    Reminds me of my favorite pond on the golf course I grew up on since I was 8 and I’m 48 now. About the same size and you can tell it’s not pressured at all. I think those first four or five bass you caught on the speed craw would have bit a bare hook. Same as the one I fish. I named it “Jurassic Pond”. I rarely catch a single bass under 3 lbs. I’ve caught 3, 8 lb plus giants in it in the past four years. I’m in Alabama and in the hottest part of the year it’s hard to catch them in the day but they go be bezerk, feeding around midnight until about 7 am.There isn’t One piece of cover in the whole pond. The bottom is exactly the same medium hardness everywhere in it other than in one corner where there is a patch of pea gravel about the size of 3 truck beds. That’s where all 3 of my biggest came from and they were all on the bed. The water is always HEAVILY STAINED to muddy so I didn’t see them but I think that patch is where the biggest females only spawn. I’m thinking they probably take the area by force. The most unbelievable thing about this place is it was dug and filled 25 years ago and stocked with bass and bluegill almost immediately and has never been stocked since. Even stranger is that there are no fish ever taken out of it. It’s extremely infertile and the bass can’t produce enough fry to eat all the forage in the pond so there are no stunted bass in the place. They are extremely healthy and since none are ever removed and they have plenty of forage they grow old and big. That’s not my opinion. My uncle is a fisheries biologist at Auburn University and I got him to come check it out and that’s why the pond is so unusual

    DUDE, who knew. I found 8 ponds close to my home on the Google Maps, 3 were privately owned, but the other 5 were KICKIN. 1 of them you just had to drop your line in and the bass were on it!! I see you on a lot of Golf course ponds. Do you have to get permission from the course to fish them?

    • @tietoppers
      @tietoppers 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Amorton94 I'd suggest two things to reduce this: Either use a smaller hook or use a pair of wire cutters and cut off the portion of the hook with the barb. Just watch out for flying metal when you cut the hook. That second one can be expensive over time...
