The King in Yellow is based upon shortstory written by Robert Chambers, but some storys seem to connect him with the entity Hastur. Hastur was created by Ambroce Bierce. Still, both got then referred to by Lovecraft, for example his Call of Cthulhu. Thanks alot for ur videos, I enjoy ur humor so much 😂❤
This DLC has some of the best bosses ngl. A bit of lore I just learned about Midra is in the room behind his giant portrait with Nanaya you'll see cloth covered lumps. Photo enhancing from other Souls tubers shows that under those cloths are what look like Finger corpses. Also after pulling that secret lever in his Manse if you parkour on the bookshelves you can find his wife Nanaya's dead body holding a severed spine torch that has a frenzy flame at its end. Midra failed to become the Lord of Frenzy Flame, and because he worshipped it The Hornsent impaled him with the Greatsword of Damnation. In his brutal torture before death Nanaya told Midra a single word "Endure". It was that word that drove him mad as he endured for many years, until we appeared. In his final moments of true despair he became the Lord of Frenzy he always wanted to be, but couldn't be before finding true despair. Only to be put down by a Tarnished Lord. Between Midra, Bayle, Messmer, and a certain hidden boss you can find through doing Ymir's questline at Manus Metyr I confidently feel like this DLC has absolute banger bosses. The lore of these bosses also goes insanely hard. The one theme every single boss of this DLC shares is Abandonment. Even this realm with the Scadu Tree (pronounced Shadoo Tree) has been abandoned, only death seeks this realm out. As all death washes ashore here in the Land of Shadows. Also your intro and outro's are the real Cinema out here Square, keep up the good work my boy, and have a good one while you're at it 🔥
One thing i saw from a comment in one video. He is the embodiment of chaos but he fights with precision and slowly. This shows that the frenzied flame is a diferent kind of chaos. Not the wild and unthinkable one but the intelectual and precise one. He wants to see the flame prevail but he can be patiente about it.
yeah Midra is like what i want to fromsoft to stick to, fair, fun, and challenging, no hard tin terms of dmg values, hard in the sense of progression and trial and error. you'll understand onces the final boss comes take numbers.

I theorise that the reason you have to re-kill his base form is because once you let the nascent frenzied lord outside of his abode, it's effectively game over for the Lands Between. So it shows that you when you approach this guy and force him to transform, the doom is *imminent*.
After 400+ hrs in this game, i just found out you get a special cut scene if you inherit the frenzied flame before burning the erdtree. Also, after i finished the DLC i wanted to do a run without ever talking to Melina but it’s impossible without glitches. No matter how many great runes you get you cannot enter Leyndell without meeting her 😩
From what I know , midra was a failed lord of frenzy , i don't know how or why but he awakened when fighting us .. Or may be I heard wrong , feel free to correct me 😅😅..

It's not the best works of fromsoft, it's not quite Bloodborne or DS3 or Armored Core For Answer, but it's absolutely up there with all the others as amazing games, and it's by far the most expansive lore project they've ever fit into one game. Armored Core Lore is probably more, but not by much, and it's a whole series. Over all great work, and I can tell why they brought George R.R. Martin in on the project.
I 1 shot the Midra fight. I didnt find it hard but it was fuking awesome. Love the aesthetics, love the move set, love the music. All in all 9/10. A 10/10 may be achieved later with NG+, but base game he is super easy. When he lifts up to do his diving nova, run back and range it. That's how i dodged it. You gotta go far cause its HUGE. I think i had to go to the far wall if i remember correctly. 13:14, you would have had it if you didnt stop lol. That's how i found it out as well. Healing. lol.
It definitely is one of the easier bosses in the DLC ngl. But to one shot him is still an incredible feat my guy, congratz on that! FromSoftware really tried to gatekeep us with dancing lion and rellana lol, those two were way harder imo.
you know, talking about the crucible knight, you might want to look up for their lore. On the lore, there were a total of only 16 crucible knights, which is the same amount of knights you can find in the game, so basically ALL OF THEM survived EVERYTHING
Midra is more a lesser version of the lord of the frenzied flame, he looked ito the frenzied flame but was not strogn enough to be the proper frenzied lord. Thus he became this, which is a good meassure to consider this: if he is a failed frenzied lrod and is this strong, imagine what we turn into when we got Frenzy.

There's an easily missable side boss that is very lore important; find a wizard with a weird hat in a poorly-lit church, and do his quest line.

Even in his base form, the frenzy’s infection leaking out basically transformed that entire woodland area to a terrifying degree.
