Installed my new 250gb SSD today! Thank you so much for this video! The only thing I wish I would of known was the three screws under the CD drive would need a PH000 screw, but once I purchased that, I was good to go!

You mean to tell me that I can improve the performance of my laptop for less than $100 than dropping $1,000+ on a whole new computer?! I need this upgrade now! I had the same laptop for 4 years, barely any memory used up, but now my computer occasionally crashes, very slow on certain applications and the battery is barley lasting 2 hours!

Great video! Had this old laptop laying in the closet for years. Decided to play around with it the other night so upgraded the ram and hd to a ssd. your video made the former job go as smooth as silk. Sadly I didn't notice a major improvement in the compiters speed. I guess the cpu is just to underpowered in this day and age.
    Thanks for the video though!

@@Ghost57 Well, back with an update: I can 120% confirm I have a 15-f272wm, I've double-checked it I don't even know how many times, but for me, I had to remove the three screws in the disc-drive before being able to rip them out, whereas you were able to rip the disc drive out before removing said screws. This is really odd, but what's also odd is that at 2:04, we only have three of the screws there.
We're now at a point where we're supposed to use the little rubber/plastic tool to open it up via sliding it on the front and sides, but we're unable to make much progress.
Honestly I'm just at a loss. The bottom of the laptop says it's a 15-f272wm but we've been having difficulties where you haven't. Any idea?

I'm new to DIY computer repair. I've seen a lot of information on making sure to ground PC's and laptops before working on them, people often use an anti-static wrist band to do this. In your video you do not mention anything about making sure the laptop was grounded before working on it (that I can remember). Do I need to worry about trying to ground mine or not? I have the Walmart version of this laptop. Thank you!!!

Thank you for this tutorial. However based on the issues others have had I probably won't attempt this. Gotta say I will NEVER purchase another HP product. My HP 15-F272wm HDD starting failing within 6 mths. I didn't really think it was the hard drive. I thought it was just a cheap processor. I barely used it and just kept it for picture storage. Now it has completely failed and I've lost everything. I wish I suspected the HDD earlier but I'm definitely a novice with stuff like this. I used to think HP products were quality but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Every HP printer at my work is constantly going down. Im shocked that something so cheap and inferior was put out in the consumer market. Then again I was dumb enough to buy this at Wal-Mart. Definitely a lesson learned the hard way.

Also, I need to move my entire drive info over to the new drive. Will Win 10 let me do this, or will I have to reactivate it, or what will I need to do ? What's the easiest way to do this ?
