Hello guys, welcome to another episode of Fix Your Finance. In today’s episode, we meet 40-year-old Kaustuban who retired early and achieved FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) at the age of 35.
Kaustuban began his journey working in a call center. However, after working for 4 years in the corporate sector, he decided to pursue his master's degree and started working in a Fractional Real Estate start-up.
In this video, we discuss his income at the various stages of his career, how he managed to save 80-85% of his salary, his investments, how he saved and invested to retire early, and how he began an entrepreneurial journey after retirement.
We also discuss some tips and strategies to keep in mind while planning to achieve FIRE.
    and much more!
    Enjoy :)

His mindset was his real investment.
I can see the difference of mindset right here in my house. I am a kind of middle class mindset and my elder brother rejected the idea of middle class . He struggled for about 8 years and now his business turnover is more than 2.8 crs with 70% profit.

While his approach and attitude are commendable, its rare to see such exponential growth in salary whether in a startup or own business. He definitely lucked out with that. He did work hard and even when his salary was 1.8cr he kept his expenses low in comparison and that helped. Good on him. Leading a great life.
I too used to work in a call centre back in 2004 but of course bug of being a software engineer hit me hardnlike it did to an entire generation at the time. If someone had told me the potential of earning in a sales field was more, inwouldve dropped my IT job long time ago. But no worries. I got to travel to kultiple countries on work and now lead a very comfortable life. Not very rich but comfortable and my needs are very minimal.

I worked in 3 early stage startups in my career. I couldn't find a job, so I was forced to take such a job for the first job. I realised what he realised during the first job and continued trying my luck in early stage startups. It was my early stage career, so I thought I can take some risks. It was an extreme stage of stress, confusion, excitement and exponential learning. It was a mixed bag to be exact. The expectation was that one of them might click and unfortunately, that didn't happen and responsibilities kind of guided me to choose a stable company. I might try my luck again sometime or am I too old for it? I don't know.

You are on the right track.
      Think in terms of multiples.
You are now at 4X in 3 years. That is 33% annual growth.
If you've done this, you're doing something right.
If you maintain this growth trajectory, in 2027, you will be at 15 LPA, this is where it picks up speed.
In 2030, you will be at 60 LPA.
What do you need to do to achieve this??
      1. Invest in yourself - Upskilling
      2. Learn, Unlearn, Re-learn
      3. Network
      4. Provide Value.
      You'll get there.
2033 should see you at 1.2 Cr to 2.4 Cr.
      Stay Positive & remain focussed.
Enjoy yourself while doing all this, else there no point.

The beautiful classic wooden sofa these bummers are sitting on are probably made by a hard working and experienced carpenter aged 60. World is made by people who are hard working and the visionaries, people who think what all can I achieve with rest of the time I have and not keep counting when can I retire.
But obviously you need to love whatever you do, and if it is your taste to eat with all the savings you made by 30 or 40 for the rest of your life, then good for you!

Mate welcome to Bangalore. in 2010 you would have been able to afford a 3bhk gated community in Marthahalli orSarjapur for 75-80 lakhs and the current rent there is around 60 -70k. Feel free to google. I don't think an apartment you buy today in 2024 is gonna give u 10% right away at start if that's how u r thinking

It could be his yield on cost as he might have bought the property way cheaper than what it is now. Yield might be around 4-5% but yield on cost might be higher.

Mate I am kannadiga and from bangalore. Property bought in 2010 and rent you are saying is 2024. Watch carefully in video he is saying immediately after buying he started getting 10% yield. That means person or builder who sold property at such a low rate is fool?? Common mate.
