    Mattress pads is a genius idea! The foam cusion s at the fabric store literally costs murder for hire! I'll be attempting to make 22x22 lawn chair cushions!

    Definitely thicker for the bottom is better. I followed the instructions and let it set up over night. The glue worked well

    Like the general idea. I would order high density foam off of Amazon and instead of one long seat cushion, make 3 smaller ones, definitely need at least 5 inches of foam thickness, maybe put a mattress topper on top of that. Use mattress or waterproof pillow protectors over the foam. I might try using Velcro to hold the fabric in place both for the pillows and foam. Wrap the arms with some cord to add bulk and softness. Good idea on the fabric choice to save money. Could add extra throw pillows in different colors.

    I was wondering how they held up ? I'm about to take on a similar project. Specifically I wondered about the foam . I keep hearing that the foam needs to be high density so it doesn't mold or disintegrate. An update would be great. Looks fantastic. Great tutorial ! Thanks so much :)

    Love the idea of using drop cloth! How well have these held up? Any issues with moisture ruining the foam and pillows? With the canvas being solid color, do stains and dirt show easily? Any help is appreciated! I'm about to build an outdoor couch and want to be economical with the cushions.

    • @jessicalynnathome
      @jessicalynnathome  4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Thanks! So a couple suggestions if I were to redo this again I would use a mattress cover to cover the foam cushion seat to help protect it from moisture. Also instead using the seam tape to hold the drop cloth together I would use safety pins so I could take it off and wash it when it gets dirty. For the pillows I would suggest sewing a zipper on one end to take those off and wash them too. With these being outside they will definitely get dirty and I wish I would of thought of that before so I could figure out a way to wash them. I hope this helps! Good luck and have fun! 💕☺️💕

    A really good video. But I'm wondering if the E6000 will work on the bottom sofa cushion. I think you could glue it and put it on the bottom for the extra pressure and it wouldn't come apart. Any thoughts?

    Exactly what I plan on doing with my storage bench! People always come over and sit on it and it's not comfy for them lol. I hadn't heard of the E6000 fabric glue, do you recommend it over the tape? Looks fantastic!!

    • @jessicalynnathome
      @jessicalynnathome  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Angela's Hangout well the glue works pretty well to make a pillow case but you have to let it dry for a while. I think the tape works good too it’s kind of a toss up for me lol I have had these cushions outside for a week now with kids and adults sitting on them and I haven’t popped a seem yet where the glue or tape are so I think they are working or great!

    • @AngelasHangout
      @AngelasHangout 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @jessicalynnathome
      @jessicalynnathome  5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Mine held up really well meaning they stayed together with the no sew method. The canvas got really dirty towards the end of the season though and there was no way to wash them. So if you want them to last longer and you know how to sew I would definitely do that and make a removable cover so they can be washed. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching! Have a great day! 💕💕💕
