I had no idea that Dali and Disney actually collaborated on a project, even if it hadn't been completed in either of their lifetimes. Still, it is nice to learn about your favorite artist and why he is such an inspiration to you :)
In St. Petersburg, Florida, there's a whole museum dedicated to Salvador Dalí, and I had a blast there with my family seeing many of his famous works and photos of him and other artists like Pablo Picasso. The place even had something like a lifesize hologram/AI version of Dalí that would say things in his voice (or what I assumed to be his voice, having never heard what he sounds like). If you're ever in Florida, I highly recommend checking it out!
Aww one of my art buddies from College LOVED Surrealism and it was pretty obvious it influenced her paintings in class. I can't remember if she said Dali was her fav artist though. But she always liked the idea of 'dreams' influencing her art. I knew you were going to mention MLP. It was the first thing I thought of when I saw the topic of this video. I wish my fav artist got referenced haha. It's another famous one, Claude Monet. When I took Drawing II in college, we had to do an atmospheric perspective drawing and my professor said how my drawing reminded her of Impressionism. I did my own research on it (before I even learned about it more in Art History), loved the concept and what Monet thought about art, and the rest is history. Surrealism may not be my fav art movement, but I have high respect for Dali and others like him for also breaking the rules while establishing their own. Give me that over Pop art any day . . .
You poured so much effort into explaining your love and passion of not just Dali but also Surrealism as a whole, wonderful job. I'm curious what are your thoughts on Bosch's "Garden of earthly delights"?
Surrealism is as closely to having a representation of the mind palace in us all. Makes me feel like a reality bender with infinite possibilities. Especially after 3D computer simulations were possible and got super tripped vaporaves. Dali is one of my favorite artists for making me dare to dream of the worlds that can be.
please... learn a bit more about this guy... he exploited and abused animal and women. He supported a fascist reigeme in Spain.... i mean i get he's dead and his work its interesting, but like pablo picaso idk if hes the best role model to follow. It has been proben he faked his ''craziness'' to gain attention, it was all an act. Plus there are multiple theories that half of his work was not even made by him
Please don't assume I don't know all this. I litterally said in the begining of the video I understood what a tortured and exploited person he was. I didn't bring up the fact he was a fascist becaused I'm not telling people about the man, I am talking about the Art and what it means to me and why he is my favorite Artist. This isn't a documentary, it is ME talking about MY thoughts and experiences because I firmly believe that regardless of who made the art, the message that it brings to you when you see it comes from the concious self, might it be your own self or an outerself. If you want facts, go watch a documentary. But never EVER make assumptions on someones ignorance. Choose peace. Have a good day.

Thanks for watching, Doc. I'll need to show you Destino sometime. :)

❤ great choice 😮
You're a Dali fan too?! I've been a fan of him ever since seeing his artwork in Venice, Italy

Dali’s work is fascinating and that surrealism Disney short film is trippy perfection and I love it
Fun Fact: He was gonna play the Emperor Shaddam in Jodorowsky's Dune
wow really? I would have loved to have seen that!
I remember my high school art teacher often used to talk about this guy. Dali is great.

Salvador Dali's art is by far super amazing, hands DOWN!!!
Dali, Monet and Van Gogh are some of my favorites. All of them are great inspirations.
I was on a cruise last week and saw in the art gallery/ art auction area several Dali sketches.
Surprised you didn't mention his pet anteater.
Nice video😊
i was wondering when you were going to upload again
His work truly is unique. But I’m more of a Van Gogh type of guy. 🤘🏻🥰
It was so controversial someone threw a brick at it and put a very obvious hole through it
cool
I wish he wasn't such a horrible guy… I could appreciate the art a lot more. Still a good video though!
Oh for sure he was a narcisistic arsehole.
