Took my brand new Battle II 5000 for a spin yesterday for the very first time and I hooked a 20lb yellowtail using a Ugly Stik X2 (medium hard) rod th-cam.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . This combo was recommended on some website and it did not disappoint me. The reel is smooth, the drag click is pretty cool cause i think it adds to the excitement of fighting the fish, personally the drag is my favorite part. I use braid and 300 yards will fill the entire spool. This combo is my main setup from now on although I have to disclose I am new to fishing.

Flair, I honestly think this is one of your better videos this year. I love when you can combine educating with fishing action. Just watching guys pull out bass after bass gets boring as hell, but allowing us inside your head and teaching us how to be a better anglers is huge. These are the videos I want to see you, especially the hidden bodies of water and not just sitting in the middle of a lake on a boat slaying bass.

this is gunna be a long question/suggestion but ..You should do a video we’re you sit down and show and explain different baits for different fish bass/bluer Gill /trout etc and also for different waters and conditions that would be very cool and helpful because I’m 17 and starting to get into fishing because of all you guys,peric you rob but I’m not very educated about baits or rods so I think that video/videos would be very helpful.
Watch all of flairs videos and you can learn a lot I am 12 and am a great fisherman because of him

Hey tip for everybody: If you are fishing a pond or lake with a fountain in it in the summer, throw your lure right in it and they will be sitting there because of the fresh oxygen!

If its pulling warm water from the lake thats 50 feet above it and looks like steam when it spills out into the colder air below it has everything to do with geography.

What’s perfect is when the caterpillars are all hatching in the summer. My grandparents and I forgot our bait box once and we just kept picking up caterpillars from the plants around the water. Not even exaggerating, it’s one of the best baits I’ve ever used. The gulp maggots is a close second.

Just another GREAT video Andrew. Yes I love the tips. Watching you use them gives me hope that the same techniques may help me catch more fish. I can pick things up just watching you also. I think t is a neat thing that you go looking for fish rather than fishing the same old places. About the only thing I would like to see different is in the last place you fished, yes you kept picking them off. I would like to see you try the Other rods you had to see IF they would hit different baits as well! Inquiring minds want to know! God Bless my Friend! ✝ 🎣
