If you are new here :-
    - We don't use makeup wipes
    - If you wear makeup think about double cleanse
    - No products with fragrance
    - Diy skincare is a big NONO
    - Eye creams are expensive moisturizers
    - Sunscreen!!! (SPF) Every.Single.Day
    - Chemical exfoliators >>>>>>>
    - YES To Niacinamide
    - ( Drying ) Alcohol in ingredients = Don't Buy
    - No raw coconut oil on your skin If you do you're choosing death
    - We like 'The Ordinary' and 'CeraVe'
    - We also stan 'The Inkey List'
    - Always moisturize (even if you have oily skin)
    - We need to take down St.Ives
    - We do shoulder shakes daily
    Hope it helps you !!

Hyram, you have helped me so much with my skincare routine. My first experience with "skincare" was using makeup wipes to get my foundation off when I was 12-14. That was it. Nothing else, just makeup wipes (and sometimes I didn't even use those...).
The other day I went to my dermatologist to talk about treatments for my acne scars (I started my skincare a bit too late, but according to her, the scarring is very minimal :D), and when I showed her my skincare routine she was extremely impressed. She said that my skin was some of the best she's seen in a 16-year-old after struggling with cystic acne for 5 years, and it's thanks to you that I can look in the mirror and not hate what I see.
My skin has done a 180º since I stumbled across this channel at 300k subs. You deserve all of the love and support you receive, and *CONGRATS ON 2 MIL SUBS!!!*

I’m not sure if this will help anyone because I’m a literal high schooler giving advice BUT that being said I have really stubborn acne and don’t have a lot of money to go to the dermatologist so I have figured out how drugstore brands can work for me. To go back to the purging topic I have noticed that this is what happens with me, I always get a couple of spots because me skin isn’t used to it; that being said if I’m still breaking out after two weeks then it’s no longer purging and it is just my skin breaking out. The other type of purging that I get is dry skin purging for this kind you just have to push through it. I talked to my doctor and he said that the flaking skin is actually your skin healing itself and helping create a more protective better layer of skin and that is good and will help you clear up. So I think purging happens to an extent but if it gets really severe with both acne and dry skin then it’s not purging, it ur skin getting upset. I hope this helps 💛

I prefer using olive oil though :) it got pretty much all of the surface level oil/sebum plugs out.
(Edit four years later) Olive oil can hard to wash or wipe off so be careful. Also, Simple's sensitive for skin light moisturizer and rich moisturizer are great products and their micellar water is not bad either.

Hi isabella, my understanding is the micellar water is the first cleanse before washing your face. It will help break down all the oils and sebum your skin builds up throughout the day before going in with a wash. It is not harsh at all. If you don’t wear makeup, it isn’t a big deal but it can be helpful to ensure your face is nice and clean, especially if you struggle with break outs. Also: Please wear sunscreen!!!! Every. Dayyyy.

I’ll take a crack at it. The Simple foaming cleanser is basic but good for normal, dry, and sensitive skin types. The cleansers (potassium cocoyl glycinate and sodium lauroamphoacetate) are extremely mild and non-irritating. You might prefer something that gives a little deeper of a cleanse if you have oily skin. It has glycerin, panthenol, and allantoin which are moisturizing, hydrating, and soothing. One interesting ingredient it has is sodium ascorbyl phosphate which is a more stable form of vitamin C which will brighten the skin, provide antioxidant benefits, and promote collagen production. It is a wash off formula though so don’t expect any miracles.

Got to say I’m pretty sure they’ve always been fragrance free as I think that’s what drew me to them in the first place! Kind of intrigued to try the micellar gel wash as that range wasn’t available when I used to be a simple fan may have to give it a go when my cleanser next runs out! From what I heard, people use micellar water to remove cosmetics and bits of dirt /oil from our face but it doesnt clean thoroughly. @@afnanabbas5851 combination oily that's dehydrated and acne prone. It's been 2 months after that post and a lot of things went southwest.
      1. I discovered I'm allergic to niacinamide(both the TO serum and cosrx bha contain niacinamide)
      2. I'm also allergic to snail products(so i had to give away the snail products to my family) probably because I'm allergic to dust mites
      3. I'm using too many products AT THE SAME TIME, and when i face problems, i have no idea which product is the culprit
I hope you don't make the same mistskes as I did😭 because I wasted a lot of money due to ignoring number 1&3. If you're buying a lot of new skincare at the same time, be sure to test each product for 2-3 days and watch out for red flags before moving onto the next product. Also, I want to remind you that you don't need to wear fancy/popular skincare to see results. Try not to give in to the temptation. Keep in your mind that every skincare takes time to work no matter how many people claim it works overnight. And your skin will react differently to different ingredients. Just because the majority of people find that niacinamide cured their breakouts, doesn't mean it will work for you the same. For my case, niacinamide worsened my breakout, and the paula's choice bha wasn't any different from my way cheaper cosrx bha(which i sold due to the niacinamide). So yeah, spend wisely, and stick to your routine with patience. Hope you find the perfect skincare routine!
