Thanks for the video! These tips, along with the ones on impact position made a huge difference in one bucket of balls. I’ve always cast the club and this is the first time I’ve experienced compression and a proper ball flight.

I've watched many shallowing videos; this one is top of the mark! Your right elbow club drill is great. Thank you very much! I've made great progress from your instruction.

Yeah this is smart - Offer Options. One of the Most Elusive things - Shallowing club... I've used the hand to do it as you demonstrated, but thats first time i ever heard about forearm.
What doesn't work (for me) is having a YT Video telling you to drop the arm, let the shoulder relax -- Maybe eventually I can have that pause, but right now I need a mechanical way to Manually create it - rev the motorcycle can work, but it's a timing thing and hard to hold if a guy is trying to also get full width / Arc...

I like the way you simplify things that are simply 'mentioned' on other golf channels. Keep up the good work!

Cool stuff, JC. The one I've been working on is the feeling of the head of the club staying on a wall and moving down a wall behind you. Been popping the right shoulder out for years and somehow could break 80 with God knows how many manipulations but it's catching up to me now. When you video yourself you go into shock when you see the manipulations.
Just found your channel. I'm IN.

Thanks Tom! Absolutely, good golf can be played with a timing oriented swing, but it will be very hit or miss. Good look with your swing!

Can you roll the forearms without bringing right elbow in? Seems like both would have to happen, but I definitely like the swing thought of pulling right elbow in.

    Jonathan, Great video again
Can you please explain something? I noticed on another video you said we need to keep the club more closed on the backswing (keep the left arm supinated) in order for the club to not fan too open (to keep the club more square coming down). I have seen a lot of guys suggesting this but like yourself I see everyone suggesting pronation of the left arm on the downswing.
I understand this is to shallow the club but whats the difference between the opening happening in the backswing vs downswing?
    Regards

Glad you liked it bud! Absolutely, pronating the lead forearm early in the backswing will cause the shaft to whip on the inside and open the face, so if you shallow the club in the downswing with pronating in the backswing, the club face will get far too open and the club will most likely get overly shallow. A more passive club face through better forearm movement in the takeaway, allows the the option for shallowing the shaft in transition as the club face won’t get too open. Ultimately the club face and shaft angle at the top of the backswing need to be in a good spot for shallowing to functionally help 👍🏼

Can u talk about head rotation in downswing as seen in pros like Niemann does?

Can I just ask, did you shallow the golf club naturally when you learnt to play golf or was it a problem with your swing which you had to correct? When I watch folk at the driving range (all levels) the vast majority tend to not have overly over the top swings (like mine) . I had a golf lesson about 10 years ago and the pro said I'm not getting onto my left side enough in the downswing and I'm just wandering if to try and correct that I started spinning my upper body in the downswing and thus results in the club shaft steepening? Maybe before that lesson my 'over the top' was probably not as bad, Anyway that's history, hopefully I can correct this flaw with some hard work on the range. cheers bud!
