That's a good way to put it-, johannesk1855----some of her renditions are simply beyond comparable, e.g., like this one. In some of her long, sustained notes, I think of Nina Simone at her finest, but that's just part of Eva's singing, just part of her gifts---she does so many wonderful things---there's nothing like it.

It's been 1 year since my wife passed. Autumn was her favorite time for us to take walk through the forest just holding hands. Eva's beautiful and emotional interpretation of the lyrics brings comforting memories. May your both rest in peace.
God bless her soul. May she rest in peace. May perpetual light shine upon her. May her good and gentle soul through the Mercy of God rest in peace in Jesus' Holy Name, Amen. God bless and give you peace and solace. Amen.
This is simply one of the best performances in the history of recorded music. Her incredible voice, the guitar, the piano, the pacing and incredible emotions put into it. Tears me up every time I watch this.
I am a musician. How I had never heard of Eva Cassidy, I don't know. What I can tell you though is that the first time I heard this song, I was mesmerized. I listened to it no less than 20 times in a row. It's perfect. Truly perfect. What's even more amazing is that it almost didn't get out because it was done live and the first night the recording never was recorded by mistake and the second night, Eva was sick and she was not happy with how it sounded... not happy with how it sounded? It's perfect. It haunts me. No one could ever do this song better. No one. What a tragedy to lose her so young.
I'm a musician also and did not hear of Eva until after she was gone, or I would have made an attempt to go hear her in person! Now, I have listened to everything that I can find that she sang; what a talent she was. She preferred to work small clubs though, not tour the world. A bit shy, a sensitive artist and lovely lady, it's so sad that we lost her too soon. RIP, Eva.
Thank you for sharing that Grant. I know what you mean. I had never heard of her either. Another thing people don't know either is she was a wonderful artist too. They made a website for her. There is a part that refers to this song, I've never heard before. I searched it, played it on my headphones. I left cause the store was closing. I kept listening to it on my way to nowhere, I didn't want to return home. It was raining and by the seventh time of listening to it, I started crying.
That is beautiful and I get it how you didn’t want to go home … you just wanted to stay in the moment and never end… it shows that you have a heart and a soul and you are a beautiful person.

Autumn Leaves is a jazz standard, covered by countless musicians and singers. So often it's done in an up-tempo swing style. Eva's rendition is soul-wrenching in its expression of love and loss. It immediately made me realize that no one has ever performed this the way it needed to be performed - this is what the song is really about, and it should always be done like this. And it should be mentioned that the piano interlude is brilliant in the shape of its line, its reworking of the melody, its building to successive high points - a perfect complement to Eva's impeccable voice and arrangement. Eva's versions are the first example I ever think of on how to cover a song and make it your own. Eva's cover was a different song than the original, a unique one
Have loved Eva for many years and Autumn Leaves always brings tears to my eyes. My mother’s favorite song and with it, the memories. May Evas memory always be for a blessing.
My autumn leaves are starting to fall age at 85. Eva has captured some of my emotions with great feeling. I said goodbye to my sweetheart 4 and a half years ago. "We ll meet again" Love Eva's voice!!!!!
Darrell, I hope the last leaf hasn't fallen yet. With every leaf that does falls, I hope they slowly descend with windswept wonder and gently find their place in a field of invisible renewal.
She's completely free of affectation, vocal acrobatics or diva bullshit. Voice like a pure sine wave. Straight up sophisticated, curated vocal phrasing and impeccable taste - and you can tell it came to her quite naturally. Everything I've heard from her is like a $10,000 bottle of wine. So glad she left her mark. She'll be listened to for a hundred years.
100% this. Too many seem to think they have to perform vocal gymnastics nowadays when the simplicity of this just blows me away. Absolutely spellbinding
She is very famous in Europe and singers still today take care as their idol. Many musicians began to sing because of her. Unfortunately, here in the US not that many know who she is. A truly American star.
Many professional musicians cite her as an example of real vocal talent. And as you say no diva status. It was an example of real music by a real musician. No autotune software here.
+Bart Drennon The thing that struck me the most about this video is the amazing focus she had...the presence. It is magical, it is beyond what most of us are capable of.
Remembering you Eva on this, the 26th anniversary of your passing. Through your extraordinary talent, you could never leave us! Thank you sweet angel Eva for sharing your gift with the world.
I am so grateful to the person that took the video of Eva Cassidy in the Blue Alley so many years ago and to whoever found that video and realized that Eva was truly a treasure to be shared with the world on You Tube - Thank you for whoever you are! It keeps my memories of my beautiful wife alive until I can join her with our God!
I wouldn't go as far as that, you probably lack the depth of knowledge in terms of music to make such claims, and I doubt you can name more than 1 excellent signer like her from other countries who regularly do concerts on this level or above. And there's 1000's of those around.
@@derbigpr500 WOW! - so aggressive. Who pissed in your cornflakes this morning? I never said she was the only great artist. FYI, I’m a musician and composer for over 30 years so bugger-off! 😆
Eva was a gift to us from God! The emotion, the voice, the sadness in her voice is a thing of absolute beauty! Singers like this come around once in a lifetime!
December 2023, and I am laying here recovering from surgery. This is the perfect person to listen to. So incredible and every note so all encompassing.
It's hard to listen to any other singer after listening to Eva Cassidy. She was simply incomparable. Hard to believe this is a live performance in a small club. This version of Autumn Leaves transcends perfection. What a cruel world we live in to have her taken from us so young.
Agreed. I’ve been a fan of hers now for many years. Time passes and then I rediscover her again and I realize all of her interpretations are the ones that have become the standard for me. She created so many little masterpieces with every song, each interpretation.
Love Eva Cassidy. Her voice is perfect. From the first time I heard her until now she is one of my favorite artists. This song speaks to me in so many ways.
I've heard Nat King Cole, Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald sing this song...beautifully. They sang it. This woman owned it. She took it apart, re-assembled it, infused it with her soul, her passions, her dreams and gave it to us. It was as if I had never heard it before. She not only gave something new to me, she drew something out of me. Her love for song aroused my love for listening. She danced with me...in a sense. I am touched. RIP Eva.
+Lynne Z Absolutely true. Eva could do this with every song. She made each song her own, by rearranging the melody to take it to a place nobody had thought of, and doing it in the most soulful and authentic way. She was an original, even when she was doing covers.
This is out-of-this-world beautiful. Every time I hear this performance, I am filled with a restless need to somehow convey my appreciation. The 'like'-button just does not cut it.
One of my favourite all time songs, but Eva simply owns it with this arrangement. That voice, so controlled and pitch perfect and the guitar, such a sumptuous tone. Perfect
This is as close as you can witness to perfection in a musical performance. Everything in every note and every pause is calibrated and yet played totally in the realm of feeling.
I am a professional cellist and this performance displays some of the most sophisticated musical phrasing I have ever witnessed. It is sublime and inspirational for other musicians, as well as the general public.
I was busy in kitchen one Sunday morning preparing lunch, when this voice came over with "Over the rainbow" l dropped what l was doing till she finished, cuz l wanted to get the name. It was the first time I heard of her. I've been hooked since.
Right on! I'm a professional whistler (yes even with symphonies) nd vocalist, and I only wish I could articulate phrase like Eva. I've listened to countless versions of AL and many are excellent, but hers stands out above the rest. It not just tasteful, but also super creative, and mournful beyond this world. I need to incorporate some of her into my version. Here's a very short version I did recently recorded : th-cam.com/video/MWjRUhiJjsw/w-d-xo.html That she can sing so well and play interesting guitar parts is a plus. She's gone, but not her spirit and an inspiration!
I'm a professional producer and have just been given a young girl with similar qualities, I've never listened to Eva before. The phrasing, tuning, tone, modulation and even mic technique are incredibly good. Pianist is superb too. Incredible dynamic range in her voice, wonderful!
Over-the-hill Nam vet here. Not much moves me these days. But, man, this song had a way of moving me to tears every time I heard it (when I first became aware of Eva a few years back). For me, the greatest female singer ever.
OMG. I've been a professonal musician all my life, and this song is one of my all-time favorites. I've heard everyone from Nat King Cole do it to Eva, and folks, this is without a doubt the greatest version ever recorded... period. But not only is she great vocally, but just listen to her chord changes on the guitar on this tune. This was a stupendous, world-class musician, from top to bottom. What a tremendous loss.
I honestly don't think that Eva ever realized her own musical genius. She had an absolutely insane gift for varying dynamics, going from a soft pianissimo to a soaring fortissimo in one or two measures.
@@mikeprevost8650 Totally agree, my friend. But she had a very strong will, which a lot of record companies frankly don't like, unfortunately. That is why the power of the internet killed them all.
My singing teacher run into her like that actually🥺 and he keeps telling me that I sound a lot like her, which is a compliment that I cannot accept because she’s out of my league
Her voice bypasses the ears and goes straight for your soul. Some people's artistry makes you grateful for having been fortunate enough to experience it. Eva is one such artist.
I so totally agree, what is sad is that she didn't reach fane while she was alive. We are truly blessed to listen to Eva , she was & is perfect in every way A gifted musician & singer....thank you Eva Cassidy for this blessed legacy🙏💞💕💛💞💞
There are times I just can't listen to her. The perfection of everything is so stunning and I know she is not doing it anymore. The total lack of pretension and the ability to make the words mean so much. Effortess loving of the emotion and the interpretation. Truly one of a wonderful kind.
Bart Foster a song of autumn when things die.......hopefully to be reborn in the spring....how autumn reminds us once again of darkening days and cold.....she does it as well as it has been done...........
Susan Baker, "... everyone who listened understood. Everything." Not me. Not everything. I do not understand why she is not still here singing. Same for Christina Grimmie. If it would bring either of them back, I would go in their place right now. Maybe the rest of us just did not deserve having them here? How on earth could their families deserve to be so tortured, though?
She was not of this world, she belonged to the unseen realm, where the angels live .. in His mercy He gave us Eva for 33 years ... to witness what heaven sounds like
What a lovely thing to say, and true -- all of it! Beautiful, talented, a lovely lady, gone way too soon -- (why?). Life is just not fair sometimes. But she certainly did one remarkable thing in her short life -- she left us wanting much more of her!
In 2002, I was in college and "Smallville" was one of my favorite shows. One night, I was watching Smallville and there was a funeral scene at the end of the episode. The most mesmerizing voice I'd ever heard started singing Cyndi Lauper's "Time after Time." I did some research and found out it was some lady named "Eva Cassidy." A few days later, I was in Walmart and happened to be looking through the CD section when I came across a very nondescript looking CD in a rather plain, brown case that was titled "Songbird" by Eva Cassidy. On a whim, I bought it and started playing it in the car on the way home. When this song came on, "Autumn Leaves" - I literally had to pull over and focus on the song, I was so mesmerized. It moved me to tears. I later bought every CD I could get my hands on, and I have loved Eva since then. Her music has blessed me since 2002, and I'm so overjoyed to still be listening to her in 2022.
Stephen, I just listened to "Autumn Leaves" a week or so ago right after posting one of my poems, "Fallen Leaves". I was moved to tears as well. I really didn't know why until I read she had died in 1996 at the age of 33. Sometimes we feel grief and sudden sadness for no reason and never find out why. This time I know why!
It is just stunning. I was driving myself to the airport maybe 20 years ago, and this came on the radio, and I nearly drove off the road - there are few things that can make me really emotional, but this does it every time, and I bet I've listened to this song 50 times.
Eva Cassidy's version of Autumn Leaves is the BEST I have ever heard. She had this uncanny way of bringing you into her with her voice. I will never forget the first time I heard her sing this song. It literally brought tears to my eyes.
Ever since I was a child, this kind of music would bring me to tears. And it still does. I am 74 now and still succumb now. It is my achilles heel. I learn to live with it.
Neil piper..Yes Neil, you are so right..I'm so glad to know now that I'm not the only one..In a month I will turn to the 76 mark...It's son humbly to still feel this way.
I'm sorry that today was the first day I've ever heard of her. What a mesmerizing, haunting rendition of this lovely, sad song. And what a beautiful, soulful voice she had. So sorry she passed away so soon!
Some musicians have the ability to move me emotionally. Very few have the ability to move me to tears. Only Eva Cassidy had the ability to literally caress my soul and move me to floods of tears with the beauty of her singing..
I am enamored and taken by this live performance. Eva Cassidy’s guitar playing and vocal quality are impeccable. Recorded 1/3/96, I was five years old and now discovered it in 2023 at 32 years old. Thank you for sharing!
I've been a professional jazz musician for decades and Eva is probably one of the most outstanding singers I've ever heard....Eva is right up there with the all time greats....Eva ...rest in peace....and may god bless you.
A random live take of a woman with a guitar in a bar, singing into a microphone. And it blows away 99.99% of all music ever recorded. The control and artistry on display can't really be described in words. Mesmerizing.
Eva’s perfect voice. My second favorite voice ever. She could scream into a towel and it would be better than today’s stuff!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ love you EVA!!!!!!!!!
My obsession with Eva Cassidy continues. She transforms Autumn Leaves into a sad love song evoking deep pensive thoughts, a melancholy mood, thinking of love lost in the autumn of life. Ironically, Eva Cassidy died at 33 shortly after this video. This song has been recorded by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Roger Williams, Bing Crosby, and many others. It is hard to imagine that it could be improved, but Eva Cassidy totally transforms it, and captures your heart at the deepest level. Wow!
33. I have been listening to this version for many years and often thought she went far too young, but now I am the same age. It hits home. She went far far too soon; what an angel she is.
Chanson devenue mondiale , oui magnifique interprétation ici. French song from 1945 by Jacques Prévert and Joseph Kosma for the music. "the dead leaves" sung by Yves Montand and quickly covered in the USA Nat King Cole (1955) etc. English lyrics by Johnny Mercer. Bings Crosby (1950) and Steve Conway 1950 as well. Song that has become global, yes magnificent interpretation here.
Wow! I had no idea she passed away. She was the same age as my son, that passed away. It hurts to see such beauty plucked away, like a Rose, in the prime of living. Must be a reason the Lord brought me to this, and to crying so many tears. Thank you & Bless you DonDodge for sharing.😪
This song has been sung by so many of the world's greatest singers, but this one is truly the most beautiful and moving rendition I've ever heard. Thank you, Eva, and God rest your soul.
I am familiar with this song, as my parents loved it so, but this is the first time hearing of this mesmerizing artist and her rendition. I am 62 soon and yet, hearing this, I am punched hard by the memory of my dad unable to come to terms with the unexpected death of my mom. He grieved daily for 9 years until he, himself passed. Her phrasing, her breathing and the way she breaks the sentences reminds me of Judy Garland. Singing, not for the melody but the emotion and memory. Perfection.
Having spent many years as a radio host on music stations in San Francisco and L.A. I was fortunate to play and listen to the great popular vocalists of the day. Had I known of Eva Cassidy’s work back then she would have been a regular Top Five rotation artist on my shift. The way she climbs into a song with that heavenly voice is simply arresting. She may be gone but her incredible talent lives on and we are the better for it.
I always come back to this one. One of the very best torch performances of all time, without a single doubt. The new record, with the London Symphony Orchestra, is also wonderful.
Her voice is so distinctive, 20 years ago I was in Ireland and passed a shop playing her music - so pleasantly surprised that she was loved everywhere.
As much as I enjoy the original jazz standard version of autumn leaves...this song, when sung by eva cassidy, connects with me on a different level- an entirely different level. So beautiful...and with a solo to match!
+Beth S Hey ! Maybe that's not what you meant and I misunderstood but the original music isn't a jazz tune - it's been covered into jazz later. Originally, it's a french song "Les Feuilles Mortes". And, yes, both jazz rendition of Cannonball Adderley and Eva Cassidy's singing are pure gold :)
+Beth S First full recording of it was by singer Cora Vaucaire. Later Yves Montand, who only sang parts of it in the movie the song was written for, also recorded full version. You can find lot of covers atfer that - including Edith Piaf who sang it both in french and english,
Eva Cassidy is affecting me; Her vocals, her style, her original edge, and approach to just bang out a beautiful rendition of a song. I was so saddened to read that she is gone. This also affected me. So happy her album lives on and will be released soon. I look forward to it's release. My condolences to her family and so happy they continue to support her music. The world needs to remember her amazing talent. I am officially struck by Ms. Eva Cassidy...the way she delivers Autumn Leaves is just haunting and amazing.
Eva...was truly a voice like no other. I am...continuously and absolutely mesmerized by her foundational, and virtually unmatched musical talents. Primarily as a vocalist, but also by her talents as an instrumentalist on the guitar. Her ability to interpret a song linguistically, as well as when she was caressing the strings of her guitar, have left an indelible, and unmatched impression on me. My life has been forever changed by herformidable talent!!!!!
She never seems out of her comfort zone, hauntingly beautiful and So effortless. I play Songbird at least once a week for 20 years. Sorely missed, she was absolutely exceptional.
Eva is the first person I'm gonna look up in heaven just to thank her for this performance.
you & me both...
Count me in.

Same. I’m gutted. Just found her.
She declined the contract, refusing the manipulation of her style and and choice of
repertoire.
Eva Cassidy will be listened to and marveled over for centuries to come...

Rae Lou You are not the only one who had tears in her eyes. This is magnificent.
Rae Lou everytime..
Rae Lou sweet pain
Rae Lou Your not alone, waterworks when I listen to this magnificent rendition.
+Bart Drennon The thing that struck me the most about this video is the amazing focus she had...the presence. It is magical, it is beyond what most of us are capable of.
The greatest rendition of all time ✨🧡 Rest in paradise, beautiful Eva Cassidy. Thank you for your magic !
Remembering you Eva on this, the 26th anniversary of your passing. Through your extraordinary talent, you could never leave us! Thank you sweet angel Eva for sharing your gift with the world.
❤️
Hermosa e inigualable interpretación…Gracias a Dios por tu música ❤ y tu voz
Lovely Eva. May God shower His blessings upon you 🙏😇❤️
I am so grateful to the person that took the video of Eva Cassidy in the Blue Alley so many years ago and to whoever found that video and realized that Eva was truly a treasure to be shared with the world on You Tube - Thank you for whoever you are! It keeps my memories of my beautiful wife alive until I can join her with our God!
Imagine if this had never been captured? 🤦♂️
We would never have this …..
This may be the most beautiful performance I’ve ever heard. Ever. 😊
It really is
Yup me too
Sublime. Absolute perfection. She's singing live and playing guitar..... She's perfect. Listening to her is truly a transformative experience.
God she’s good. Maybe the best live performance ever caught on tape. No auto tuning, just pure gold. ❤️
I would not disagree
yep
I wouldn't go as far as that, you probably lack the depth of knowledge in terms of music to make such claims, and I doubt you can name more than 1 excellent signer like her from other countries who regularly do concerts on this level or above. And there's 1000's of those around.
@@derbigpr500 WOW! - so aggressive. Who pissed in your cornflakes this morning? I never said she was the only great artist. FYI, I’m a musician and composer for over 30 years so bugger-off! 😆
@@derbigpr500 Such an odd comment
Eva was a gift to us from God! The emotion, the voice, the sadness in her voice is a thing of absolute beauty! Singers like this come around once in a lifetime!
If nobody else in the comments has said it, thank you to Bryan McCulley for recording this precious footage.
Copy that...
Didnt he make a CD of this as well...

The poor girl is so sick here, yet she sings. It brings tears to my eyes.

December 2023, and I am laying here recovering from surgery. This is the perfect person to listen to. So incredible and every note so all encompassing.
Be well! Wishing you a speedy recovery. ❤
Or...what a beautiful world in which such a talent visits!
She carried so much emotion in that young voice.
Agreed.
It is far more cruel to live longer, fool.
The heartbreak..the pain...the loss. Brilliant. Rest In Peace Eva.
+Teresa Smith You said it all Teresa.
Hello Terri how are you doing today...
RIP Eva.
+* STAR * I cry every time...and, I'm a dude.
+kweju3 Eva was the master at interpretation and arranging. So beautiful.
+Lynne Z Absolutely true. Eva could do this with every song. She made each song her own, by rearranging the melody to take it to a place nobody had thought of, and doing it in the most soulful and authentic way. She was an original, even when she was doing covers.
+Thora F Absolutely right.
+kweju3 Yes. I felt this, too.
This is out-of-this-world beautiful. Every time I hear this performance, I am filled with a restless need to somehow convey my appreciation. The 'like'-button just does not cut it.
My sentiments exactly. I cannot find the words. Sublime will do for now.

I'm just about speechless. There is just an overwhelming peace in Eva Cassidy's voice that can memorize and amaze you.
One of the most beautiful performances I've EVERY heard... and it tears my heart out every time.
All it took for that perfect song was:
A guitar
A piano
and an angel.
Agree !!!
Angel for sure ❤️
So so sad
very true!
...and a player for the piano.
My grandmother sang this to all the grandkids, putting us to bed. She passed 2 years ago, and I'm ugly crying, listening to this. Thank You. ❤
My younger sister loved listening to her and she passed away 2 years ago. Such a beautiful voice but makes me sad as well 😢
My mom used to play this on the piano, I am 72 and still tear up when I hear this song
❤❤❤❤
Her music grabs your heart and never lets go. Sublime
One of my favourite all time songs, but Eva simply owns it with this arrangement. That voice, so controlled and pitch perfect and the guitar, such a sumptuous tone. Perfect
I cannot believe this is live! This is not from here...Heavenly music... So pure...
Yes, her vocal control is amazing. Not many singers can pull it off. Dusty Springfield and Anne Murray could.
She was a friend. This is how I remember her....
Lara Fabian can

+fasihbk I'd have to agree with you, same for me
I agree also, I have found my inner self and now life makes so much more sense. People around me benefit from my understanding of life, love and song.
Beautiful, excellent cover version. It's perfect. This music will always touch my soul. ♥♥
She is one of my most favorite female singers of all time. So sensible.
Beautifully stated
Here's a very short version I did recently recorded : th-cam.com/video/MWjRUhiJjsw/w-d-xo.html
That she can sing so well and play interesting guitar parts is a plus. She's gone, but not her spirit and an inspiration!
One of the best, if not THE best versions. I'll die on this hill.@@johnscanlen1860
I'm a professional producer and have just been given a young girl with similar qualities, I've never listened to Eva before. The phrasing, tuning, tone, modulation and even mic technique are incredibly good. Pianist is superb too. Incredible dynamic range in her voice, wonderful!
This song was the reason why I felt in love with her voice. Be in peace Eva.
Over-the-hill Nam vet here. Not much moves me these days. But, man, this song had a way of moving me to tears every time I heard it (when I first became aware of Eva a few years back). For me, the greatest female singer ever.
Bless your heart❤
Beautifully said.
@@no-oneman.4140
My only regret is that so many people never got to experience her incredible talent. Thank God for her recordings...
I honestly don't think that Eva ever realized her own musical genius. She had an absolutely insane gift for varying dynamics, going from a soft pianissimo to a soaring fortissimo in one or two measures.
@@mikeprevost8650
Totally agree, my friend. But she had a very strong will, which a lot of record companies frankly don't like, unfortunately. That is why the power of the internet killed them all.
Grew up listening to the version by Jo Stafford. I like this one a little more.
I'm a grown ass man and every I listen to the angel singing, my eyes turn fluid. My goodness. She messes me up emotionally. Forever an inspiration
I can't listen to her much because I too will dissolve into a weepy mess. You're not alone.

She is my favorite singer. I cannot imagine walking into a coffee house and finding this jewel! Gone way too soon😢

Her voice bypasses the ears and goes straight for your soul. Some people's artistry makes you grateful for having been fortunate enough to experience it. Eva is one such artist.
I absolutely agree with you.
I so totally agree, what is sad is that she didn't reach fane while she was alive. We are truly blessed to listen to Eva , she was & is perfect in every way
A gifted musician & singer....thank you Eva Cassidy for this blessed legacy🙏💞💕💛💞💞
I don't just listen to this song. Chills run up my spine and throughout my body and tears well up. It is that moving of a performance.
Her music has haunted me since first hearing it! I did not realize this beautiful soul had past when hearing it. Such an amazing artist and lady.
There are times I just can't listen to her. The perfection of everything is so stunning and I know she is not doing it anymore. The total lack of pretension and the ability to make the words mean so much. Effortess loving of the emotion and the interpretation. Truly one of a wonderful kind.
I totally agree
Yes.

the utter sadness that pervades because such mesmeric beauty no longer graces our existence.
Tomorrow, I am one week into my chemo. I listen to this song nearly every night. It haunts me, it is perfection.

What a beautiful thing to say … and so true XX
Words fail me , except my tears flow through her voice , such a talent and gone to young
Eva Cassidy's version of Autumn Leaves is the BEST I have ever heard. She had this uncanny way of bringing you into her with her voice. I will never forget the first time I heard her sing this song. It literally brought tears to my eyes.
Relax, close your eyes & let her angelic voice...carry you into PURE BLISS ~

Ever since I was a child, this kind of music would bring me to tears.
And it still does. I am 74 now and still succumb now.
It is my achilles heel.

Nothing wrong with that. A hard live with a sensitive soul, but you would miss it if you wouldn't be the way you are.

The only thing that could possibly improve it is if she were singing Smelly Cat. But we can only ever approach perfection, but never arrive.

This is the best version. Beautiful voice gone way too soon R.I.P
Wow!

the most beautiful thing i've ever heard in my life....
Perfection.
Kim, your story is my current story. Exactly. It's been 9 mos here and I'm sorry you went through this, too. Thank you for sharing.

Singers like Eva Cassidy and Judy Garland only come around about once a generation.

You just spent 4 minutes and 42 seconds in heaven.
Quentin B my mistake- had no idea about that!! thanks! (hmmm sounds like something I need to check out....)
Eva...was truly a voice like no other. I am...continuously and absolutely mesmerized by her foundational, and virtually unmatched musical talents.
