I can tell you one thing, 99% of us would've been so nervous hitting that bunker shot we would've bladed it into the stands... Making the putt though, 99.999%!!! My cousin plays golf, and other sports, in the Special Olympics and it's an absolutely incredible organization. It's given him so much and so many opportunities it's a blessing. Just did a polar Bear plunge with a few thousand people this past weekend to support Special Olympics and I really believe it's a worthwhile cause to support. Well done Amy, you're an inspiration to everyone! Love the high finish, reminds me of a young Arnold Palmer!
I've watch the video at the Phoenix Open many times. There is no video that makes me smile laugh and cry all at the same time. Life is beautiful when you have beautiful people in it. Not only did she make par she also got a sandy too.
Now that is what it’s all about! Two genuine people connecting no matter what the differences are and bringing so much good to the world!!!! Gary and Amy should forever hold their heads high with pride! ❤️❤️
Is it only me that picked up on the Arnold Palmer style finish at the top of her follow through? Amazing video.. Gary is the fine definition of a genuinely good person... bless you 🙏
What an amazing success story. The "We Got This" movement all spawned from a very special relationship between two great people, is truly inspirational!
I was reading chapter 4 of Lt Colonel Dan Rooney's book "Fly Into The Wind" when I first heard about Gary and Amy, I will never forget about the term "Volition" I feel so motivated watching Amy reaching her dreams, I was blessed with a daughter that was born with Down Syndrome my Sofía is all love and she really likes to sing and paint. I wish the best to Amy and her family.
I grew up with an aunt that had Down's Syndrome. She was always hugging and laughing. She was such a positive person. This video reminded me of her. Can't watch without tears coming down. She passed 12 years ago at the age of 52. Miss her so much.
I cannot count how many times I've said those three words since I first saw Amy on TV. Gary has long been one of my favorites but on that day Amy also made that list!!! "They love me" yes Amy we darn sure do!!
Thanks for sharing this video, on so many levels this is a truly incredible story of Amy's ability (and not her disability)! Amy, "We've got this" and thank you for teaching us to focus on the possible!
Great story!! I remember watching the video last year!! I think most people would be nervous as all be on the 16th!! I hope she keeps on playing golf and makes a career out of it!!
Great seeing her holding the best prize in golf. And yes I'm British....but the US Open IS the best prize in golf! As for Gary Woodland....there are no words.
Wow, this Amy video has stayed with me from day one. You are one beautiful special beautiful 🌹girl to me. Yes, you got this 💯🫂🖤 !Amy ⛳️ and anything that you put your mind to ❤
Gary Woodland, the college coach and Amy are shining lights of our society. We idolise dumb politicians, egotistical sports stars and musicians but these 3 humans show what life is all about. People help the people.
"I got this" is what Dustin Johnson told caddie Bobby Brown on the second hole at Pebble Beach (2010 US Open) when he was in the greenside rough playing the shot southpaw style. Hack, flub, chip, then missed his putt and ended up with a 7 and lost half of his six-stroke lead. Went on to double the third, then bogey the fourth and his lead was gone.
It seems when you see kids with special needs that do well you see families that invest and give them the opportunities to succeed. I'm sure it's not always easy and they should be held in high esteem.
You know what I cannot believe that our health system allows the option of an abortion if a baby has Down’s syndrome. This is the saddest most pathetic thing I could ever image. When we met w our Doctor when my wife got pregnant they gave us that option. I was FURIOUS! who are we to decide Gods gifts to our world. This young lady is a power of example for all of us not only as an incredible athlete but as a human being. If all of us conducted ourselves like this our world would be so much better.
Good lord....how many times can a grown man get choked up in one video?.......sheesh. Two incredible people.
Sitting here tearing up.
Agreed my friend. 😢
Man, Gary just keeps becoming more and more my favorite golfer. It's hard to not want him to win
We need a lot more of Amy in this world. We've got you, Amy. And you've got us.

If our world was ever 1% of Amy, we’d be in a better world.
Is Amy going to be a coach someday? She's got that!
I would say something about the kind of a person that would give this a thumbs down but....
Uh, did she par that? Beautiful looking swing. What a wonderful human being.
Yup. Up and down from the bunker on the craziest par 3 in golf. Truly inspirational.
