed lock (Carbonite master storage lock) . This worked perfect. Little $30 grinder from Harbor freight and I cut right where you said to cut. It went right through in 30 seconds with no issues. $40 total and saved a bunch of hassle. Thank you!
I'm glad I came across this video before wasting time with bolt cutters. Lost my keys when my truck was stolen and the company said they don't remove locks. I'll have to buy another grinder (also in truck), but it'll make the job much easier.
Worked like a charm. Thank you. 1) I would have never thought to use vise grips. 2) I wouldn’t have known where to cut. Thanks for taking the time to make this video!
Just a quick thank you for this informative video. I lost my keys and of course I have the disc disc lock where you can't put cutters in so I have to grind it off I'm on my way to the store to get a battery operated one.
GREAT! Job thirty second a locksmith price to do that is 85 dollars considering Gas prices and driving to the location guest it's cheap! Thank you! Sir
@@juliavassar2047 I had one on a storage locker and needed to remove the lock because we lost the keys. I used a large vise grip to hold the lock and drilled straight into the lock cylinder wir a colbalt 3/8 drill bit. Tole took about a minute.

Great video re: how to cut padlock off, however not everyone knows what the name of that tool is called. I'll buy the tool, if/when I know what it's called. Could we get the name of the tool he used to cut the lock off??!
Thanks for the clear directions. I saw it would be difficult to cut the bar fastener and wondered what was the “other” way. I think I can do this. I lost my key to the lock. The storage facility wants to charge $35 to remove the lock.
🤡. Rule 1.. With any rotary tool is to not use gloves. ... Forget the part where he said that this is a harder lock to cut but look at my $230.00 Home Depot tool.. 20th shot... Ya got it down pat jimmy.
Easier said than done. Not every one knows how to pick a lock. Wish I did know how. I just discovered I lost the key to my storage room padlock. I don't have a tool like that, & I don't know how to pick a lock. So now what do I do????
@@austinluepkes5484 doesn’t matter. The one I just did I couldn’t actually get it on the locking bar. I had to just eat through the whole lock itself. Happened in 20 seconds tops
I'd just cut the sliding hasp with a bolt cutter then finish with a 3' pry bar. Heck, I can do it with just the pry bar. Why attack a hardened steel shackle when you can attack the soft metal carrier??? Never, ever trust your storage unit with items you can't replace.
Nah just good strong bolt cutters will do the trick. Had to cut mine cuz I lost the key and was after hours, needing to get into my storage, took out the bolt cutters and in about 30 secs after 5 or 6 attempts it snapped right off!
Why the hell are you showing how to do this? As if theft isn’t already a problem you make a step by step video to show people how to break in more efficiently
Almost useless video. Woulda been nice if you marked where you were going to cut with a sharpie and showed us that line clearly, instead of holding the large angle grinder up to the lock. Or you coulda cut a bit and then removed the till so we could see the cut mark. 😕
It's not just "sparks" dude. It's fine pieces of extremely hot metal moving at 100 miles an hour (at least) that can blind you or damage your eyes permanently. Those safety glasses you have are shite. Get the wrap around kind for the face shield. Wearing 2 pair is a good idea. Yes really.

What size grinder disc did you use?
@@zeusdagmire6185 just standard size. They all the same in harbor freight.

just forgot hearing protection. This is important!
I watched this video three times. One my first try, I had the lock off within 20 seconds. Perfect video!
Not perfect video when you can't see where to cut!
Good god... Use a drill and drill the bottom of the keyhole out to remove all the pins and it will open right up in 15 seconds....
Worked like a charm. Thank you.

I would wear those safety googles for every day use. They look awesome!
Those are not googles they are safety glasses
GREAT! Job thirty second a locksmith price to do that is 85 dollars considering Gas prices and driving to the location guest it's cheap! Thank you! Sir
Just use a drill with a 3/8 bit, and drill the keyway. Way safer and possibly 10-15 seconds quicker when you get started.
3/8 drill bit with clamp on guide and a cordless drill works just as easy.
Can you explain more please I'm desperate lol

Thank you for the video, now my stuff get stolen more easily than ever.
Dude thank you for this video. I misplaced my key and they wanted to charge $500 to do this very same thing
who the heck was charging that?! That is disrespectful to the fullest 😩
Wish you zoomed in on where to cut or posted a photo of best place to cut
Yes. I am learning and really would like to see a video of where the cut should be.
Yes! Somebody besides me needs to see more, not less.
As someone who cuts locks everyday- the vice grips are overkill and not needed

Or drill straight through the key entry on the lock and it pops open
Really? My key broke off in there....can I still drill it?
I just watched a video where someone used bolt cutters on a brinks disk lock and it went through no problem
Thank you for sharing!

What if the lock is turned around? Same cut or do it from the bottom?

Any particular size of grinder for this ?

Seems cheaper to just have them do it honestly .. depending on how often u lose ur key anyway
Our facility doesn't allow tenants to remove locks.
They want $85. I have two lockers! Yet they won’t let me cut them.
Can't see where to cut...so not clear.
man, I haven't found a single unit that can't be easily broken into.
Great video!
Don't forget ear protection...
😂😂😂
Would I use a cut-off wheel or a grinding wheel?
Use a drill. It's way safer than a cutting wheel. They take about the same amount of time
Will this work on a ubox lock what one should I get for that
Two minutes and thirty nine seconds for a 39 second video.
Sweet.
…then swing by Georgetown, Tx! ..I lost my key
That’s how we did it.
All those sparks though, will they burn ur arms or through your clothes
Yes, it often burns people to death.
Or damage the paint? I read it can and of course I will be charged! 😢
How About Pro Lok Disc Off And Drill It Much Easier And Faster And Safer
Why not show the lock then we can see where to cut.

How come you don’t use gloves when using a rotary tool? Just curious I don’t have a lot of experience using these types of tools
Where did the lock go
Latch
Or you could just pick it in under a minute.
How ?
Is it too difficult to say, "this is the tools I am using. Now watch."
I have a cylinder lock
1/4” drill bit a little to the side of the keyhole. Drills right through.
Or just pick it
Nope….. tried to pick it for 2 hours and all got was blisters all over my fingers 🤨. That’s it gonna drill it now. Here I come you damnnn 🔒😁
