      The market is not necessarily a rollercoaster if you know your way around the market, there are various opportunities in the present market to accrue good profit, If you are not too savvy with the market, just buy and hold on strong companies with good earnings, or consult with advisors on ETFs and actively managed funds. that’s what works for my spouse and I. We've made over 30% capital growth minus dividends.

    Invest in the financial markets before retiring by diversifying across assets, allocating a small portion of your portfolio, staying updated on market trends, and considering long-term holding to balance risk and growth.

    This episode was a beautiful one! Mr.Bhumesh has a very good balance - not just financially, but also has achieved good personal life balance, staying in India, not giving a shit on what family/cousins is doing, has a better-half who is in-line with him on financial front.
    "Prefer living like a king in our country, than living like a slave in some other country" - This resonated a lot with my thought process.

    I find Bhomesh an extremely sensible person who understands life in different perspectives, not just financially. Plan your family early is one of the greatest advice he gave for the couples in their 30s. Once you hit a number where you're comfortably saving, upskilling yourself and giving time to your family are immensly crucial for a good retirement.

  • @Saiseshukumar
    @Saiseshukumar 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    Very valid points, No-Nonsense and to the point. Few takeaways
    1. FIRE is a family, NOT individuals target of achievement.
    2. Don't go behind liabilities and invest early in life
    3. Start family early, your body is not the same over the years.
    4. Keep life simple with no cravings for metarialistic accumulation.
    And finally the money you invest on your health with all the stress would be much higher if you run behind it ignoring the above points❤

    He had a very good salary and his expenses were very low (maybe 20-30% of his salary). So the point is first increase your salary to that point that your expenses will be like 10% of your salary. But the problem is that, with a low salary (like most of us) you can't lower your expenses below a certain level, so FIRE will be a fantasy.

    4LPA in 2006 is a hugeee amount of money and almost 7x higher than average entry level salary in 2006. 4LPA is the average entry level salary in 2024, imagine that amount in 2006. And he said 10 lakhs in 2009. these are salaries of basically the top tier jobs, this glorifying of already rich people without giving the facts plainly is dangerous, leads to false motivation. So point of wealth building is useless in this video because with that high amount of salary from 2006 and saving 60% of salary, even LIC policies give you same returns in the same ballpark of 10cr or more , but really respect the man for equally spending time with family etc.

    • @DonBhupi
      @DonBhupi 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I started my first job in 2008 and was paid 3.6 LPA in Delhi NCR region. We were a group of 150 engineer trainees that were recruited from very average private engineering colleges. Most of my college mates who got recruited in other companies also got similar packages, so I can confirm that this was indeed entry-level income. The graduates from good NITs or IITs were making at least 9-10LPA in their first jobs.
      If the entry level income today is 4 LPA, I'm not sure I understand why it has failed to evolve with time. But it's a major concern. By the way, which region and domain are you talking about when you quote this as the salary in 2024?

    Our peak era has passed, with 401(k)s struggling during the recession. My $750K retirement portfolio is shrinking due to inflation, and I fear our leaders are repeating the mistakes of the past. If rising costs worry you about your retirement, I empathize. The American elections are bringing uncertainty with chaotic foreign policies, regulations, and energy strategies.

      Diversification is key in situations like this. Consulting with a finance professional and diversifying into high-performing options can yield significant dividends and balance volatility. My $330k portfolio grew by 85% in 3 years using this strategy.

      My two cents on the topic after years of reading:
      While it's good to learn about them, they will be few & pretty difficult to replicate. Benjamin Graham had to regularly update his formulas since the markets are so dynamic.
      For almost everyone else, it's the usual journey of career growth, savings & investments. Abroad postings & stock options can be the boosters for some folks.

    This is very insightful. But during this period, considering all economic parameters, do you think it's best for us who are not institutional investors to focus on index funds or individual stocks? I want to redistribute my 60k portfolio and I preferably want the asset class with the best return on investment.

    • @NormanGhali
      @NormanGhali 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I would say index funds are a safer bet to start. They offer good diversification. But individual stocks could make you a fortune if you know how to go about it. Some people make upper six figures yearly from investing alone. But it's always a good idea to work with a financial advisor. It raises your chance of profit by a lot.

    Wonderful video! It's very true that having support from a partner can be incredibly beneficial. The most important takeaway is that investing in yourself can lead to a significant increase in income i.e. up to tenfold. Additionally, I believe that keeping expenses under control is also a form of indirect investment. After all, money saved is money earned!
