Never heard of him until today. I just read an ESPN article on him and that brought me to a Twitter video of him and this young lady Amy playing golf together. And after that I became a fan. Congrats mate.

He's been knocking at the door of great golf for a long time with the long ball, now he's better at the short game and look what happens, we should all learn from him

As a fan this was one of my favorite US Opens. A real nice player wins, the course was not set up in which luck was the determining factor and no controversy.

What a putt to break Tiger's record at this tough course. Good on Justin, Jordan, Kuch, Koepka and the guy with the French sounding name to stick around and congratulate him. You could tell he was fighting back tears for a moment there

Frankie Gregory thank you. Interesting and sound uncharacteristic of golf. I marshaled tpc from 1990 -2010 and follow a lot of golf. I guess I missed that one.
Just curious. What about disrupting the rhythm of the opponent with whom one is paired? Remember when sabbatini was paired with Ben Crane at congressional. 😉

I'm soooo happy Gary got this done. I know this is unfair, but to me it was good versus evil in this match. I couldn't take Brooks winning another event. Sure he's a great player, but what he has no conception about is this. Golf is MORE than, can you strike a ball well or not. It's about character and who you are as a person and that's about your history and how you treat people and care for others and what you give back. That's why our game is different than the other sports and millions of us are proud of that. Look at Jack and Jordan Spief and so many others that are the best human beings this game can produce and they came from those that came before them. I saw Gary Woodland with that beautiful little girl at the Phoenix open on the par three and he exemplifies everything in a man we all should strive to be like. Dustin and Brooks and Tiger think respect is for free if they win enough and really....it's the great things you can do for others with those wins that makes you great and not JUST how low you can go. May God bless Mr. Woodland, and what a great man he turns out to be. We need more players like him.

So glad to see a new generation of MAGA style American golfers. To paraphrase Gary “I came out here to win today”. Vs the 90’s, 00’s majority of American pro golfers (exclude Tiger) who played NOT TO LOSE and then constantly LOST to everyone, especially the Europeans !!
Play to win. The Winners are the only people anyone remembers !!

Wow - are you kidding me? There were a ton of highlight moments from impossible lies throughout the tournament. Woodland stared down several players of "major champion status" and came out on top. Give him his due.

I watch lots of golf, and this last round ranks up to one of the worst I’ve seen. Perfect conditions, bad golf overall. Just one of those days where I thought: ‘Why on earth am I watching this?’.
