I never did... But only because I told my younger sister that I wanted to buy the apricot scrub because I *thought* it was better and healthier than having plastic beads. Lol. She set me straight. Lol.
I wAs aBoUt tO, I got puberty early so when I got acne I started watching skincare vids. Ofc one of them recommend the St Ives apricot scrub and I was gonna buy it, until I met Hyram. AND I'M THANKFULLED I NEVER HAD THE PHASE
Can you tell me what's wrong with it? I'm using the micellar oily - infused cleansing water dry and sensitive skin of Garnier and I think it really works on my face.
This just makes me think about how a lot of people were dragging the Kylie Skin scrub for containing walnut shell, but then might've also been using St Ives scrubs. ALSO PLEASE DO A REVIEW ON SIMPLE!!
I've used the apricot scrub for over 25 years and frankly my skin is in great condition considering my age. Any product on the market that is misused can damage your skin. I love this product using a pea sized amount about 3 times a week!
I’m almost 20 and always had dry skin and pimples. Almost everything I tried either made my skin too oily, dried it out even more, it just made it worse. About a year ago I’ve started using the smooth gentle rose water and aloe Vera. It feels amazing on my skin. Totally soft and clean feeling. I use maybe a half a quarter size once a week.
I LOVE St. Ives Apricot Scrub! It is my holy grail product and I have tried pretty much everything. Believe what you hear on the weird web and you will miss out on a great product. :)
This video was so informative! So I've been using St ives for 5 years! I gotta be honest, it's worked REALLY well for me. I exfoliate every other day, and it's really helped my acne scars, makes my skin glow, feel soft, etc. I feel as though I'm the outlier in this situation though, so I don't want anyone to start using it if it hurts their skin. Everyone's skin is unique in that way :) I'm probably gonna keep using St ives, because my skin tends to break out if I switch up the products. But I am glad I watched this video in case I want to switch it up!
I'm an outlier too. I use it about once every 2 weeks since I was a teenager. I don't rub it in like I'm scouring burnt caramel out of a pan. But a very light touch and only for a minute at the most.
@@Hyram dude review the mama earth products from India..they had clearly given the ingredients where was it taken from..open minded business tactics you must see the products
I use St Ives acne treatment once a week, in the shower, and use a very light touch. It has helped my menopause-caused acne. So, oh well. My daughter who follows you thinks I’m crazy. But at 53, I gotta go with what works.
If it works for your skin, just keep using it! Honestly, I think that the majority of the people that had problems was because they overused it or didn't use it correctly. Yes, it's a walnut harsh scrub, but if you rub it gently and use it only once a week it should be fine.
“The first product is..” Me: oh god don’t be the one I use “St Ives apricot-“ :| Edit: don’t worry guys I dropped it :) Edit 2: i actually started using the yttp green tea and kale cleanser about 2 weeks ago after watching this video XD and lemme just say I’ve never been so happy I’m not saying I have perfect skin because it’s only been 2 weeks but my redness is almost gone y’all and I currently have no pimples just some texture and dark spots st Ives left behind I have had acne for 2 years now and to finally be seeing a difference makes me so happy for anyone struggling you just gotta look into your skin type and find the products that are right for you. Trial and error was key for me and it was a pain but it gets better:)
I've been using the ST.Ives radiant skin scrub for about 3 months now, but I don't see any problems. It actually brightened my skin and evened out the tone... Maybe I don't have sensitive skin but it did more good than bad for me.
The ingredients dont contain walnut shells, it's hydrated silica, which he mentions isn't a bad exfoliant, there's also glycerin as the third major ingredient. I think it's double lemon, orange combo that's supposed to be, I assume, irritating to skin, but it is listed as one of the last, and least ingredients
I used the apricot scrub in high school. Then my ex had bad back acne and it kinda helped him. Only thing that sucked was that he’d call me to rub it on his back.
I remember when I was in middle school and started getting acne, my mom bought me the apricot scrub and I used it EVERY DAY. No wonder my acne just kept getting worse :( so glad teens have hyram to get them through the teen acne days!!!
Malyssa Sadler YES me too. My teen self was like “oh wow more acne? Needs more scrubbing... and benzoyl peroxide products” topped with the thinnest smear of a moisturiser 😳 Oh how my routine has changed big time
Oh my god- I remember when I started with skincare like 1 year ago (I was 14 now I‘m 15 and in two month 16😂) and I was like watching through Pinterest, Insta, Twitter and all that stuff and I saw this Scrub everywhere and I was like “ I need that in my life bitch” but I live in Germany so we don’t have this brand like you can only get it online I think and my mom didn’t allow me to buy it online BUT NOW I’M HAPPY I NEVER DID😳😅
@@Hyram Hi Hyram.I know that there are rarely fragrance free lip balms so I wanted to recommend u one.It is the "hydrating lip balm for dry lips" by Avon care.I have very very sensitive lips that react to everything and this is the only one that helps me.The also have one called "moistusing lip balm with royal jelly"and it also has SPF 15....luv u and stay safe
When I saw the title I immediately thought "the apricot scrub will get draggedd" 😂😂😂🥰🥰 Aha we finaly broke him. We got you talking about it.. i love youu
St Ives was the entry to skin care hell as a teenager for me. Thanks to my mum who has horrible skin but was sadly the only woman in my life who could guide me through my first skin care experiences. She also got me the super super damaging Clinique three step skin care for me- super drying face soap, super alcoholic astringent that made my face and eye whites go pink & a horrible moisturiser that made my skin feel clogged up. :( My early teen years were horrible thanks to them & I had really good skin before that. It took 6y for my skin to be nice again.
I've found them too harsh for my skin too. Even when I'd tried the "sensitive skin" version many years ago, it felt like sand paper :) I'd never tried the "gentle smoothing scrub and mask oatmeal, " but their newer version apparently now has walnut shell powder, yikes!
Lol. Nice reference. There are actually a very select few physical exfoliators that are quite good though. I really like Garnier's PureActive Charcoal exfoliating gel. It's got 2% salicylic acid and the beads are so fine and gentle. Also, the activated charcoal does help somewhat. It's the only drugstore physical exfoliant I've personally tried and feel comfortable recommending to people.
I still don’t understand why there’s people recommending this walnut scrub on Twitter skin care threads🤔 Yet I’m glad there’s people warning others regarding the future consequences of using this product.
Coming from someone who’s had pretty bad acne for almost 5 years (and hasn’t seen completely clear skin since the age of 11), I’m ordering some of your recommended products tomorrow and ill update and let you know how it changes my skin because I have literally tried everything and was almost giving up until I came across your channel ❤️ Edit: omg thanks for the likes you guys ❤️
Hannah Waterman I’m on my second course:) but in the us it can be pretty expensive, especially in addition to derm appts (which is why i’m happy i’m in canada!!) and some people just may not have access to it or their dermatologists don’t want them to go on it!
Lexi Bogart Try it and give it time! Good products need to be used regularly for at least a month to see benefits. Trust me, you will get there. I promise. ♥️
M f I was using the st Ives salicylic acid cleanser and it was making my face red (and my acne scars more noticeable) and I watched hyram’s video reviewing st Ives and threw that stuff out so quick
I clicked on this so fast lol. My "St. Ives phase" occurred while I was on Accutane and consisted of me aggressively trying to scrub off my peeling face multiple times a week with the apricot scrub filled with walnut shells. My face now hates me. Before that I was using clean n clear wash, salicylic acid toner (mainly just denatured alcohol) and lotion 3 TIMES A DAY! I and my skin have come a LONG way since I found Hyram, Dr. Dray, Susan Yara, Liah Yoo, James Welsh, and everyone else in the skincare community. ❤️ I now get red pustules on my nose any time I use an active ingredient such as exfoliating acid toners and retinol. 😬
I hope Simple is fine, I love the brand and hope that Hyram will say its okay, if he says its not a good brand I will still stop buying most of their products even though some products dont use fragrances, they're vegan, they dont use chemicals
Middle School and High School I never really had to deal with a lot of acne, I was blessed in that. I bought a St. Ives face wash ONCE. Used it, broke out and in the trash it went. I haven't been a subscriber here long, but I've learned MORE about skin care in such a simple manner. Googling ingredients can be a bit overwhelming. Ended up placing an order for The Ordinary. Bought almost everything recommended, never had heard of them prior. Thank you for your channel. Can't wait to go see old videos and learn more.
Just revieved my first The Ordinary order today! Super excited to try it out, especially as I used to (by which I mean until this month when I discovered Hyram...) just use Wilko's own brand tea tree skin products 😬.
Watching this is so wild to me. My entire skincare other than my toner is entirely St. Ives. The Refreshing Scrub has goten rid of all my AWFUL dry skin patches, and I use it every other day. The Refreshing Body Wash got rid of my strawberry legs, my dry skin bumps, and lightened me overall which I love. I just love what its done for me, and I guess I'm just an odd ball 🤷
When I was in a really dark place with my breakouts and acne I didn’t know what to do and would just buy everything I thought would “cure” my skin I have had acne ever I was 11 years old and I am way more confident in my skin now because of Hyram and Cassandra Bankson I have ditched products like st Ives and started educating myself about ingredients in my skincare my skin and self esteem are a million times better thank you Hyram and Cassandra TRUST me!! Things will get better don’t be so hard on yourself be realistic To ANYONE!!! suffering with acne you are beautiful, loved and validated I hope you all feel loved and respected!! 🖤💜❤️
Omg same when I was 10/11 I bought random stuff like that, I would scrub my face with the st ives scrub like 3 times a day untill like 3 months later I ditched skincare now I'm 12 and I've learned alot from Hyram
I can relate with being in a dark place ( I never tried this brand but .. Hiram help me with skincare and cleaning out my whole collection and my skin is more clearer
Do you think you can go a little in depth about your personal skin care routine? I'm in sort of the same situation. I'm trying to inform myself more on skin care because my acne has been really bad for years. I'm trying to take better care of myself so I would like to hear what you use!
Yess I also started getting pimples when I was 11 but I was lucky enough to find hyram a few months after I started getting pimples. But before that tho... I was using those freeman mask. This year I’m gonna be 13 and my skin has improved but it’s still in the process of recovering
St. Ives has a moisturizer I’ve discovered that’s about $5 called their collagen and elastin moisturizer. It smells nice and makes my skin super soft and glowing. I don’t use it on my face, but I do use it as lotion. It’s the only product by them that I use.
"I feel like everyone have went through a st Ives phase" No no no I went through a clean and clear face ( still teenage me) cos of my 'if it is cheap I'll buy' mum but started watching you not long after THANKFULLY
Wiktoria Dusik ughhhhh same someone was asking me about what I use because we both have unclear skin and ye and I said I used to use clear and clean and it was terrible and now I want to get the ordinary but they said it was shit 😂😭 but it’s not !!!
My mom did the "whatever is cheapest is what we'll get" until last year when I started buying my own skincare barely a step up but in the last couple of months I found hyram and my skin is doing so much better since I learned to avoid diy and fragrance etc. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
BLESSED YOU MADE THIS! I use the blackhead green tea one everyday twice a day. I feel like it has cleared my skin but I also added toner, blemish stick, etc. Definitely going to be changing to one of the recommended products once I finish this product (rather use the rest of the product then create unnecessary waste) - Thanks Hyram for the review! I added video ideas I would love to see you do below❤️ Ideas for videos: - Thayers - Would love to see a Thayers review next! I use the Lemon (😵) blemish stick and cucumber toner and know many people do too! - Philosophy purity line - I use to use the cleanser but. I felt it wasn’t making a change - they have so much in their line would love to hear your opinions! - opinions on Clarasonics and those type of products - Reusable cotton swabs and cotton rounds! These are cool to me but are they worth it? I messaged you on Instagram (@cschipelliti follow me y’all, shameless self promo lol) with more ideas! I have a lot and if you ever need any HMU homeboi (or any other person who needs video ideas I gotchu) Love you Hyram sorry this is long I write like I talk... a lot
If you want you can maybe use the scrub on your elbows and knees (so you can use it up faster) I did that with one of my physical exfoliators and it helped my elbows and knees get lighter! :)
Oreo Panda theyre good for mature skin but they have tons of scents. my moms a mary kay seller and it works for her skin but all the fragrance caused me to breakout
Don't use it on your face, BUT!!! You can use it for your body. More like for parts of your body that are not sensitive as your face is. For example I use this for 1 year now just for my buttcheeks. I had terrible discoloration because of the pimpeles and also lots of pimples because of sweat and the fact that the skin there don't breathe. I started using the apricot scrub in the shower and a zinc cream (that babys are using for dippers) right after shower on dry skin. Now I'm having perfect skin in that area and everytime when I have a new pimpel it goes away in 2 to 3 days max! I know that this things depends on how your skin is, but for me worked this product like this.
I’ve literally used this product for over 15 years 🤦♀️ I’m now looking at my face and blaming every imperfection on this- sad times but I’m forever grateful for the gorge Hyram for changing my skincare life
do you specialize in skin care or something or are you simply just presenting an opinion? my acne was really bad, my cysts looked like bulbs under my skin (yes it sounds gross but it's the truth). but using it actually helped me. i went to every dermatologist within a 15-mile radius looking for help and all they did was recommend i take accutane, buy their products, and get a $6000 laser surgery that my parents couldn't afford. ever since i was 15, i avoided scrubs. mainly because the dermatologists would tell me to never use them, that it would ruin my skin. so i let my skin worsen and worsen, not even the medication they prescribed helped despite me taking it consistently. i regret never trying something new until i was 19. i started using st ives and that helped me so damn much, i can't even begin to describe the relief i felt. i never understood the hatred behind the scrub other that a lawsuit that was thrown out the window cause there wasn't sufficient evidence that the scrub cause microtearing. when i went back to the dermatologist, she thought it was the meds she prescribed me and that i had gotten a surgery that helped my skin, but i told her i changed my skin routine and started exfoliating my face. she was very concerned, mainly because she's very against exfoliation and scrubs, so of course it shocked her when she saw it could actually work lol. see, the thing is, you don't have to try and rub off your skin with a scrub, cause of course that's gonna irritate it! just gently wash your face in circular motions, that's all it takes. seriously, i've tried it all. i've had acne for 7+ years, i'm 21 now and it's only because i started scrubbing my face that i finally found a damn solution. guys, please don't be afraid of trying something new. if it doesn't work out, that's fine. just stick to your regular routine if that works, but please don't sit around and wait like i did.
That’s amazing congrats 🥳 what did u do about ur acne scars? because my acne is reducing now I have some redness and hyperpigmentation PS I agree with the statement where the new trend of skincare has become that our skins are overly sensitive they are not!! Exfoliating scrubs / products for most people will do fine
That's true! I have been in the same situation. It all depends on the type of skin that you have. I normally have a sensitive skin and St.yves is the only product that helped me with my acne breaks. I only use the scrub for 2 times a week. Been using it for 4-5 years already along with the moisturizer 🍾 my skin just keeps on getting better lmao
Idk this man doesn’t have a degree and that lawsuit against st Ives was thrown out for lack of evidence. If it works for you I say just do what works best and speak to the real professionals lol

@@yesmaam3536 do some research into multi level marketing schemes (which is what arbonne is), basically they're like the legal version of a pyramid scheme and take advantage of people who don't know any better. you pay a big fee to sign up and often have to keep buying products to promote them (although they'll tell you the discount you get makes it worth it), and then you have to pester your friends and family to get them to make sales through you or to try recruit people bc thats pretty much the only way you make the money back. and every sale you make or person you recruit, a percentage of the profit goes to the person above you who recruited you. They also tell you you own your own business but you really dont, you dont design or make the products, you didn't create the brand, it's part of the manipulation tactics that they tell you in weekly meetings etc A lot of people go into debt because of it and lose a lot of close relationships, it's really sad :(
me, watching a whole video of him dragging and exposing St. Ives : “damn that’s crazy” **continues to wash my face with the green tea black head cleanser because i’m not about to waste my money**
tbh, i have been using st ives apricot scrub since middle school and im 23 now! it works really well for me and it's the only thing that will get rid of my acne scars asap! i do think these micro tears that st ives causes kinda works as mirco needling .. i love it, i will continue using it as it is my little miracle :)
You know when you go to the loo at your mate's house and the St Ives apricot scrub is just staring at you while you pee lmao. Also Hyram says it's a teenage thing but I swear everyone's mum uses this
Meanwhile, I've been using the St. Ives Green tea scrub for 2 years now... I use it every other day (night time). It made wonders to my skin though. Yes I've experienced purging on the first week. But men. In the long run I had no complains at all. It became my holy grail since then... Am I an odd one? 😅 Edit: now I'm only using it 3 times a week. And i switched it during the day because of its benefits. 🤣. I tried the apricot one before but I find it irritant on the skin since the beads are quite big. Whereas the green tea one has fine beads and my skin feels refreshed after every use. ❤️
well... I JUST bought a st ives bundle pack (apricot scrub and green tea cleanser) haven't used them though. edit: after 3 weeks I can see nice changes in my skin tone and less whiteheads and acnes and all that stuff. It does make my skin a bit dry especially after I used the scrub (I used every other day) so thank God for moisturizer. Definitely would keep using these.
I've started a new product that has rosewater and aloe (they're about halfway through the ingredients list, too -- so at least got some benefit) and the grit of the exfoliant is super fine, and I only use it once a week, so it's been pretty good to me, thus far.
I’ve had great results with it. I use it especially after a full day of makeup and it’s always been great to my skin. It does strip it a bit but I use the cerave moisturizing cream after and it’s been a great combo. It’s helped clear my skin too
The only St. Ive's scrub I've ever bought was the oatmeal one, and that was the last actual scrub Hyram mentioned. If I'm going to exfoliate mechanically, I chose the least problematic, I guess. Its gentleness is also kind of up to you and the pressure you put on your skin. I'm always careful with it and use it on occasion
Teresa Hannasch the oatmeal one is the best out of all of them but the only thing I hate is that they changed the formula of it because it use to be a lot more creamy a couple years ago.
St Ives products helped me when I had really bad eczema and nothing else could keep it at bay. And I used everything else under the sun until I read really good reviews in a forum of people with eczema... so , if you’re desperate dealing with eczema give it a go ! Don’t let this stop you. St Ives Shea Butter moisturizer is a life saver
Are we also gonna ignore the fact that walnut scrubs should be cancelled because of how many people are severely allergic to walnuts? They have no business being in skincare 🤷🏻♀️
I mean I also think they have no place in skin care (at least as an exfoliating ingredient) but by your logic we should also cancel all foods that contain peanuts LOLLLLL
The St Ives apricot scrub literally BURNT my skin off. No joke. A 1st degree burn. It happened 4 years ago, and I still have a massive scar. And I think this has also happened to many others who weren’t aware of how damaging it is.
I literally love this bish! I found his channel in my Fyp and after I watched one of his tik tok reacting videos, I honestly just kept watching his videos and couldn’t stop. But I am glad I watched this video in case I want to switch it up!
same girl i’ve been using it for like 6 years and I love it 😭
Same. I've been using it for 3months now and I don't see any bad effects. The truth is it really help me a lot.
I'm an outlier too. I use it about once every 2 weeks since I was a teenager. I don't rub it in like I'm scouring burnt caramel out of a pan. But a very light touch and only for a minute at the most.

Everyone’s skin is sooo dif! It’s so crazy!!

Funny how different everyone’s skin is!!
Yes I’m using their oats scrub and it worked for me
The ingredients dont contain walnut shells, it's hydrated silica, which he mentions isn't a bad exfoliant, there's also glycerin as the third major ingredient. I think it's double lemon, orange combo that's supposed to be, I assume, irritating to skin, but it is listed as one of the last, and least ingredients

I used the apricot scrub in high school. Then my ex had bad back acne and it kinda helped him. Only thing that sucked was that he’d call me to rub it on his back.
jesus christ, I'm sorry to hear that.

You poor baby 😭
I've found them too harsh for my skin too. Even when I'd tried the "sensitive skin" version many years ago, it felt like sand paper :) I'd never tried the "gentle smoothing scrub and mask oatmeal, " but their newer version apparently now has walnut shell powder, yikes!
Clinique somehow works for my extremely oily dad so idk, but that’s not me LMAO
Hyram: No, I don't want no scrubs. A scrub is a product that can't get no love from me.
Me being totally random, you look like taylor swift
🤣🤣🤣
I sing it.

I promise. ♥️
Hannah Waterman I’ve heard of it but I’m afraid of the side effects so I’ve never tried it
M f I’ve started using the cerave cleanser and moisturizer and I see a difference in my skin already!
“You guys are way more smarter than I am”- the most false phrase in the planet.

Same in high school I had clear skin until I used a St. Ives scrub
If it's great for you, stick to it. I use the oatmeal and it's the best scrub I've ever used, and I've been through so many. Do you .

The St.Ives apricot scrub sitting on my desk: 👁👄👁
Use it for your body. Like back or butt if you have acne there.

Edit: now I'm only using it 3 times a week.
It’s helped clear my skin too
Am I the only one who noticed so many "I want Hyram to make a skincare line" these days like what did I miss, I'd buy his products tho
She's Jisoo She's okay That’s been present in the comments since, like, always
St. Ives: *dares to exist*
Hyram: No. Absolutely not.

is this video applicable for body scrubs?

The only St. Ive's scrub I've ever bought was the oatmeal one, and that was the last actual scrub Hyram mentioned. If I'm going to exfoliate mechanically, I chose the least problematic, I guess. Its gentleness is also kind of up to you and the pressure you put on your skin. I'm always careful with it and use it on occasion
Teresa Hannasch the oatmeal one is the best out of all of them but the only thing I hate is that they changed the formula of it because it use to be a lot more creamy a couple years ago.
You should bought it its amazing really I'm using since 4days and I see the big result for my acnea
I'm using the one of alimon
That's the one I use and I love it 🤭
That was my first scrub hahah i still use it
St Ives products helped me when I had really bad eczema and nothing else could keep it at bay.
They have no business being in skincare 🤷🏻♀️
um yes hi I am horribly allergic to walnuts and everyone should stop putting it in skincare thank
Lol kids cant take peanut butter sandwiches to school but this is a thing...wut
I mean I also think they have no place in skin care (at least as an exfoliating ingredient) but by your logic we should also cancel all foods that contain peanuts LOLLLLL
@@rory5167 fun fact: peanuts are NOT nuts. They are legumes.
@@rory5167 noooooo me like me peanuts
The St Ives apricot scrub literally BURNT my skin off. No joke. A 1st degree burn. It happened 4 years ago, and I still have a massive scar. And I think this has also happened to many others who weren’t aware of how damaging it is.
How?? Did u just scrub ur skin?
@@froggy3268 with fire
Sue them damn
Or maybe you bought the fake one? Or the product was expired?
IDK if this was from st, Ives but after using it my skin burns whenever I put anything on it!
