- Have you ever added all your little and big expenses for racing? That's what we did this year, we kept every single receipt and added everything up in a spreadsheet. Here are the details of what it did cost us to run our 2 cars in the 2023 Ontario Performance Rally Championship this year. And yes, we did win which brought the cost down... somewhat 😂
Your mileage will of course vary depending on the size of the team and what items are due for service/upgrade that year but even if you keep car costs to a minimum there are a lot of other costs that go with racing that boost the bill at the end of the season!

Such a great breakdown, thanks. Do sponsors cover the majority of the remaining costs?
We got $250 from our sponsors for the year that's it. Our wallet is what covers all the costs. Most sponsors give us free parts or service but it is very difficult to get cash donations. It is a full time job if you want to get sponsorship deals but the ROI for the investors is not really good unless you are a big brand name or celebrity. Most competitors in the US sponsor themselves through their own business writing it off as a marketing expense. Or you need a rich relative to pay for it :D
